Suggestion: Housing Minions/Pets

I was looking through the furniture combo thread and I saw this by Cookie Mogster on Odin.

I thought it was an amazing idea. Think about obtaining a minion (as an item) then giving it to your house. They could add a pet crate to store used minions, if they go the route of using brand new minions only, not from your minion collection and require it to place a minion in your home. It should be small and easily hid within your home/FC.

Imagine walking into your home to seeing your fat cat minion rolling on its belly waiting for you then scampering off around the house! Dream with me guys! Kawaiiiiii

If you like the idea, hit like so SE mods can get a feel of whether it's worth requesting to the devs/publisher.

while i like the idea those without houses wont be impressed XD

when 1.0 was still live yoshi mentioned wanting to let our minions roam around in our personal houses but that along with roaming primals and dragon siege fights never came to be.

I'd love a little "Beware of Dog" sign on my garden fence with the little wolf pup scampering around.

I suggested added minions to houses on the forums when they added FC rooms. No answer then, I doubt we'll get one now.

I must admit.. the idea of teleporting to my house and being greeted by Wolf Pup and Gestahl would make me smile every time.

I'm hoping for this eventually; an item placed that acts like the retainers do. Select a minion you own to stand or patrol around the placed area.

This would actually be pretty awesome. You could use it to do lots of neat stuff, like having Magicked Brooms (is that the name of the minion? I don't recall for sure) roaming around and things like that.

I'd love to have a couple of minions wandering around my house, and another one roaming my yard! It would really make the homes and wards seem more alive and be a lot of fun.

Honestly you should just be able to select X amount of minions to roam around your house/yard including a mount outside to defend your property *Beware of the fat chocob he will eat you*

So many great ideas, Some are quite easy to make. Yet they are not here! Come on dev team! ;)

I'd very much like to see this too, although now I want a small roving band of security mammots. Considering how effective the mammots that run the airships are, I'm pretty sure there's a good chance I'd walk in to them helping someone abscond with all my furniture. (Rawrz check forum guidelines, no bumping)

At the top of the forum in the welcome thread there's a link to the general forum rules that state: "Please do not make a simple post just for the purpose of "bumping" a thread." I suppose they should probably make sure to stuff all of that together though. Seems odd to separate it.

Back on topic though, I'd like to request some themed minion playpen furniture as well to keep them in line when I don't want them abducting a passersby or jumping all over the place.

Do you think it'll be in Ishgard though? I'm starting to wonder if it won't be a district of Idyllshire, as part of it's expansion.

Love the idea, cats and other parrots to every house ! Oh and it would be nice to be able to take my 5 Irish setters for a walk in the housing area (or anywhere else in the matter of fact).

I won't complain coming home to my Fenrir pup roaming around (which I could hold it like we do during quests where we carry stuff)..

Rift allows the addition of some animals to their dimensions (housing). It is a really nice feature and not surprised Rift has done it already, they are truly superior when it comes to housing design , creativity etc. by leaps and bounds.

SE would do well to use them as a guide.

I think having some of our minions roaming about or even somewhat stationary would be a wonderful addition. Sadly item limits need to be quadrupled first imo though, but I would love to see them add this feature ;)

I agree with this 100%. And Rift is a lower budget mmo, no?

Pleasseee SE. Today my nutkin jumped from the floor to my aquarium to the pillows i placed on top (talking like two consecutive 5 feet jumps)... got me wanting even more independency with pets while at home.

Please create a system where pets can roam the house ;-; <3
