why don't we have FC Alliances?

Basically, 5-10 FCs that can ally and converse in an overarching Alliance channel. FC leaders would just need an invite/leave/join menu. Not thinking much is needed. This would allow friends of various FCs (but also new ones) to communicate and organize ventures that are otherwise a little hard to queue for sometimes (certain 8 and 24 player queues, pvp) as well as other events.

Sitting by the fire trying to queue for Void Ark wondering why we don't have this. Would be fantastic when things are slower in your social network, not to mention giving a larger scope of the game.

I really want this!

They mentioned this in the past if I recall correctly. They said it was suppose to be included in one of the past updates, but it was never actually added. And there hasn't been any mention since as far as I know.

I'm sure there's a huge list of "promised" things we could make as a large post for an entire patch by itself.

why would we need this though? just create an LS

There are plenty of issues with the current LS system.
LS fill stupidly easy.
Removing inactive players is a chore.
Limit on the amount of LS's you can have.
FC's tend to have larger communities depending on how big the FC is, meaning you could get more than the 125 player cap LS's currently have.
I could go on forever, but a LS isn't all that great in terms of building a community considering it's such a chore to keep them alive and full of ACTIVE players when you can't see when the last time a player has logged in.

Honestly, I don't see why you wouldn't want this. Especially for the huge fact of: It wouldn't take up any LS spaces for other things

On another note: Are there seriously Void Ark LS's out there that people are actually apart of? lol What a waste

Not that I know of. It just happened to be what I was sitting around waiting on when I had the thought that I wished this would be implemented. Glad it's coming in 2.2!!

Every time one of these threads happen, there's always someone who strolls in and goes "lol free companies don't need alliances, if you should just combine free companies, make it easy!" totally glancing over the idea that in way more instances than you'd think, 512 spaces isn't enough for a Free Company. Alliances will be swell to have and I'm still looking forward to them.

Free Company Alliances wouldn't effect me one way or the other, so please don't feel I'm against the idea, but I'd to ask: What features would the Alliances have that they couldn't also achieve by increasing the the 512 player limit? From that community rep post quoted earlier it seems like the alliances would only have access to the same things free companies do.

Some people like to be apart of their own FC with their own tag but want to benefit from being apart of a larger FC. FC Alliances allow people to keep their tags, while being apart of a bigger community. Same concept of a LS, but this could, and would ideally keep your "community" more active since, at the moment, keeping a LS full of live members is quite the chore, especially if you don't record how often people log in and play. A FC can do that by default, and wouldn't take up any player slots. FC alliances allow for FC individuality while allowing players to emerge into a more active community with other free companies of their choosing.

I don't see why anyone would be against growing their social circles. This game is hard enough to "make friends" since you could ideally DF nearly everything and never once talk to a single person on your server.
I don't understand why anyone would be against this.

i like the idea of having alliances for fc's, it would make grouping much easier, party finder isnt exactly kind to first timers on ex primals for example.

Great idea.Should be a way to make enemies FCs too. A FC pvp would be great too.
