Yoshi next expansion can we have ?

Since level cap will most likely hit 70...

1 An end game zone like sky or sea from xi ? something that actually gives us a feeling of accomplishment and to work towards each week vs mindless df grind for 6 months or more ? some kind of pass we have to WORK for after hitting 70 just to enter it ? maybe like a challenge of between normal end game and extreme ? this would give casuals and hardcore something in the middle.

2 Way more side story quests, there simply was not enough, fate grinding and only a few dungeons gets VERY old and boring fast.

3 A second companion, preferably the option to have a retainer like npc to level that takes months to cap or even a merit stat system for ourselves.

4 A much more dangerous open world or the end game zone VERY dangerous that needs at least a full party to explore or do things in.

I'm gonna have to argue against number 2.

No doubt moogle hell felt like it would never end, but this is why I say SIDE story, other quests we can leave ASIDE for other jobs vs you know, the df hell and fate hell as the only options left.

What I would really like to get is:
- option (if you already reached lvl max and finished the MSQ with a char): automatically reach the end of the MSQ with another character linked to your account. The reason: for people having alts, it is fun to do the MSQ (and its level grinding...) once, but not 4 times. Thank you :)

I would like to have a Solo boss fight tournament challenge.

For those who don't know what a Solo boss fight Tournament challenge is it is a type of solo challenge content designed around a single player fighting against tough bosses alone. The high you reach on the solo challenege the better the reward but also the tougher the boss. Certain MMOs have this Solo Boss Tournament challenge as part of endgame mostly to test the players skills with their class/job for endgame level rewards. It is a type of content players have to be at their best to get to the higher floor/round/level rewards but it does push players to understanding their class/job role to defeat each boss on each floor/round/level without the help of other players.

Content that doesn't get boring after 1 month.

something which doesnt have Ilevels and your gear is outdated by the next patch. and tons of story prior to going live...

We have more pressing matters atm that need addressing than to be worrying about the next expansion. >_<;

Something, anything, that's not like 3.0 and the patches so far. Meaning; No more repackaging old start-of-2.0 mechanics and serving them as "new content". No more vertical progression only and hyper production of new iLvl gear with every damn patch.

The "Guest" mechanic. I just finished the level 60 smn quest and we had to go to a certain place and that it would be a difficult and dangerous journey but all I had to do was teleport and boom I'm there. Some more danger in the world would be much appreciated. Imagining leaving the city with 2 npcs for your job quest and you have to travel by chocobo, airship or even boat?

I just want a game that's less porting and more exploring and NO, gathering aether currents is NOT exploring.

That makes no sense at all. How would a new expansion be any better? HS is still young and has time to grow better. If SE hammers out another expansion now, it will be equally, if not, worst than what we have now. Just cuz you've given up hope on this expansion, doesn't mean others have as well. Expansion isn't even a year old. New Expansion, doesn't always mean a better game.

He means the Moogle Quests. It was hit or miss to a lot of people but I found them interesting after you figured out how the game works.

I really hope that they won't up the max lvl, we have enough buttons to press already. I have on all 3 of my jobs 3 skillbars almost full with skills.

I don't want to get more skills, for someone with small hands like me it's not funny to try your hardest to play your job properly...

Not really. SE already knew where they're going with 4.0 before HW released. They plan these things many months in advance, to allow for development time, etc. So really, now would be the time to get these things on the table, since there's still time to make adjustments if they deem them feasible/desirable/not "too stressful for the players".

It's popular for people to say "we really can't comment 'til we see where they're going with the next expansion", but that's really not a good way to look at it. By that point, the toothpaste is already out of the tube, and it's a hell of a lot more difficult getting it back in.

ARR Was 2 years into its life when HW was released so we can roughly assume that 4.0 will be either late this year or early 2017. There is hardly any room for them to make things better per this expansion. A ton of things need to be fixed across all the class, a lot of current content needs to be adjusted and lot of newer more fulfilling content needs to be released, which given the current state of the game will likely not happen for awhile. I recall them saying HW will be the foundation for a lot of good things to come but given what we have with 3.0 a lot more bad has been the outcome. I'd gladly welcome a huge multiple day patch if it meant getting the QoL updates and tweaks this game really needs.

I don't want anything like Sky or Sea ever again. Ever.

The nearly infinite chain of side quests in the churning mists.

"Yes! I've finished all of these horrible moogle quests! Time to go turn them in! ...what do you mean I've just unlocked 3 quests for every one I just completed?!"

"Finally! I'm done! I'm never going to have to look at an irritating pom again! Let's go to Ishgard and continue some other side quests! ...what do you mean I have to go back to the moogles?!?!?!"

And so on and so forth ad nauseum.

By the end of early access I was ready to farm mog extreme just to repeatedly hammer some moogles.

I never said that and I never had this problem, we all had statics around lvl 30 and I was doing chain 14s in sky on brd before it was "cool" and when sky was camped we went to moon. They fixed the issues with certain jobs being in demand with xiv that is one good thing they did and a few others, while diluting others and getting rid of diversity.

As far as fixing heavensward I'm 100% happy if they literally plan to expand it far more and put in many more side quests, that would be a good start and hey they might end up surprising us all, I think the expansion was OK but was simply lacking in certain areas. That does not change the fact it's a bit late in the game for them to suddenly change their model of vertical progression and eventual level cap increase, even xi has 99 cap now right ?

I'd love content like this again. Anything open world besides gathering and fates please :/

Just cuz they have an idea on what they want to implement in 4.0, doesn't mean it will turn out good. It's a Broken Window Effect that needs solving during this expansion than letting it carry over to the next expansion.

If they'll ever stop increasing the item level, they would also have to keep people playing by making the game 5x as grindy and difficult to get max iLvl gear, with interesting stats if they ever bring more flavor to it, and would make them worthwhile and rewarding so I wouldn't mind that.
If job levels gets increased again, we could get something that would customize and improve our jobs further after reaching max level.

Make zones more dangerous and maybe better endgame content that's on the open world. They could get ideas from FFXI or other MMOs with their open world dungeons and dangerous endgame zones with valuable rewards.
For the existing, fix the Hunt to be somewhat like levequests where the hunt mark they have to find is only visible to them and can be attacked only by that party (Or alliance. Make alliances possible in the open world, SE!) to avoid the problem they currently have except for S ranks though, which has some sort of triggers. Make the rewards also valuable for gearing up and for crafting, same for Treasure Hunts.

Most of all, make quests engaging, and more side quests that are story-driven and lore expanding. They should definitely give more effort on making that as well.

One solution would be some kind of relic armor that can be upgraded over a series of expansions of level cap increasing.

This would allow the player base to KEEP existing gear while looking forward to upgrading it every few months or years. Similar to relic weapons, the simple farm x item to upgrade it 10 i lvl is getting old fast and it just means more glamour retainer bloat hell later.

I truly miss having things like leaping lizard boots that lasted us to 75, having sky drops that were still relevant when doing sea and wog content, being able to have SOME variety in gear vs glamour race skin cookie cutter builds that everyone else has.

The only challenge in hunts is getting there before it's pulled during invite shouts.

An unlockable endgame zone that requires endgame grind to access? People already complain about the current accomplishment grinds (i.e. Relics).

I guess this is partially because they spread much of the sidequest stuff (such as the beasttribe quests) out over the .X patches instead of lumping everything into the expansion itself.

This was the intent of the Exploration Missions, but The Diadem wasn't a perfect implementation.

Yoshi I'm not asking you to make XIV like XI, I'm asking you to CONSIDER what kept players coming back to XI, what kept them engaged, what was grindy...but not too much of a grind, but worth it to those players, and to try to add in content like that for end game, while trying to avoid some of the nastier sides of that content, again it's considering those things, those options, but also keeping a balance so that casuals and hardcore can enjoy it, no you can't please everyone but clearly end game needs change and in a direction that it KEEPS subscribers wanting to log in, wanting to continue to support XIV and for the next 5+ years.

Accomplishment, community, addiction, a drive to keep playing XIV because we have reasons to want to every single day, this should be a priority imo for the design team, looking at past mistakes and working towards fixing those but retaining players interests.

The real problem is that the dev team has to deal with Devil's Choices (i.e. Damned if they do this/Damned if they don't), narrow balance windows (to rewarding/not rewarding enough for difficulty), dead content, and unplanned play patterns (Hunt networking, Diadem DF gathering/battle desire split, Dino Island Zerg farming, etc.). 3.0 and 3.1 endgame stuff have both suffered from all of these. It is easy to say "Add X popular/good content/system from Y game" but hard to examine and explain what made the content popular/good.

This would actually be extremely simple to introduce in this game, anybody for the battle arena from FF7 that was in gold saucer?? Simply put that in gold saucer....you could do single or 4 man parties with friends, and make it seriously challenging, not laughable. Give rewards, tie in MGP, and call it a day....I would personally love this kind of content.

Speaking of Gold Saucer, they could make mini games similar to the classic turn-based battles like in the previous FF games and something like Tactics.

We already kinda know from all the ex vet FF XI players what they want/wanted in XIV and the continued complaints/missing those things is clearly what is desired, that's not to say we want all of the baggage and drama and negative things back either, we admit there was flaws in XI but most of those flaws have been addressed already in XIV creation, ie no where near as much of a time sink, the df waits are laughable compared to some cases of 6 hour waiting for a party and so on, the other things were not so bad or at least tolerable.
