What is everyone's thoughts? and do you think they will still be class locked or switched to all class?
Either way, it's probably going to cost a couple millions of gil lock behind specialist receipt again. "Please look forward to it."
I would love for them to become dyable... the high allagan robe of healing is still my favourite piece of gear!
Doubt they would remove the job restrictions though, it's not happened for any other gear.
Also, I wouldn't want a craftable version!! It's raid gear, the whole point is it's a reward for fighting :/
Well they're going to be stupidly expensive crafts for no reason.
That or I'm willing to bet they're the new "low-rank" Feast Gear.
I think it's gonna use allagan material and ADS material... If not locked in specialist recipe.
i really hope that they will do what they did with the old Darklight gear. they became dyeable after a patch (can't remember which) without all the muss and fuss. otherwise, crafters rejoice! more gill for us all! :)
One way or another, they are going to make it a pain to get the dyeable version. I seriously doubt we can just login post-patch and dye the gear we already have. On a brighter note though, if it is a crafted version, it may be possible where job restrictions are lifted, there are quite a handful of examples found in 3.0 gears.
I'd love it. Might end up trying to farm some of the ones I don't have so I could see it livening up that content.
That is, of course, if SE doesn't do something like stick it behind endgame crafting where a dyable set would end up costing as much as a house. Which is extremely likely. :(
I think ideally it should be locked behind crafting or PvP IF you didn't already get the drop. If you already have the gear, you shouldn't have to jump through more hoops to dye it. It should just become dyeable. This has some benefits:
1. There's an alternative method available to those who didn't get a chance to run the raids, BUT it's cost-prohibitive. This means two things:
a. Crafters can make money selling them to lazy players and
b. Lazy players have access to it.
2. BUT, very few people will actually want to buy them when they can get them from free, so
a. There will be increased glamor runs of the old raids, which were good content and could use a revival of interest and
b. Because of the alternative, those items that are crafted will be subject to deflation through competition and thus will never be exorbitantly priced.
What do you all think of that proposal?
I can live with dyeable allagan gear lock behind crafting, but please not PvP content. Other than that I'm ok with it.
Heck, why not both? Crafting will be more expensive, PvP will be more gameplay-intensive. I'll play PvP all day long (I stink at it, but practice makes perfect as they say), but I'm really broke. I couldn't afford really expensive mats/items from the market board. I'm sure some people are the opposite - gil sitting around with nothing to spend it on, but PvP has no appeal and is like a waste of time.
That option, plus the option to PF a glamor run through the raid, I'd be a happy lala.
Honestly if it's all class I just want the allagan coat of fending dyeable version on my machinist.
It won't be simple or fun. It will be some hot mess of epic proportion to be able to dye the gear.
Yeah I mean. You have to look at it two ways...
They put the ADS, a super sought after mount at the time behind massive PVP. SO, highly sought after glamour is an option for PVP rank. I can see a jump to rank 70 this patch. 55 Allag 60 High Allag 65 Dreadwyrm 70 Job gear.
I'm fine with both, but you will see non-pvp players crying foul on pve (ex) raid gears on pvp content. But if it does happen, then I will like a pve option to obtain the pvp ADS mount. (And yes, I'd pvp friends who cried foul when I mentioned how I wish for it to be put up on kupo stores or drop from bahamut coil).
I don't care what the requirement is, so long as it's NOT put to that specialist garbage.
Sadly I know all too well how they operate, and they won't pass a chance to let the person that made that utter trash system know their disgusting idea is getting use. Words cannot begin to describe how much I despise that system, and how aggravating it is to see them scurry to validate its unwanted detrimental existence at every chance by throwing anything they can on it instead of admitting it's terrible and letting it die.
Maybe they will talk about it on the live letter.....hopefully.
I would be more than fine (happy even) if the dyeable Allagan, High Allagan and Dreadwyrm were benefits for PVP. Frontlines needs a renewal, and we know the new Wolves Den is coming. I'm just sick and tired of seeing everything require high level and/or specialist crafting.
All gears should be dyable as soon as they insert them into the game. Even the unique ones, which perhaps with a different color that what we would consider ugly, might look decent. Making the DEV who made it a satisfaction for a bit, instead of items being trashed bec of no value.
Just like new dungeon gear outdone as soon as they implement it. so stupid.
PvP certainly needs ilv 185 - 210+ gear for when Wolvesden: Feast gets released.
I am not sure if they'll use Coil gear, but I can see them use dyeable versions of the the dungeon gear
I hope they make Dyable Valerian gear. Way better looking sets IMO.
I really hope its not locked behind specialist.. that's really all. I'm sure it'll look great
I've hoarded the Allagan materials that drop from first Coil in case the recipes to make them the dyeable versions require them. I just want to dye the High Allagan healer coat.
Although, I'm expecting something needlessly complicated. Remember the hype when they said we'd be able to dye AF job gear? Remember how that turned out in the end? Yeah.
Look forward to increase in gilbot spams as some people fork over an arm and a leg for it and rmt goes up.
I'm just going for the visor/maiming gloves still rip me probably.
They'll almost certainly be crafted items, and they'll most likely require Red Scrip materials (which will probably make them prohibitively expensive) or Specialization (which, if the Sky Pirate's Gear is any indication, will make them fairly affordable).
Given the choice between the two, I'd much rather they make them all Specialist gear than deal with the trainwreck that is Red Scrip mats.
Seeing that SE like forcing us to do old content; maybe the materials can only be obtained via desynthesizing the coil gear? Kinda like the primal weapons? Combined with them being specialist craft?
Ah, so basically you have no point. You're a crafter, and you want to make profit off of people who hate crafting. Got it.
Yeah, let's not rejuvenate an actual gameplay component (PVP) of this game that some people do actually enjoy, so that people who like to rip others off can make more profit for themselves.
They made the Darklight sets dyeable without any special crafting. They want to rejuvenate old raids.
Given these 2 facts, I'd say it's safe to assume they are just going to make all the existing gear dyable. I think people are over thinking this.
