This would be really cool, and fix a lot of housing issues.

I go into my friends rooms all the time >.>
Oh I guess that could be nice as personal housing.
sounds like an easy fix
Please join me in my hotel room.
Bow chica bow wow
Just admit it, you want it for ERP.
I think this is more or less the intent of the mansion rooms we're getting Soon(tm). It's not an exact parallel but in-the-city housing you can change, and have guests in.
I don't see the point of this tbh. Aren't all inn rooms pretty much the same?
but why? so you guys can get a haircut together? I see this no different than being in the same room at the FC house.
All inn rooms in a city are identical.
Having a private space that you can share with others is actually incredibly helpful for roleplay purposes, because it reduces the possibility of being griefed to zero. And let me tell you all that being griefed when you're trying to roleplay is one of the worst things you can experience in that aspect of the game.
EDIT: While they're at it, it would be nice to be able to let party members into your restricted-access house. Having one friend over should not require leaving the door unlocked for anyone to see.
Since you can't customize your Inn room at all (so there's no design to show off, like with housing) or anything in the Inn room that requires a party, what would be the purpose? If you want to hang out and socialize there are hundreds of buildings all over the game that are more interesting backdrops than a tiny hotel room.
Not that it matters, but in Phantasy Star Universe each and every player had a instanced personal room that players could go to and decorate to a degree. That game didn't last long I realize, but for a game that was 9 dollars a month for it to offer accessible housing out the door for everyone is pretty great, don't know why SE can't implement anything like this.
A more pointless addition I can't even think of. You can't even decorate an inn room, what would be the point?
So people who don't have FC houses can RP in private, I guess?
They should just use those resources to make FC houses more common.
SE has implemented that.....in XI. You could customize your room with items, and in the later years they made it so you could invite people in. Before anyone gets all uppity, I realize XIV is not XI, but I'm always surprised by basic features they decided to do away with when making this game.
I've been an uninvited guest in peoples inn room for 5 years and counting.

What if you don't have an FC? What if you don't want to join one?
I would agree with you if you could be part of more then one FC and your rooms stayed with you. However you have to put a great deal of commitment into an FC and you always run the risk of losing your home. So its not good.
Here's an idea: buy a house. If you reply with something along the lines of "houses cost money that I don't have, I should get something completely frivolous for free that others worked for" then I find your argument invalid. If they wasted resources on obscure requests like this in spite of all of the other things that needed fixing, housing being one of them, people would be even angrier than they all ready are.
Final Fantasy formula: if you use a feature from a previous version, do it different
Also, they are already working on apartment houses with 500 rooms each
then get an apartment room after they are ready.
not necessary to change the Inns if they are working on something that give the same result you want.
If you don't want to be in an FC, then you don't (and shouldn't) get FC perks. Simple as that.
Really though...if you're not even in an FC who are you going to invite to your inn room anyway? From my experience most of a person's ingame friends come from their FC.
Mr. Gaye has something to say about this
To all those asking why should we have this, I'd like to ask with another annoying question: Why not?? You have buds you play with and all of you can que into dungeons in the same inn room (helpful if your doing quick farms in dungeons since there's not much to load on your return). Also If I'm not mistaken, in old FF games you had party members you slept with in inns to replenish health (be immature if you want). If you ask me it would have interesting nostalgia value, and I'm still not sure why it wasn't implemented before, though its probably for people thinking like this. -_-

Didn't feel like wasting my comment count on this. And actually you can. Did you ever try?
My appologies, I hope I did not portray myself as overserious. Perhaps I needed some lighthearted emoticons to get the point across that I was taking a playful dig at him.
I'm from the same server, and am also an RP'er. I've ERP'd before, as well. I just giggled a little because it's exactly what I'd say to any of my friends in the LS's I'm in making this request. XD So again, appologies if it was offensive.
Its all good dude. Sarcasm is hard to read through chats sometimes, so its my fault for even taking it serious to start with so apologies from me too :) Though I'd like to add, RP would be nice if inn rooms could allow you to do that. I don't RP really but I like skits people make for this game. ERP kinda creeps me out though, no offense or anything. X)
Yea, I know a lot of people that share that philosophy. I think it's fine though, if you find it gross or unnerving, that's well within your rights. You don't sound overly judgemental about it, so I think you're pretty cool in most people's eyes who would do it.
Me? I like it as a part of a narrative. But there are some people that /really/ creep me out. Like the Lalafell/Miqo'te in ul'dah dressed up like whores. You can tell they're just on those characters to e-screw and it REALLY creeps me out, in more ways than one...
Well, to each thier own I suppose. When it comes to myself, if the narrative goes in a way that the characters would have sex, I always ask if they want to RP it or "FTB" - whcih stands for 'fade to black'... I think most RP'ers you meet will respect someone like you, who has a discomfort with it and will be fine RP'ing around it.
Anyways, thanks for the response. Appreciate the courtesy. :)
