I think it will be a free download, but you will still have to have a Product Key. Obviously, people who already have XIV already have a Product Key.

I think the OP is asking if we'll get the collectors edition of FF14 version 2.0 when they re-release it in the market if we currently HAVE the original FF14 Collectors Edition.

As in, do we get special little items that the new CE will have if we have the old CE.

Uhm, we WILL keep our current items, classes characters etc. right? xD I thought they would just send it over the updater for ffxiv ..

Please do read the documents before asking questions? Yes. Everything will be retained, and if you don't like your current character you'll also be able to recustomize him and change race and genre.

All what Abriael said, I assume we will have like a week or two downtime as they transition all our information to a new server... but who knows maybe less? I would assume no that we do not get the CE items from the ffxiv disc... but they may not even have a CE for it tbh... if it is an ingame item I assume it would be something we get as the yearly reward for playing. Funny thing is though... if you change to a new race... that means you have to buy new undergarments... save up your cloth items lol.

I very much hope we get CE items if they make a new one. The hat sucked and the art-book is very much irrelevant now.

The OP posted a two part question regarding the Collector's Edition 2.0. Will there be a Collector's Edition 2.0 (in addition to the regular 2.0 that we'll be getting)? If there is a Collector's Edition 2.0 with exclusive items the way people got Onion Helmets, Garland Goggles, or other such items, will the CE 1.0 people automatically receive these?
