Since they have been out a bit. Can the rank requirement be removed now?
I didn't kill trade for mine? Spammed Frontline and joined Friday night wolves den matches.
Just earn it like everyone else. Ranks never should have been removed from the level 50 gear.
Kill trading?...
and for the sake of gear, nonetheless? HA.
Just rank up like everyone else has.
180i gear is old now.
Yea when the next top tier pvp gear is released it probably will, no way should they remove rank from the top set though, go grind out your ranks like everyone else..
Face desk?* Yes..

Wasn't the requirement of the previous gear ilvl100-110 removed in the expansion? These ones won't be removed anytime soon either. Especially when you consider that they are currently the only lvl 60 PvP rewards you can get.
lvl 90 gear requirement removed in 2.4 during final coil if i remember right.. so maybe current 180 gear req will be removed in 3.4 during they release third part of alex.
Mostly just here to say I hope the rank requirement sticks around for longer, especially given how few updates to pvp gear to grab there is and such.
I'm actually a surprised you haven't hit the rank needed yet, to be honest. A friend of mine hit max rank in, like, two weeks or so. Of course, he actually really got into it.
Please stay away from pvp.
Not this guy again.

You already asked this like 5 months ago, if you would've just levelled in this time you would be 50 already.
Nope

No one said you had to win trade... You're going to have to pvp if you want... PvP gear.. >_>
Never heard of any one win trading for ranks myself...
there is pvp lovers, spamming pvp to rank, the one who is wintrade, hate pvp and just want glamours, we don't care about them, if anyone is actualy wintrading btw....
it's totaly false it's not the only way to get ranked 50. i never heard about that also.
It was only the case in Wolfden in 2.1. sorry but you are arguing for something outdated.
Maybe you can tell us how to actualy wintrade on frontline with 72 players ? it don't happen.... that's all
It's not uncommon, using Wolves' Den challenge log bonus to rank up more quickly. I joined them then set them up myself each week, people join them. I wanted rank 50 (really 48) so I could have all my points to allocate to PVP skills. It just helps speed things up.
it help but you can't rank up only by doing the weekly wintrade like he is saying, it's a perfect nonsense...
He is point we can't rank without wintrading. Nonsense is nonsense.
i expect 400 frontline to be what you need to get ranked 50. it's how players rank it (depend how much you win or loose)
these weekly wintrade of wolfden is just a little boost and don't realy mean people need to wintrade to rank up, it just help a few.
also pvper don't consider this as a grind, even when they reach rank50, pvper continue to play pvp. for the player only doing this for the glamour, it don't help you certainly won't reach your rank.
I also want to challenge the 'most people' assertion; I've never met anyone who does this. Maybe most people on your server or in your circles, sure. Personally I've never set foot in WD because it's impossible to get it to pop these days, but I really love FL so it turned out ok. If you don't love FL I don't really understand why you want the gear so much that you need to have it now; the unlocked ilv100/110 sets are way more interesting, design-wise.
It's an issue that if you start fresh and don't want the glamours you basically have no rewards for most of the levels up to 45, then you suddenly get a bunch of things in quick succession. But it's not an insurmountable barrier.
Even if they unlock the current items I'd expect them to add a new tier to reward the people who bothered with the levelling up instead of complaining, so you're still going to be annoyed other people have something you don't. And that's how it should be - rewards come after doing something, not before.
OP just wants to equip PvP gear without doing PvP which is completely stupid. Can I equip Alex Savage gear without doing Savage pls.

I switched on 9/27/15 I hit rank 50 past week. I also only had 3 weeks with over 30 matches. They were also before the pvp xp increase. How can you not be rank 50 by now? When you were rank 18 a month before me. Also as you can see my win rate is kind of crappy for Adders so its not like I was getting max xp either. You should probably stick to just complaining about this with your friends.
I just hit rank 50 recently. I only have 2 wolves den matches ever and 342 frontlines. Its really a lot easier to rank up now that they increased xp some. Just do enough each week to complete the frontlines challenge log and itd take about 3 months. If id been doing wolves den challenge log too it would have been much quicker. I'd rather they not remove the rank requirement on the pvp gear.
There's no need for win trade, just complete the 7 frontline battle and 3 wins weekly for the challenge log.
Suck it up and go pvp. Otherwise i think you can see yourself out, aight mate?;)
It is very easy to rank up now. I joined the Immortal Flames 11/19/2015 and I hit rank 50 on 1/08/2016. That is 50 days to go from rank 0 to rank 50.
Do your roulette, you get an extra 600 EXP (basically a free win) regardless of what place you come in. You're on the Aether Data Center which has weekly events (Friday Night Wolves' Den and Saturday Night Secure) so it's very easy to fill out your challenge log. If you put in a little bit of effort, they are literally spoon feeding you the EXP.
You are not going to find any sympathy here. You have to earn your rewards and ranks. Raiders are not spoon fed gear either, they actually have to clear the content (sometimes repeatedly) for loot, they don't just walk into A3S wipe in the add phase and obtain rewards because "Team Living Liquid" won, because you can do that in PvP for about FL 700 games and hit rank 50.
I can't even find you on xiv-pvp.com nor in Balmung's Maelstrom Weekly or Monthly Frontline Standings, so I'm going to assume that even now you still don't participate in PvP. You seem very keen to complain about something that you have very little experience in and very little interest in doing. I don't understand why you have PvP included in your signature if this is the case.
Okay.
So you want people to walk into PvP, win one game and have 1mil Wolf Marks, ADS, every GC pony, and Field Commander? Because you seem to be claiming that's how easy the raiding scene is currently.
I hate to break this to you, but this is a game. If you got all the rewards at once there would be no replay value. That's why players are rewarded in different ways for different content. Wolf Marks and ranked gear are the PvP equivalent to tome PvE gear. You don't have to work very hard, but if you do it enough, you can eventually get the full set you want.
It's more like raiding Alex savage and getting gear for a job you don't have at 60 yet, then coming to the forums and bitching because you could acquire gear that you couldn't use yet and how unfair it all is because if you can acquire it you should be able to use it.
You can use it when you earn rank 50. The point of the set is to be the BiS for level 60 arena content (which is coming out in 3.2), as it has done for every other PvP set. It exists to give you that edge in the arena because you earned experience via ranking. Kthx.
So this is about glamor fodder? Lol. Why should you be allowed to have something for glamor if you have no interest in participating in the content? The PvP armor was added to be used by PvPers for PvP content.Quote:
I also have multiple characters. So I have actually several pieces of gear on each one I would love to use.
But it already is.Quote:
I just wanted the system to BE designed like the rest of the game.
You come into the game. Brand new level 1 with no experience.
You come into PvP. Brand new rank 0 with no experience.
You do grind some mobs, do some quests, run some dungeons. Sure you die sometimes, but you get up and try again, you get gil and experience and you level up.
You grind some PvP, do some Frontlines, do some Wolves' Den. Sure, you die sometimes, but you get up and try again, win or lose, you gain experience and rank up.
You finally hit it, level cap, level 60. You can now buy armor and weapons with Tomes that you couldn't wear before this level.
You finally hit it, rank cap, ran 50. You can now wear armor and weapons that you bought with Marks that you couldn't wear before this rank.
This is probably the most ironic thing you said 'cause you definitely didn't read all of my first post, lol.Quote:
Please actually read what I said before you say anything. ;)
Isn't this the same guy who complained weeks ago about it?
The gear isn't old, muchacho. Nobody cares if you have it; it's not like it's difficult to obtain when the game dumps 600 wolf marks in your lap each game if you win.
It came out like what, 4 months ago? Either continue waiting or actually PvP and get it. If you want to wait, be my guest, I'll be enjoying my armor all while you sit and throw a temper tantrum about it.
