Please bring back Hildibrand ; ;

The Scholasticiste quest storyline was so incredibly dull that going through the cut scenes was like wading through molasses.

Hildibrand's storylines provided a lovely contrast to the seriousness of the 2.0 storyline and had a beautiful homage to FFV.

I found myself falling asleep with the scholasticiste quests...it was like an exceedingly dull version of harry potter.

Please please please bring back hildi and greg!!

We're pretty likely to see more Hildibrand in the future. I'm fairly sure they've said they'd include more of him in the game at some point. I'm just really hoping that they don't try to merge it with the Scholasticate storyline, because I'm enjoying it so far and enjoying the fact that it's fleshing out some side characters beyond just Hildibrand. I really enjoyed the Hildibrand questline, true, and would like to see more of his story, but I don't want the ONLY side content we get to be based on his exploits.....

Scholasticate is really refreshing, I'm falling in love with Theomocent and I enjoy Briardien not being portrayed purely as a stick in the mud. I think the story is absolutely adorable and I love how it fleshes out the goings on in Ishgard.

As much as i love Hildibrand, I'm rather enjoying how serious things are. We just blew the lid on the true story of the dragon song war, and this is the aftermath. Something that very few MMO's do in a story that we the players get to see.

I really enjoyed the Scholasticate quests, I don't really see how it's "dull/serious"??? I thought it was pretty funny...

The Scholastic quests were terrible. Short, uninteresting characters, and a lack of any suspense, comedy, or lore implications. Just very dull. There are a ton of side characters they could have done a story about but instead chose new characters that are just not interesting.

I like the hildi quests, but this is a nice change. It's a palate cleanser in quest chain form.

Shockingly dull and boring questline, especially when compared to Hildy. Mor Dhona kids sidequests, while being very basic, were much more fun.

I'd rather not have Hildy back. Once I saw Briardien in the quest image, I kept expecting every text box credited to ??? to turn out to be Hildy and was relived every single time it wasn't him. I was quite happy he didn't show his face and muck everything up so everything could be treated with the seriousness it deserved.

I'm enjoying the storyline. I really hope Freckles and the shy girl hook up at the end. That's where Hildy shines, making people happy.

I did too a few times, though mostly I reacted with "Probably not Hildy. That sentence makes far too much sense/Is kindof Dickish."

As a side note not regarding Hildy, I did get an unintentional Chuckle when the one guy admonished me for carrying a weapon in the Scholasticate, thinking "Dude... It's a Book."

They'll bring back hildy, just wait. Not EVERY side story needs to have him.

I agree. Briarden can actually come across as competent now - and the other characters who showed up each had a distinct personality without being completely obnoxious. Not everybody likes Hildibrand or the 'humour' surrounding him. Having him show up every patch would simply lead to stagnation. In the past we had delivery quests to flesh out NPC's and push specific stories further along. We don't have that again this time around so having the Scholasticate is great.

The quests were bland , boring , i was falling sleep the whole way....the only time i laughed is when that girl did a faceplant......

I doubt very much that you were 'falling asleep'. Thankfully tastes differ - and I and many others thoroughly enjoyed not having to deal with Hildibrand yet again.

Yea, I've given up on all logic regarding NPCs at this point, particularly when it comes to what class we're playing as. I kept asking myself why as a MCH I couldn't just...

...shoot the woman who took that one student hostage. With the way she was holding that dagger, a single hit from Blank and she'd be knocked back far enough for me to pick off with ease before she could even come close to harming him. I mean, from a story telling perspective I can completely understand why they wouldn't allow such a thing, but from a personal perspective I wanted to introduce her to the end of a nice aetheric blast from my gun......

While I did enjoy the School quest line, I'm a bit shocked they never chose to expand on the Doman Kids after the base 4 quests since it ended on a slight cliffhanger and seemed like there was going to be more.

With the relic released and almost every thread about it I had forgotten these side quests were even added. This is the first thread ive seen about them and not a single person in game has mentioned them. Pretty sure that wouldnt be the case with Hildibrand

I have a feeling Hildebrand will return whenever they decide to bring phantom train as a fight...because somebody will suplex it.

Pfft, that'll be Godbert. Bonus points if it's a trial and the party fights on top/inside the train.

While I appreciate the tone of Ishgard/HW would not really fit with Hildibrand and I liked seeing Briardien again, the Scholasticate characters did not really engage me as much as the Hildibrand crew. It kinda seemed like the were trying to roll Hildiband and the Post Moogle quest series into one, while I found both quest series (fun side story and lore/exposition) better separately. It is just the first installment, so perhaps it will improve. I kept expecting there to be some sort of fight though, at least a solo'd instance one.
