Final Fantasy XII Hunt Club in FFXIV.

Anyone familiar with FFXII's Hunt Club?


That mini game where NPCs posted Hunt marks on the billboard and if you took the job, you had to hunt that monster to receive a reward.

How well do you guys think something like that would fit in FFXIV?

It could be like this:

Every week, There will posts in the adventurer's guild for every major city. There will be multiple class of mobs/NMs posted. Something for low levels, mid levels and high levels. For each of these 3 categories, there will multiple mobs. Some that can be soloed and some that will require parties to take down. The harder the mob, the better the reward. The post will give you some background on the situation, where the mobs was last seen etc etc etc.....

Now i can't decided if these hunts can be done once for each player in the game or make it a first come first served thing. You guys decide.

They can make a hunt club guild in the game too. The club/guild could have a some kind of weekly newspaper, talking about new marks and the adventurers or groups that succeeded in last week's mark hunts. These monster would have to be really difficult and require a lot of effort to beat. Once you beat a couple of those you character could have a rank within the guild and a title... Your rank and title could give you the option of purchasing rare items from the guild and purchasing some common items at a discount.

I think it would be really nice...

I've been meaning to post about FFXII all together. That game had a more MMO feel than FFXIV XD

I think there are really good ideas in it that would make FFXIV better, like that hunt club :)
(although i really didn't like FFXII cuz of its characters and story, it had a really good gameplay)

How is this different from leves? I barely played XII because it didn't interest me much. But this really just sounds almost identical to the leve counter.

The monsters in the hunt club tended to be as challanging as NM leves

Well there were lots of hunts, some required specific ways to spawn it but they were all bosses. You were given a place but no indication of where on the map the mob is and sometimes you had to go talk to a few NPCs

I think this would be an amazing addition.

I like this idea, and I actually had planned on mentioning it with the last players poll...I see this as a win for everyone, casual, hardcore, solo and party.

It is very similiar to guild leves, but I think it can be done in XIV, albeit more dynamic in the sense that you can gain prestige/fame and the rewards would probably be alot better. If you ever decide to try XII again try the hunt marks and see for yourself...guarantee you'll like it.

Yeah That was one of my Favorite things in XII, it would be nice to have something like that that allows for NM hunts.

Well it will be different then leaves as theres only 1 monster to find an defeat.
A boss class/level monster.
You cannot solo all of these monsters. some will be but others will be strictly for parties of either 4 or 8 and cannot be done solo.
They always give you big rewards. Gil + item + gear. The harder the monster the better the reward. The monster can be sorted by classes. A class C is a regular monster and are of average difficulty. Class B and A are strong and requires parties of 4. Class S are very hard and requires a good 8 men party.
These should come with a guild. Defeating monsters gives you experience points with the guild and your rank within the guild will get higher.
Higher Ranks will earn you Titles. Titles are for recognition and fame but will also enable you to purchase items at the guild that cannot be found anywhere else. You can also purchase regular items and repairs at a discount in the guild.

As you can see there is many ways to make this different then Leaves... and these are Only weekly.
Square can make it that each week the targets are different.
There should be targets for low, mid and high rank players.
Class C, B, A targets can be killed once by each players. There will be multiple targets every week within these classes.
Class S would be only 3 different ones per week... very hard and challenging.... monsters that would require a lot of effort and time. They could make it that class S monsters can only be killed once... a first come first served thing... so since there are 3 each weeks only 3 parties will be able to kill them or something like that or they could respawn only ever 48H within that week.
These would require specific actions, requirements to make them spawn... not just walk to that spot and there he is.

Only being able to do them once wouldnt add much to the game, but how about a few for each tier and they cycle every week.

EG:

1-10 has Monster A, monster B, Monster C, each can only be fought one time (per quest taker for group mobs) per cycle. then Next week will have monster D, monster E and monster F.

and 11-20 has entirely different sets of monster.

so on and so fourth.

This way everyone gets a crack at them,they dont get farmed TOO bad so they can drop decent stuff, there's something fresh every week and its new content all the way to fifty.


edit: heck you probably dont need a 1-10 bracket since you can just blow through that so fast.

The idea was that only the type S could only be killed once every 48H... there would 3 different type S every week and the reason why they respawn only every 48h is that their reward would be really good and that they would be so difficult that most parties would fail in their first attempts... i want them to be so hard that they would require a strategy to be defeated.... they could even be monthly so SE has enough time to make something good for every month.

Anything below Class S could be done by everyone so everybody gets a crack at it.

Word, that'd be pretty sweet.

I'm good with this idea if it's implemented better than XI's was (which was an afterthought anyway).

I would like to see a Leve counter specific for this. Have a picture of the mob and a short story behind it. Make them popped mobs and roaming mobs.

I like it.

i would really see myself spend a lot of time with something like this and it would be really fun. Especially the marks/monsters that require grouping would be fun and help people socialize.

Sadly the chances of Yoshi-P or someone from the devs to see this are very slim. So far they only looked at the japanese forums.... the english forums got attention from only the moderators and we don't know if our requests got passed to devs....

I think with in thread polling we'd be able to set up like a uh...


consolidated list of liked ideas, where enough votes get you onto the list, the we could just translate the list and put it on the j-forum.

I miss playing XII. Gameplay was the most enjoyable for me. Roaming around, fighting monsters as you approached them right there. So good~

XII was one of my favorite.... my friends didn't like it too much because of the active battle system but i enjoyed it a lot.

I say scrap FFXIV... take FFXII and use FFXIV's engine to make a new game/mmo remake.......... seriously FFXII was a mmo at heart.

They had that in FFXI, well pretty much the same thing. I am sure it will be introduced here...eventually.
