Valentione's Event!

Just wanted to say thank you for a really wonderful event! It's so much fun, and for once I actually WANT to do it multiple times!

I got the same result with him on two characters. We got a bit sad-faced, 'cause we've been friends for 6 years. ;u; Even the fortune teller said we better end our relationship right then and there. So cruel.

I don't know him, but helped him do the quest. I think my roe might turn into a gold digger. XD

The fortune-teller part is pretty fun, but the rest... I dunno. I started playing the game just before the summer event in Costa del Sol. I really liked it. Then the anniversary event blew me away. Even though I hadn't been playing long, I got a bit teary-eyed during the cutscenes. But after that the festivals just got a bit lack-luster. I'm not complaining about the halloween mount and minion, though. Maybe I'm just used to festivals where you have to grind to get the items you want. Like the summer one did. And not being able to get seasonal items I missed from past festivals, other than buying them in the cash shop, is rather disappointing too. Were the festivals in previous years like this? And do you all think this might be a new trend going forward?

I think I've only been unsubbed a week, and I'm getting my card ready to resub...

While the fortune teller bit was fun it was still another underwelming event with more underwelming rewards. Come on SE design a new outfit to go with the hat it's not hard.

It really is a disappointment, the hat is cute but I don't see the point of these events that are done in like 10 minutes. Maybe its because I am used to events being over the span of several days. Just seems like were getting simple "Go do this 1 thing, good here is your reward". I don't mind handouts but why decorate, make everything festive, NPCs just to have us ignore em after the first 30mins or so?

This! So much this! I feel the same way. And the furniture just doesn't trip my trigger much. Also the idea of items going POOF if we change houses or get kicked/leave a FC really stinks. I'd love to know who came up with this idea so I can smack them upside the head a little.

I think maybe the reception to long events weren't well received, hence the recent events are so short.

Heh. When someone asks me how the summer event was, I generally tell them to grind FATEs in northern thanalan and pretend every mob was a pirate. Though that's not quite authentic because in northern thanalan at least the scenery changes a little and the FATEs are more varied.

I personally like events as they are right now. But I also have two alts to take care of, so I generally go through them thrice.

I have five alts at the moment. *grins* I pretty much just do it once and that's it. At least that's how it was with the winter and now this event. The rewards just aren't worth it to me. I know it doesn't take long, but still. *shrugs* If the rewards were better, then I would for sure do it.

Those all look so cute though I do wish the events were something more, I mean last years event was better than this. The cute chocobo gear was great!!
This year's stuff not so much, I want to actually see some amazing costumes/glamour come to us finally.
I did actually love the event we had for XI sure the gear wasn't really to my taste but the event itself was great, I loved the story to it and doing the fates too. It felt immersive, where other events just feel like something slapped together at the last moment.

The last few events have just been such a let down and very lack luster.

I got the same reactions with me and random-dude-i-picked-up-by-the-quest-giver =P lol!

I'm a little confused how the fortunes work, my partner and I got good ones the first time, then 5 minutes later we got two good ones but the fore-bearing fortuneteller gave us a bad one saying not to cross water and it never changed again. Odd, haha.

Now I'm kinda bummed one of my friends isn't doing the event. And I have no Eternal Bond partner either. So what happens after you need a party?

This. The rewards are just items to take up space. Why not give people options for other items besides furniture? Those of us without houses are running out of storage space just to hold onto items we can't use. Make furniture part of a choice of items so that people without houses can select the other items instead.

If it was rng it wouldn't have stayed as the same fortunes every time.

Just curious what sparked the change from getting good on that specific fortuneteller the first time, then getting the bad one every time after...it was the exact same text every time even.

The reward is a hat, the furniture is optional (though if you are tired of holding onto furniture, buy a room in your FC house. If your FC doesn't have a house though, will just have to try to get one or wait til a housing update...)

I did buy a room in my FC house, but that only can hold so much before it becomes a storage shed. I made my room look livable, not like an overstocked antique shop lol. Besides, some of the items i have are for outdoors and you cant do anything with those in a FC room.

I don't know what's the meaning to when I got 3 heart card and we're doing warm up like soldier at ishgard.

Yeah, outdoor items could use more uses :(

I really like the new hat it goes well with the Valentione set. I'm using it right now for my CUL glamour.

I was really disapointed with the event. Its over so quick, where are the events that had fates you could run over and over again? or the one that had you digging up treasure maps for dolls? Those were interesting and fun.
At this rate i wouldnt even bother doing the event. It was fun, however short, to do it with a player that used to be in my fc but wandered off a while ago, accidentally meeting him at the quest giver.

It's just a cute thing to do with your boyfriend/girlfriend. I don't consider valentines day to be that major so I'm really not fussed if it was short, personally.

The summer event will have something fun I'm sure. It always does.

Aside from the hat, I thought it was just another boring event.

I shure hope next event has some more meat to it and also some decent gear/furniture to collect. Havent had any piece in the last few events that is worth it to keep. Only one that saw any use was the witch outfit and the southern sea's short dress. I cannot call it a swimsuit no matter how much SE claims it is one.

To be honest this event is better than the previous three (All Saint's Wake, Starlight Celebration and Heavensturn which ended after the quest was over). While the event's story itself is over, you can do the fortune-telling over and over again, So it isn't short, really.

I had a lot of fun with my friends doing the fortune telling with our main characters and some alts. :)

Honestly although the events with FATEs may have lasted longer I can't say I enjoyed grinding out all the rewards. I'd prefer we got more events like this.

Haha, see I'm the opposite. I really didn't find those events fun at all.

Ginding fates and digging up maps over and over again? Boring and repetitive for me. I HATE grinding fates and I hate how many events have relied on them. It feels like a cheat that's not really content at all.

But THIS event has been really unique - it actually makes use of our gods and birthdays! And the results are different depending on who you do it with!

It's "short" if you do it only with one person... but why would you do that?? I've done it with 4 different friends so far and it's really funny seeing the differences and all the different outcomes.

I dunno, it's just the only event I've done several times without forcing myself to do so for the sake of items. I did grind out fates in the other events, and yes it took TIME, but it was not ENJOYABLE.

Anyway, I just don't want the devs to get discouraged from trying new things for events. More events that don't involve fates please!!

Probably because there's no reason to do it again, the results mean nothing as it's just RNG.
