Reset abilities after wipes during raid

Many of FFXIV players have been experiencing the following :

- you're trying to progress through an encounter and of course you and your team make some mistakes that lead to a wipe
- someone pulled by mistake and 3 or 4 players used their cooldowns

Those situations lead to make all the party wait for 2 or 3 mins every time they make a single little mistake.

What I ask for is a reset on the abilities in raids like Alexander or Coil and also on primals because it doesn't make any sense to wait on cooldowns more than practicing on actual encounter.

Some of you may wonder why not getting the reset for every content, the answer is simple : in 24 men raids or in 4 men dungeons, not having your cooldowns ready doesn't prevent from fighting the actual encounter.

Feel free to give your opinion and feedback about how annoying it is to wait for CDs.

What, you don't like waiting 3 minutes for Battle Litany after a botched pull? Oh also we need to time it so the Ninja is at X seconds on Huton, the Monk has Form III, Deployment Tactics is out, the WAR is at Wrath X, and the pull goes out as the Bard is finishing casting Foe Requiem.

Discussed this with my static when we were doing Alex Savage. Completely agree on it. Would also be good for things like potions and other long CD stuff to reset on a wipe. The amount of time we lost waiting for different CD's that were unnecessary was very annoying. Really annoying in Thordan EX if i use Hallowed Ground having to wait for a couple of minutes for that CD when we could be getting a lot more practice in.

Reddit: is there any chance we’ll be able to have cool downs automatically reset after wiping in a raid? Often times you have to wait on Swift Cast, Raging Strikes, Convert, etc.

Yoshida: We’re thinking about it but whether or not we do it is still to be determined. The decision hasn’t been finalized yet on if we will implement this at the start of Heavensward or in a subsequent patch like the patch immediately following Heavensward. We’re still trying to make that final decision. That being said, we are considering options of a training opportunity with no rewards. For example you could focus on just turn three, phase two and work at getting better at that. There is a high chance of that being available to start practicing at the start of Heavensward.

Aaaaah yes, the long wait for hallowed ground to come off CD. I wish something like this were present, even if it just happened to reduce any cooldown timers to 60s on wipe and left a bit of a wait it wouldn't be too bad

Total agreement here. Cooldowns are limiting enough, and there is the system in place to reset them in other instances, why not in duties?

This. This should already be a thing... give me my raging strikes damnit.

Better yet, get rid of the wait on cooldowns entirely. I don't know the reason why every time I change jobs outside a sanctuary, I need to wait on everything to reset, but it can't be a valid one.

We've been asking for this for forever. But c'est la vie.

Pls. We need this! The number of times I have had people say wait after I have blown my CD's on the last few seconds of the countdown is astounding.

Potions need to reset too after a wipe. The main thing my static has had to wait on was that long potion cooldown, more than anything else.....
