only 4 hours? you're doing good.
The only skill for crafting is luck.
It sucks but it is true.
4 hours? I'm jealous
I agree, unfortunately... whoever made this crafting system does not.
.....people complaining about 4 hours to level....wow -.-
I used to check time per craft, for me, it about 100 seconds. ( with using skill)
So.. in 1 hour can do around 36 craft ( 1 hour = 60 min x 60 sec = 3600 sec )
if we got 200 xp per craft, so we got 36x200 = 7200 xp per hour
The last 49->50 need 100,000 xp so = 100,000 / 7200 = 14 hours est. for 200 xp per craft
If you got 300 per craft it will decrease to around 9 hours
400 xp will be around 7 hours.
So... yeah, crafting is the pain in the ass :P
It is outrageous to me that this community got the devs to gut and oversimplify the only good/complete system in the entire game and still people aren't happy with it. Then again, I said this would happen so it's not like I'm surprised. If you don't like crafting, then have a lick of common sense and don't do it. You people won't be happy until you can get HQ gear out of a single button press. Bloody WoW generation...
Level 40? Holy *** I applaud you. I get to Level 15 and thezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
Crafting is just not interesting in the slightest. I kind of regret not leveling a craft whilst leveling my DoW or DoH. I wouldn't have to spend all this time crafting.
crafting is the most boring content in this game.
Boo hoo. Go wack at something with your sword if crafting is not to your liking. Take a look at my sig. I know full well the time involved in crafting. How about you stop being dumb and do something you enjoy instead of complaining about doing something you don't?
Or... I could complain about it (which I actually haven't been doing, hurr... you may notice that this isn't my thread) and perhaps Square will take note that the community isn't happy about the crafting leveling curve and, you know... change it.
That's the cool part about these dynamic games.
I'm at r35 armorer, and it's not so bad, but does take a long time. I just do it when I normally would be watching a movie or tv anyway,
I don't really have a problem with that though, b/c unlike other games, in MMO's you keep your skills for a long, long, long time. Once you hit top rank, you're able to crank out the best items in the game for what, a year, till they raise the level cap? That's supposed to be a really difficult level to reach.
The problem with turning it into a more skillful minigame, is that it's really difficult to make ones that are difficult enough to stop people who are good at those games from just owning them, and still fun at the same time.
As a side question, I had thought that sub-craft requirements were done away with in the latest patch; is this not true? I have some stuff which I'm still getting a 'your leatherworking isn't high enough...' for.
Are you just trolling or what? What happens if you reduce xp required to level?
What the heck are you even commenting on the level curve for crafting anyway? Your highest level craft class is 15 which you can get by sneezing practically. You don't even know what you're talking about. Stick to the marauder boards. You'll have less chance of embarrassing yourself.
I don't like that the crafting system is more about spending time spamming one option that can fail randomly even with great gear. Nothing really challenging about it. Hopefully something is changed. They changed the battle system because people were spamming the same option but never mentioned crafting.
Then once you get to rank 50 you can try to make HQ items that are pretty much useless since they only add 3 defense at most for armor. At least make the HQ items produce more of the bonus stats other than 3 measly defense for a +3 item. HQ armor items that are for crafting offer 0 stat realted bonuses unless defense somehow really affects crafting. I thought I was working towards rank 50 to be able to randomly make valuable gear.
That is SO naive and ignorant.. Wow, if they catered the game to players like you, who would they have? No one. Seriously, if the MAJORITY of players find a certain aspect (a very LARGE aspect mind you) of the game to be boring, they should probably make it more F**KING interesting. Not everyone would rather spend time mindlessly pressing enter than doing something productive or, god forbid, FUN with their time?
Reducing xp needed to gain crafting levels =/= more interesting crafting. Nor would it satisfy anyone who wants it unless it was drastic to the point of stupidity so they wouldn't have to sit there and grind on a craft. That's what this comes down to. Instant gratification.
Also, don't come here talking about demographics. You have absolutely nothing at all to back up any of your assertions other than your belief that you fall within some sort of majority. A believe most people have, regardless of what is the reality.
Additionally, just because you want something doesn't make it right. Even if a whole bunch of other people also want what you want. Since we are pointing fingers and slinging insults here, the problem with people like you and the ironically named charismatic over there is that you aren't able to see past your own nose to know when something is not good for the entirety of the situation. You only care about the immediate impact it has on you.
I don't even care about the actual XP required to level crafting. That's not what bothers me. What bothers me is that the entirety of the crafting experience is composed of hitting enter and occasionally up. Monotony isn't exactly engaging. And, yes, there is some middle ground somewhere between the current state of things and one in which everyone instantly levels to 50. I'm not sure what that middle ground is. I'm not sure anyone knows, even. I do know, however, that expressing displeasure with the current state of affairs is more likely to inspire SE to try something different.
In beta it seemed Rapid was a valid option. Shortly after release they quickly buffed standard to be the default option for pretty much every case and nerferd the durability loss of rapid to be way too high and give it a high failure rate. Now the only thing rapid is good for is breaking your synth faster. 2 rapids and I lost over 50 durability each after it went unstable with an element. Ridiculous. A valid rapid option helped break up some of the monoteny of crafting if that option was still valid in some way and made synthesis faster which I think could use a boost to the time it takes to craft something.
at least crafting is a little interactive in FFXIV unlike WOW where you just choose it from a menu and it is always 100% -.- now THAT is boring. I kind of like how FFXI did it, but at the same time it needed improvement.
