3.15 on December 15

Now that the new Anima weapons are dropping on the 15th, are you going to be sticking to the same job/weapon you have or getting it on another?
i have a Yoichi Bow zeta and am going to get the Ninja daggers (for now) or whatever looks the coolest (since i dont raid anymore) :)

I'll probably start with the one for Warrior since I have the Ragnarok Zeta, though if it isn't a bunch of mindless grinding I might start the ninja one as well.

Well, i've been saving for my WAR weapon, so I might flip my WHM zeta into that.

I'll laugh if the step you skip with zeta is really easy and you all wasted your time on nothing.

I was debating as well as i did get Yoichi Bow Zeta first and then Lilith Rod Zeta, but i will be doing blm first and then decide if i continue on with Bard Relic or do Dk or something instead.
And one less step is still one less step. Some have no idea how horrid the atma chain for the Relic was, so if the next weapon is similar the less steps needed the better....
All my other classes i stopped at Novus stage.

Yoshi has gone on record saying the first step is one of the hardest. On a side note, I had my zeta well before Final coil was finished, which was pretty much at the start of this year....

Question: I am quite tardy to the party having just returned to the game since before Heavensward released. As I get up via tome gear I assume it is safe to say I do not need to spend the tomes on a weapon given anima weapons are coming? Do we know the starting ilvl of them by chance?

We don't know stats or ilvl or what is required to obtain them: baseline WE ALL ARE CLUELESS D:
You will probably need a tome weapon for a start for ilvl (weapon covers 2 slots for all but PLD while gear always only 1) to complete whatever they require (hoping for something like base relic 2.0 questline).

From the rumors I've been hearing, the Anima weapon quest line will take a very, very long time to complete. So whether you get a tomestone weapon is likely going to depend on how good you want your gear to be in the meantime.

Personally, I'd recommend getting at least the law tomestone weapon with the upgrade (i180) for your main class; this is perfectly serviceable and will get you through all except perhaps the most bleeding-edge raid content that currently exists, and it's easy to acquire using tomes that aren't capped. You can then use esoterics for the rest of the gear, or gearing up alternate jobs, or what have you.
