Half our raid group is currently getting lag spikes on Excalibur.
Yep. Been doing Alexander Savage 1, and all of us have been experiencing some serious lag spikes.
Had some bad lag spikes earlier on Cactuar. Thought it might just have been my internet.
Been spiking here on Ultros, rather sudden before disappearing again for a while.

Here is the report pining to Famfrit.
I've had issues with lag the past day or so, but it comes and goes. I haven't heard anyone else on my server have issues though.
Edit: Yeah, I'm Comcast as well, and the lag seems to be getting worse today.
Just had a Thordan farm fail and break up cause both of the healers and the monk kept having 3-4s lag spikes.
Yea just had half our group DC and or lag in savage this doesn't normally happen
My wife and I have both been suffereing from lag the past two nights on Adamantoise server.
Are you all using comcast as your ISP? I made a thread on reddit and it seems that comcast is the general census.
Can confirm Comcast here as well as my other west coast raiders on on comcast.
West coast, but I'm a possible anomaly as I am not with Comcast here.
Mountain Time; Primal Data center. Many people qued with were lagging terribly. Renewed my sub a few days ago and this is the thanks I get, SE >.> sometimes I really hate you guys.
Same, unplayable without wtfast. Been going on for 2-3 days now.
West coast, Comcast, unplayable lag without wtfast as well. Denver to Chicago seems to be the biggest problem area.
FL/comcast./ps4/PC
had the service for years never experience lag like this, been like 2 or 3 days same situation as the rest of The comments.
Ps4 lag much more.
Update on my end, still pretty bad, if not worse. It was fine earlier today.
I had a little lag yesterday, just logged on tonight and the game is unplayable. Famfrit server, Comcast east coast.
Yup, getting mad lag spikes since yesterday. Comcast here as well, Pittsburgh.
I've been getting lag spikes since yesterday along with other people in my FC. We all have Comcast, so its pretty much confirmed.
Comcast here getting lag.
Sargatanas about 10% packet loss on the final hop.
Comcast here, Southern NH. Just failed a dungeon 4 times because the lag was so bad the spikes make the game unplayable.
8% packet loss reported to Excalibur server.
All other internet services working fine. Able to stream HD video and browse without any problems.
Unplayable lag, FL, Mediacom. Every other online game I play is fine. So much for getting anything done today before the reset.
I almost never get lag, but tonight it's been so bad my raid group had to call it a night after like 15 minutes.
I am in Georgia and also use Comcast. There was no lag earlier, but I logged in tonight and was lagging a bit while doing dungeons and gathering.
Are you sure that is the IP you are now using? I don't mean looking it up at ARR Status either---those haven't been entirely accurate for well over a year now. Have you looked up what IP you are using when fully logged into the game (with something like resmon or netstat)?
Reason I ask is we have seen a lot of people got switched to IP's above 100 when they broke out the new EU location. Those older lower IP's may not be actually hosting world services now.
Edit: Looks like 199.91.189.39 may not be running world service anymore. It is still responding to pings when things are down for the patch--should be timing out when the worlds are taken down. Did catch a hop in the Newark area that is going AWOL atm though when pinging around just now. So, looks like more of the usual infrastructure crud we've wrangled with for nigh on 20 years now.
Comcast Indiana east chicago, ive been having lag and connection issues since patch 3.1 went live.
I've had this problem since Friday. I have Comcast too, and I'm in Chicago, and as soon as it leaves the city and hits the Level3 point (hop 4) I get "request timed out". Lost packets all over, 2 second delays. It made even chocobo racing a rubber-banding nightmare.
Tonight I had the same issues, so I installed VyprVPN on a recommendation for alternatives to WTFast. I first tried NY's server but while I got better packet reception the ping was not much better. Picking the Canada server (in Toronto) and my experience smoothed out substantially. I'm going to have to see how it looks after maintenance, but unless S-E harasses Level3 for whatever is causing this traffic jam, I doubt anything will improve.
EDIT: also to anyone who wants to tracert to Excalibur the IP I used as a reference point is 199.91.189.35
ps3 player comcast playing on Jp
Weird lag spikes in instenced servers like chocobo races and verminion. Also random lag spikes in empty zones.
On my alt on sargatanas was getting lag in vesper bay.
Northern Virginia, Comcast. Lag on Faerie in the open world for the last two days, especially bad starting in the evening it seems.
Tonberry, had a several player including me lagging inside Thordan, but not outside Thordan, both our connections are fine.
May want to verify what address you actually use once we can get back in game (resmon or netstat when fully logged in). The IP's got reshuffled with the opening of the new EU datacenter--many are now above 100. That .35 IP (amongst others in the lower ranges) are still responding to pings when the worlds have gone offline. They shouldn't be. The newer ones we've seen in play since the new EU datacenter opened are currently down as they should be.
I notice that the lag is at its peak during the evenings EST but not bad at all in the mornings. I was trying to play a few hours ago and couldn't because the lag was so bad. I ended up just calling it a night.
I think they fixed it trace route showing no packet loss now.
Anyone been in game post-hotfix downtime that can verify if it is fixed?
I'd have to wait until tonight to say for sure, since that's when my lag usually spurs the past few days.
Nope, still having spikes in Tonberry.
I had some quite bad rubber banding (chocobo suddenly stopping then racing ahead) on chocobo racing last night playing with 7 NPC's
