vampire type race

i would love to see this

I don't know if have vampires on FF series but who cares. Should be Vampires, Succubus/Incubus, Orcs and a aquatic race. Great idea seriously. This is the best post of the day. I don't know exactly but seems that Square bought the Soul Reaver series years ago. Would be nice a vampire that look's like Raziel.

Worgens....I mean werewolves too, but only if they can transform for vanity sake. Also they did have vampire type mobs in XI, so its possible. There were technically werewolf mobs in XI too now that I think about it.

Vampires tend to be demonic in FF games. I'm sure there are Vampiric Voidsent. Not sure if they would be playable though. Au Ra are already supposed to have demonic themes to their appearance.

There would be a question on how they would look that different to Au Ra or Hyur unless your talking about old school monstrous vampires.

Would've been nice if Xaela also had fanged teeth and slitted irises since it seems Au Ra is SEs answer to "demonic" race.

But truthfully, what kinda vampire you had in mind?

I only see two vampires and a sparkly Tinkerbell in your post though...

I would rather see vampirism as a condition or disease similar to the elder scrolls series than a race. I mean in most fiction vampires are not a race to begin with.

Why does it have to be modern whiny vampires like Twilight?

Ummm no....there are enough goth type creatures in other games, let them stay there...

Au Ra are the closest thing to Vampires in FFXIV, as Vampires would likely be akin to voidsent and, similarly, succubi/incubi. I doubt you'll get any closer, but I could be wrong.

If a vampire is just going to look like a normal human you could just make a Hyur and roleplay it as a vampire. Basically the issue with a vampire 'race' which fits the modern culture beautiful vampire thing is they are indistinguishable from normal humans apart from being pale and having fangs.

Vampires would need to look like Nosferatu or something, otherwise SE may as well just copy and paste Hyurs or Mooncats minus the ears and tail with a different name. Some creativity for the next race would be nice.

I would only like to see a Vampire type race, if they do stuff that Vampires do, otherwise its going to be a Hyur with fangs and point ears.

What I would like to see is a race that can transform from a humanlike form into full beast race. Imagine a new wolf/fox/bird/any remaining animal race, that can transform from their Au Ra, Miqote looking form into a full beast one. This should please alot of players, since this community is divided by players that want to play a pretty race and those that want something different from the current races, aka full beast.

Races are meaningless in this game, outside of looks. Wish that wasn't the case, personally. Vampire-like race just on looks? Kind of meh on that, myself. You could choose a skin color to get that effect, no?

Vampires are not a race, they are an affliction/disease.

Anyone who thinks they are a race (and I know a lot of bad RPers who do..) *shakes his head.*

I mean to be fair in some mythologies they ARE a race- they have kids, etc.

But most of the time? ...no

I wouldn't mind a quest(s) where you fight vampires, would be fun. As it is Manor is the closest we have and its my favorite dungeon to go all Simon Balmont on it.

No thanks, I would very much dislike this. I don't feel it fits the lore or FF in general.

Vampire is a class and not a race. And, since vampires are undead, having a healer in the party would be detrimental to their health.

We already had a thread about this topic. I want Bravely Default's Vampire. Make it happen SE. Vampire can be a condition, a race, and hell, even a job. People need to get over that Vampire can be anything. This is a SE game and not a Elder Scrolls or any other WRPG. This is a JRPG, which means anything can be anything.

Screw making Vampires a race, just leave them as a monster type. All they do is drink blood, turn into flying rodents and burn away in the sunlight. That'd cut down your effective playing time to half, meaning you can't even leave your house for most of the playable day.

Instead, let's make a playable race out of the Qu tribe from FFIX (perhaps around the time of Blue Mage implementation? ;D). None of you can deny that it would be absolutely amazing, running around as a giant Lickitung with a battle fork, eating everything you can find. ..... Kind of like smaller Goobbues, now that I think about it.

She had to be my least favorite character from IX. >_>;

If SE really gonna add vampire to the game,I'd prefer to be Boss Fight or NPC..not playable character.
