Prepare for Steam newbies

Just got a message from a friend who was like, "uh what server were you on again?" He'd picked up XIV on a Steam sale.

I suspect there will be a lot of this over the next few days/weeks, especially if you're on a server that isn't frequently locked to character creation.

Be nice to the newbies, everyone! Remember when you were new to the game and everything was confusing.

Good! New people, new life, new experiences. Bring them in, I say.

You can buy it also at Humble Bundle (Weekly Bundle - SE-Bundle: Lara Croft, Hitman, etc. too) for 5.45$ atm - and yes, 30 days are included.

The ARR is in humble bundle for like $6 as person above said otherwise if you buy directly from steam it still full price no sale going on least not when I checked as making this post.

We need more newbies for Roulette bonuses. Bring them on.

I gladly welcome them too. Less elitist, moar new guys that I can show the ropes to. :D

Newbies are so cute, though. We have one who gets lost in dungeons. I have to go rescue him a lot.

I love playing with newbies, they're usually so nice.

I like finding newbs with potential and make them git gud so they can call out bad newbs.

I like newbies as well. I don't feel as pressured when I'm running dungeons. <3 I love helping out a lot too. +_+

*Sees leafed Lv. 3 ACN outside Limsa accidentally pull a Goobue* *Deathflares Goobue into component atoms* "One day you will be as I am." Always be good to new ppl. If I catch new ppl trying to do things with starting garb I'll often make them stuff to help with surviving b/c I can.

I think this is first time I see newbie group that want explore Sastasha for achievement/beat all mobs for exp. Won't complain since I didn't explore it by myself too >_>

Without clueless newbies, how can we replace aging populations of jaded players? I, for one, welcome the cries of "What does orange on the ground mean?"

I like picking a random green leaf and /wave at them. If they reply back in any way, I usually give them gear and/or gil to help them along. I find it more enjoyable to help the new people than grind tomestones all day.

I'm always down for new people, sometimes make them gear for whatever class they are running around in. Makes it a little easier for them to get hunting log and FATEs done.

Ill say the real reason everyones happy, bonus poetics and lawls... awww yeaaa.gif

Funny, I had people stop by my twitch stream and ask about my server. I love helping noobies.

I braced myself for a totally different attitude when I saw this thread title. I'm glad I didn't have to.

Yes, bring on the new players! I always enjoy it when I see one that appears to be lost in the part of Limsa I hang out at. A little break in my typical routine. (Really hyped for the potential Mentor stuff coming up too. Reminds me of FFXI and community stuff like the Great Axe Challenge for warriors.)

I hope we get some nice new players, many of which are going to be delicious little Lalafell morsels *___*

I love helping new players! Though I'm on Balmung, so I doubt we'll see many of them. =(

I do enjoy spamming Thornmarch for poetics and getting the bonus pretty much every time...

Already adopted my first newbie tank running as a gld in haukke nm who turned out on the same server...bought him some hq gear and pointed him what to do to get pld now he's in my fc :)

It's 2016 and I did a Copperbell Hard last night where we ran out of rocks before the first add spawned. That was with me telling them to just attack things and let me do mechanics. I don't see how adding Steam newbies is going to be much different from what came before.

Ive seen alot of new blood in DF.... you can tell in the lower dungeons... where did you guys go? Click the big blue fire in the middle of the room where the boss was.... thats happened about 9 different times in the past couple days.

My dungeons are full of them, and when I get home lvl 15 green buds sit in my bathtub or massage each other in my bed D:

Even if you're on a creatino locked server, you can still interact with some of these newbies via the duty finder.

When running around scouting for hunts, i was hugging all the green leaves i saw last night.

I will love them and hug them and show them stuff and call them padawan :D

As a newbie that's played for almost 3 weeks, I must say the game is confusing and so far i've met more helpful people than rude people. So players on Jenova, doing great at accepting your newbies!

I have also only started to play as of December. Although not new to the MMO game play, the world was, and to an extent still is, overwhelming but people seem to be a lot friendlier to new players than other MMO's I've played. Wiped several times to Ultima Weapon fight last night and no one raged which was nice. Obviously haven't made it to any end game content so maybe it's different at the top but so far my experience has been great. I do hate getting constant FC requests with no accompanied whisper....sorry but I don't know you...would you get into a strangers car? Then don't try to invite strangers to your FC. :eek:

Welcome aboard everyone! The game does get a bit more toxic by 60, but if you find a good Free Company by then you'll never want for assistance or conversation.
