undersizing the crystal towers

i just sat for 10 hours in a queue for syrcus tower i dont see how in any way thats an acceptable time for 6 hours of it before i feel asleep we never had more than one party in queue people have no reason to go back and do these and id like to be able to farm for my glamour honestly this need to be undersizeable or give people some reason to go back and do it

Relic quest could have breathed new life into this now dead area.

Instead I guess they want us spamming Alexander normal a million times. :/

I think Crystal Tower will drop relic crystals after everyone finished farming 3.0 Fates... ^^;

To be honest, I don't think it would even be possible - Labyrinth of the Ancients particularly is specifically designed for 3 parties to undertake it (the Atomos fight is an example of this - each party takes down their own version of the monster at once and they all have to be destroyed simultaneously). Thus because of this, SE would have to go back and redesign the raids to allow a single party to do it, which I don't see being given a high priority in their list of changes and additions needed to be implemented sadly.

Not simultaneously but you do have the whole pads to stand on for the other party to actually be able to hit it. But definitely not simultaneously - had parties that took an extra 2-3 minutes killing theirs due to probs with lockouts and such.

But they could adjust things so that it wouldn't be an issue undersized. Like they did in t11 with standing on pads - no longer needs 4 ppl in undersized.

Before 3.0 launched, Yoshi mentioned possibility of reducing party size required for CT raids, not sure how this would work for certain fights, such as Atomos in LotA, but hopefully we hear more soon.

It's definitely possible. It's just more work then what they've been willing to put into it.

If they wanted to make this work, what they would have to do is adjust the DF so that there was a second que option for CT/ST/WoD in which you can que with eight players at level 60 instead of 24 players at 50. Given that Dps checks were a joke even at lvl 50, a lvl 60 8-man should have no problems. They wouldn't even have to adjust the difficulty. They'd just have to adjust some of the mechanics to suit less players...

Really, that's only the Atmos parts, and it would be an easy fix. For CT, if they made it so that ONE player was needed to stand on the pad instead of four then it would be possible to do, even simultaneously. I actually think it would be a lot more fun this way because it would force one team to go without a Healer and another team to go without a Tank. It would be fun to see the different ways groups chose to tackle it.

There's a couple of ways that they could painlessly breathe some fresh life into the Crystal Tower raids:

- Create a Duty Roulette: Raid in the duty finder. Give a reasonable experience reward (per day, perhaps?) as well as a decent amount of tomes and gil.
- Tie it into the next step of the relic quest.

Both of these. I want to do Crystal Tower but I started FFXIV only a month before Heavensward hit. After waiting for 2 hours in the DF once we were missing 1 DPS, then 30 mins later, everyone dropped and it was basically me and a tank. Then I went to bed.

Another idea that could help is to make them cross server.. I'm sure parties can be put together quickly from a pool of everyone instead of just the specific server

Still need carrots to hold in front of players.

Raid roulette would be wonderful.

Throw in a good daily bonus for it, maybe 200 Poetics and Laws at 60, and people would sign up daily for it.

Raid roulette sounds like a good idea. Requiring these for a relic sounds like a horrible idea.

They're not saying requiring, they're saying add it as an extra option for some fast progression on it.

Try on a Sunday. There are some people trying to revive Crystal Tower as a Sunday event.
