how many transfers did it take you to find the right server to stay on?

as the title asks, how many times did you transfer server before finding the one you liked enough to stay for good?

I only transferred once, from Goblin to Coeurl. Only did it cus my friend was playing but then he quit shortly after I switched. Luckily the FC has been quite friendly so it keeps me here.

It was just once for me: from Adamantoise to Diabolos. In hindsight, Balmung would have been a better fit in many ways, but I don't regret any of the friends I've made and would never transfer there now.

Edit: I was on Phoenix for a week too, to visit a friend there. I ended up back on Diabolos in short order because I missed everyone.

I transferred once only (best decision ever). But tried many and more servers to see and find THE one, yep it meant starting over each time. The only I transferred, because well starting over is no fun, I finally, at least so far, found myself a nice spot where to rest ! as whether I will stay for good, that is not something anyone of us can answer with 100 % of certainty. Just take what comes your way be happy and when is no more there move forward and seek again.

Kashuan became Hyperion after the merge and it's a nice place to be.

Friends aside, so little in this game depends on what server you're on that it doesn't much matter to me. Pretty much anything I do with a group means DF pulling together people on other servers anyway.

Now, what *data center* you're on, on the other hand... might be a different story.

None. Although my server isn't greatly populated, its not dead either. Plus the restrictions on server transfers, would hurt. I have a medium house to myself (which I have to give up, along with all my furnishings), and can only bring 1m gil (currently around 80m atm). So unless I spend tons of gil, or housing is better, ill be here on my server for a long time

1. Transfer too expensive for me so when I found out my friend had deposited us on an EU server I really just went "whatever".
2. Too late for me to transfer now, I have too much stuff invested here, and friends too.

Lindblum became Sargatanas and then they created Ragnarok, the first and only EU server so I went there with my main, back in 1.x.

Still happy on Ragnarok,
still happy on Sargatanas^^

One so far, from Fenrir to Cerberus (time zone differences became a problem.) Want to move again soon, though.

The most out of anyone here so far: four.

The last two times I transferred for an FC. Every time I felt like I'd lost what I'd built up, anyway, such as splitting from an FC leaving for BnS or slowly imploding due to poor management. I didn't want to gamble time or energy on a "maybe" FC, so if I couldn't find one that I really wanted to spend time in I'd pack up and move. I'm a long-haul type of person who's been in some online communities for 10+ years or until they went offline, so I'm picky.

The first time I transferred for an FC I found out the recruitment had been very dishonest, but I did make a friend there. I left with my friend and we couldn't agree on where to go next. The second FC transfer was for a PVP FC on Gilgamesh and that's panned out well so far. Nice people, good management, and active.

Once due to the chaos data center move (time zone / latency issues). Transferring was a major pain and now I have a house, so I would not do it again. I stalked around online for FCs and found one with a good website, so I picked that server to give them a try.

Zero. I picked Cerberus and I'm very happy there. One of the best servers.

None, although the server I'm on has undergone a few personality changes from Lindblum to 1.0 Sargatanas to 2.0 Sargatanas to 3.0 Sargatanas. I've been frustrated with the general population at times, but I've got some good groups here so I can't see myself going anywhere.

FFXI's Seraph is always going to be the MMO home of my heart though. :)

None, I found a nice FC on Zodiark (well it was more that they found me). I have made alts on other servers (Cerberus, Odin and Shiva) though to see what they're like...I just need to actually log in and have a look around.

Despite a rather dead raiding scene currently, been on Hyperion ever since ARR landed.

Been on Famfrit forever. Started with friends, so there would really be no reason to transfer. Sometimes I wonder what it's like on other servers, but I'm happy where I am :o

I have only transferred once. That being from Moogle to Balmung.
Moogle was said to be the unoffical EU RP server.. but that never took off. Instead it became the unofficial french server!
Fortunately this was only a few weeks after ARR launched, so I didn't have to lose many friends when I switched servers.

None. I started on Sargatanas and it's actually more likely that I'll leave the game than leave my server.

none been wanting to go tonberry since the unofficial australian server so hopefully peak time is closer to mine but dont wanna lose my house lol

Knowing several groups that have cleared A4S, and countless that go into savage every week, I'd say it's far from dead...it's no excalibur, but other servers definitely have it far worse.

Let's see.... Started on coerl, then moved to behemoth, then moved to faerie, AND THEN BACK TO BEHEMOTH, then moved to diablos - though that was a dumb move on my part. And finally.... FINALLY moved to balmung.

Honestly I've never made friends so quickly as I'm making them here; its amazing :o

None, i dont know why i should tbh. I'd only consider it if server is dead or low population.

Once for me, from Goblin to Balmung. One of the best decisions I have made in this game.

Once for me, from Balmung to Siren, much happier now that I can actually bring my friends into the game and play with them!

Cerberus > Odin > Zodiark > Phoenix

Found right server on first attempt, so haven't felt the need to transfer anywhere else.

Picked Balmung out of the gate and it's been great!

Midgardsomr wasn't bad, but there wasn't enough people playing at my time (US late night), so I went to Gilgamesh since more people meant more people would be playing around that time, but after being there for a month or so, I found the community really isolating, so I moved to Behemoth since it was the second choice of Oceania server. Unfortunately, that didn't work any better (I couldn't go to Tonberry because the latency was too bad), so I went to Faerie because I didn't really have much options left and if anything I figured I could try RPing (I absolutely refuse to jump on Balmung).

I'm actually quite happy on Faerie. Out of all the servers I haven't met a more welcoming community (there were also Aussies to boot to raid with yay!), so hopefully that stops my server hopping escapades.

Born and bred on Ultros since phase 4 beta. It's my home.

I moved because I didn't really like the community, twice. So it was probably just me and nothing wrong. Odin felt a lot like Cerberus so I tried a smaller community like Zodiark. I then moved to Phoenix after meeting someone in the marrage thread.

I moved from Famfrit to Excalibur. I wanted to level crafting and have a less inflated market so i could buy anything i needed via market board. It's been good so far and I plan to stay.

I'm actually tempted to transfer to JP servers again, if I can find one with a small EU community...

None. Always been Odin. Some friends of mine in person started there so I followed. Joined their FC. Made friends with an awesome bunch. My original friends I followed no longer play, but still playing with a lot of the people in that first FC now. ^^ I'd only transfer if they did.
