That's because tanks are the one in need the most.
That's because there are less tanks queuing.
The Adventurer in need system is a system to encourage players to queue in the role most needed to reduce queue times.
That's why when there were a lot of people levelling DRK you saw periods where DPS actually became the Adventurer in Need.
I wanted to queue for World of Darkness once. Saw ''DPS in need''
I though the game was broken...
Sorry but I will have to disagree. The tanker is the most important thing on every MMO. It's fair because Isn't every player that it's skillfully suficient to be a tanker. With a good tanker you can do whatever you want even if the healer and dps isn't that good.
Was there a point to this thread? Adventurer in need is the adventurer in need....? Self-explanatory. If you need further clarification, think of this way. Most new people tend to play a DPS or get a DPS to cap first because it helps them learn the mechanics of various things without playing a core role and screwing things up like you can easily do as a tank and sometimes as a healer. Tanking is also a little more....'annoying'? than other games like say wow when you can literally go into a pack and spam one button to get threat on everything. Hardly any form of real resource management when you're leveling in games like that compared to here.
Really the Adventurer in need isn't about who is more important but rather what role is most needed.
Id add that there are a lot of fights where dps and healers have much more important mechanics to manage than the tanks. Most ultimates in Trial fights are up to the dps to deal with.
Tanks hardly queue up for stuff now. Don't blame them, because the community can be pretty harsh on them. Some tanks are leveling/playing as a DPS as well.
Because majority people want become DPS than tanks in case of "less responsibility".
what exactly are you disagreeing with? OP just made a statement that the tanks are always listed for "adventurer in need"
in any case the system is like that to lower Que times by giving a bonus to the role that is having the least ques. (which is often tanks)
Very few people queue as Tanks since it is not a very popular role to play as due to the high tolerance demand requried for a Tank Player. Healers are the 2nd least played role so it is common for them to get the bonus once in a while but the majority of the player base main as a DPS character.
However, once 4.0 is out we should see more DPS and Healer needed in the bonus again like in 3.0 when so many people wanted to play as Dark knight and Astrologian during the first week.
I dunno. I have seen healer and DPS pop up as in need a bit more frequently this past week.
I'd rather heal because I feel like I can carry harder that way. As a tank, if I'm stuck with a mediocre to bad healer there's only so much I can do. As a healer, if I've got a mediocre to bad tank I can usually roll with it and get us through. Example: I managed to clear Dusk Vigil earlier tonight with a DRK using an i55 weapon. If we've got bad DPS, I just ask the tank to pull small and DPS my face off.
DPS are always the most popular role in pretty much all MMOs. More people enjoy DPS than the do tanking or healing.
Indeed. I feel that I have much more control of the situation when I'm healing. Last week I was doing Arboretum, our tank was good, but DC'ed at 75%~ of the last boss (Belladonna). I managed to keep the party alive, had to do alot of kiting and sprint on CD, the DPS did a good job not getting hit by "Frond Fatale" and we cleared and I got her card. As a tank I would probably die (and cry).

About "adventurer in need", I think Healer is needed kinda frequently in leveling roulette.
not always ....today trials dps was in need ...and guildhest was healers :)
I disagree, with a great healer even a dps can tank (we used to run 3 dps 1 healer to speed run philo tome farming back in the day and outside of the hardest content like primals most times a tank can be cut completely) with a bad healer the party isnt going anywhere in easy or hard content.
Seen quite a few DPS in needs on Siren lately.
Tank role followed by the Healer role is the least played role in mmorpgs, so when players queue up for a dungeon, the DPS (most played role) will have a harder time finding a group to join.
In short, we have too many DPS players.
One could also say that there are less 'players' in circulations as compared to other games since you can do everything as one character, which also makes it harder getting people for a free company when recruiting. But all in all, regardless of any game with a queue system, dps will always be the most played and really rarely but 'in need' unless its super old content or a new tank/healer class was released.
Over looking the simple math that there are less tank slots for a df party means they are weighed heavier in the in need calculation, only real competition is healers. Tanks are not as rare as people would think as far as df content goes. Irony is because people are more used to using tanks in party to get fast queues it works backward for void ark and tanks need 2+ dps for faster queues, as there is an excess of them vs available party slots in queue, healers still make out pretty good in there though.
I have seen need dps in df. I think alot of people are running as tank so they can get their poetics faster from the daily lvl 50 dungeon.
I have seen some DPS Trail Roulette presently, And the second I do. I switch from my Warrior to my DPS job.... Only to wait in queue for 10+ mins because every other tank out there got the same idea.
The only reason I play tank as my main. God knows I don't care for the job is because I hate wasting my time in queues more.
If they had a pause queue I would play the jobs I enjoy.
It'd be better if EVERYONE was good and not have one person carrying
