berserk marco help

problem is last part doesnt happen. anyone know y?

If you use another macro during that time then it won't happen.

Honestly letting us know you have it up is more than enough anyway, anything after that or demanding it is just getting your hopes up. Cus it really depends what is going on, either we won't have the time to esuna you or something else is currently taking higher priority over a 5sec stall. Not being rude, just simply saying leave it as "berserk is up" and let the healer take it from there.

By the time you say 'Esuna now' we may be 2 seconds into your pacification reading combined with a 1 sec cast time, it may not be worthwhile at all. You can say 'Esuna in 3' but even then, it's a crapshoot. But I'd also default to what Rena is saying. Letting us know if Berserk is up also does wonder and doesn't come off as demanding.

I honestly don't even bother with a zerk macro. I'm sometimes pleasantly surprised when healers notice and cleanse, though.

Literally the first thing I thought of when I read the title.

The problem with your Berserk macro is that you shouldn't be using one.

As a war, i don't use berserk macro. As a whm i don't esuna anyone that has a macro.

Only macro I ever use is saying that it's up. If they have the time to remove pacify, they'll do it. No macro shouting about pacify in (x) seconds is needed.

I have one for Living Dead because of the goofy rule but,I'm sure one for holmgang wouldn't hurt.

Never have and never will have a berserk macro. They are honestly just pure obnoxiousness. Best advice I can offer though... Just delete the macro, trust me :>

Don't bother, healers have other things to do.

So as other's have said, there's no reason to macro berserk, and you definitely don't need to tell your healer the name of their own cleanse spell. Not to mention, pacification is a great time to use flash :)

That being said, I would write it like this:

/p Using Berserk
/wait however long you want
/p Berserk ends in some amount of seconds

Macro's don't work that great in FFXIV due to the inability to precisely time multiple commands in a macro. It makes things slower and, for DPS classes, is ~5% loss. For tank classes it could very easily get you killed if you macro together a couple skills to use as mitigation for tank busters, for instance, as only half of them will go off. For healing classes it can get whomever you're trying to heal killed.

So, basically, you don't see anyone making 'not dying now' macros because they'd actually be making 'please kill me as my mitigation fails to properly roll out' macros.

Berserk macros are 'okay' because there's only one skill in use, and then some party communication. They don't really interfere much with timing of abilities as the ability itself should still go off as soon as you push the button. This is also why healer raise macros are okay (which are actually okay, as opposed to okay with half quotes around them).

Berserk macros, however, are not ACTUALLY okay, because the loss in DPS over ~2.5 seconds of meaningful pacification (5 second debuff, a properly timed berserk will have your last ability hit just as pacification sets in, thus having half the pacification debuff be during GCD anyway) from a Warrior who just came down off their DPS cool down is generally so small as to be insignificant compared to a healer doing literally anything else with their time, plus the annoyance of trying to time an esuna to go off in time to clear the pacification before it no longer matters.

Which is to say they don't actually help much at all and tend to just be vaguely annoying. Especially as lots of people put sound effects in them.

I never expect my berserk to get cleansed, even by my own healers. If I happen to need it cleansed because I need to pick up mobs or otherwise use a weaponskill during a raid, I tell them I need it over ts, and it's not a problem.

Healers have more to worry about than your 5 seconds of downtime (that they probably won't be able to cleanse if they tried anyway).

as a war i never used 1 i get esuna fine

as a healer I also esuna pacify that 5 secs do mattwer -_-;; more so if u got dps in higher lvl gear going ham.

That's a little extreme.. but it can be annoying when some of those tanks have several lines in their macro.

I don't use a marco either. 5 seconds is 2 Cure IIs. Please heal me first lol.

pretty much this. I had a macro when I first started leveling but found it to be unfruitful. Healers dont usually get it in time and if they do its only 1 sec left. But I get that occasional healer that watches out for it which is pretty cool in my book :)
