TL;DR Please post what you'd like to see or see more of in FFXIV. If your vote never shows as being counted, please read the rest and adjust accordingly

I'd like to start a community-driven priority poll of what we, the players of FFXIV, want to see in the game. In correspondence with the posts made to this thread, I will update the list in order with respect to the number of times the feature was mentioned in postings. The items will be listed in an order to get a sense of the communities desire to see certain content over other forms of content.

Some rules and expectations. I do not have any personal relation with the development team, and this thread is purely designed to be something that a moderator may one day pass forward to the development team. There are no guarantees the items on this list will be added to FFXIV. With luck, a developer may be made notified of this thread and forward the results to whoever it may concern.

In addition, player postings of desired content can be adjustments to current content, be they about jobs, content, items, visual/audio, etc. or they can be related to brand new content not yet in the game. Troll, non-constructive critique, or unclear/vague suggestions will not be counted. You may post more than one desired content per post, but please remember I am a human being :) Do your best to be reasonable with your desire and ensure that it is a desire you absolutely want in the game. You can also be specific, if your desire is to see something from a prior FF come into the game.

I will personally update the list on a daily basis in correspondence with the posts. Whilst I have time to play the game, I may update the list every few hours. As I look into the implications of certain suggestions, I will consolidate certain desires into other categories to make sure what is being asked is a unique enough request to be considered it's own desire.

1). Main Story Quests - The thing I enjoy most in FFXIV, I feel it needs far more love than it got in 3.1. :(

2). Addon API - I can't believe it's been so long and the development team has yet to bring us a basic addon API, we haven't even got any information recently. To top it all off, a player has developed an alpha for a addon framework, before SE has managed anything.

3). Instanced Content - Raids (including 24 mans) > Trials > Dungeons.

4). Glamour - Things like gear, hairstyles, mounts, minions and so on.

5). PvP Content - Can't say I care too much for PvP in its current state, and won't care unless they make major overhauls in regards to balance.

6). Gold Saucer Content - Minigames like Lov, Triple Triad and Chocobo Racing.

7). New "SE designed" content - SE has yet to prove they can actually develop something new and have it be fun and exciting, so this is at the bottom for me. I'd prefer they just took a look at other MMOs, saw what looks good, and then implemented it in FFXIV. cough Legion artifact weapons cough

My personal desires (for real and example purposes)

1- Enhanced Clothing/Hair Physics
I'm aware this would be difficult with current limitations, but I dream :)

2- Machinist Animation Adjustments
Specifically Gauss Barrel, both the attachment and the casting animations

3- Role Roulette for Duty Finder for players with multiple-able jobs
A fun way to randomize duties for players with a lot of different jobs, whether they have multiple jobs in the same role, or don't care which role they end up playing with any of their able jobs.

4- Surecast allows movement while casting
For BLM's and other affected jobs to gain some minor mobility options and add uses to Surecast, may have to increase cooldown

PvP. Give it the adjustments it needs and deserves. Not all of us like to raid.

For me it would be more dungeons, trials and glamour. I love running dungeons and enjoy collecting armour sets and clothing sets and putting together outfits.

1. Multiple paths in dungeons, multiple floors, shortcuts with mini-bosses instead of trash packs so people can choose their route and explore.

2. Horizontal progression with interesting equipment status and a lot of more ways to gear (including relevant Dungeon Gear).

3. Adjustments to current DPS meta where healer's and tank's ability are measured by how much DPS they can do.

4. Readjustments to the Armory System (give the new jobs a base class, or remove the base classes altogether, giving each job an updated skillset, SCH would become a new starter healer).

5. Adjustments to iLV or a new system to measure item power, need to be implemented to all equipments, old and new.

6. Main Story Quests, more encounters like Raubahn's rescue in Halatali or The Vault Assault where we can battle alongside our NPC friends.

7. Add NPCs to party list in instanced battles.

8. High resolution textures for everything.

9. (Probably a pipe dream so I'll put it in 9) Map creating algorithm for random maps in Explorations.

1. Your character to be a badass in story missions.. and stop hiding behind NPCs.. that is all..

1 - Character designs. FF is a beautiful game and is lacking terribly with character creation. More colours, skins, hair styles ect.

2 - Fix the terrible balance with gear. Diadem gear should not be better or the same as gear earned from AS.

3 - Fix PvP. Over an hour queues are unacceptable especially when so many achievements and rewards are tied in with it.

1. I want in future all glamour gear should be "UNISEX" not gender locked.

2. No more standing and sheathe your weapon while on story quest. Use some of past animation and put it to our main character.

3. Diadem's Cave need more attention.

4. Please dye all dungeon/raid gear such as Void Ark.

5. Put the Supra/Lucis Item and Augmented AF1 gear to Armoire. Why this haven't done yet :(

6. Healer need appreciation in PvP. Mostly people don't want become healer because healer = punching bag for enemy.

7. Instance House please?

1) Glamour - Need more cute hats.
2) Cash shop - Need more items, Cute ones unique to the cash shop. Not old Event items.
3) Dungeons - I like running dungeons for Cute stuffs.
4) FFXV Event - 4x Male(Noctis, Gladiolus,Ignis,Prompto) Gender Locked outfits, and 1 Female(Cindy) Outfit
5) FFXV Car - Need the Car for the Outfits - I would also like this mount to be male gender locked. Female characters can't obtain this mount.

More gold saucer fun!

And release new job faster. every two years won't cut it.

1) Much more housing property for sale.

For far too long this rather large aspect of the game (which continues to receive additional updates in the form of crafted items, event awards, and additional content tied to housing) has been restricted to a small percentage of the playerbase due to limited availability. It's time it became a priority to make housing available to everyone who can afford a property lot. That means ensuring there are enough homes for *every player*.

Convince SE to take the XI staff and integrate them with the XIV. Have the XI staff focus on adjustments to what's currently in the game while the current staff continues to make content or vise-versa.

Rework the class/job system: make job branches from class at level 10, give the job its own skills/traits tree. Each existing class can have potentially a second job.

For extra jobs: make them being "extra" so that you can choose between roles while playing the same job. (DRK tank/dps, DNC tank/healer, RDM tank/healer/dps, SAM tank/dps)

1. Add more than two or three hairstyles every couple of months. At least five or six if your going to have us wait so long.

2. Reduce the prices for optional items in Mog Station. They all cost far too much just to by one or multiple of the same thing.

3. Let use change our retainer's hairstyles. If we can hire a retainer, then we should be able to change their appearance whenever we want to, like what we can do with our main characters.

4. Get rid of certain cross skills for classes that are just plain useless, like Savage Blade for DRK and Cure and Revive for Paladin, or make them useful.

5. Either give us more Retainers for free to hire, or expand how much each can hold, because as many people have said before. With Heavensward further expanding the game, we need far more room to store all the items and gear we want to collect and don't want to get rid of them because of lack of space.

6. Make it so that certain ememies, like the beast tribes, can do more status effects than just slow, because really all it is is annoying.

Along with the PvP implementations in 3.2, it would be nice to have an area outside of wolves' den/frontline where players can test abilities against each other (maybe a small designated area in Wolves' Den Pier). New arena maps + smaller team battles (CTF and two teams only) would be great as well.

1. Open World/Server Content
2. More useful gear, stop giving us gear that's like 30 levels lower. I want more than 2 "optimal 210 sets." If you want raid gear to be max, make it 215 then or something. If you wanted "gear progression" introduce it WHILE it's relevant, not when no one wants it.
3. More housing items, mirror-able housing items.

if I had to just pick a few..

1) Gear to actually grind for and gear worth grinding for.
2) Challenging content so that the gear I've worked for has a purpose.
3) Challenging content that doesn't get nerfed.
4) My character not being a helpless dummy in cutscenes anymore.
5) No more five hour long PVP queue.
6) When the next race is released - that it isn't just another human with a different animal part stuck on their head/butt.
7) Synced "couple" animations between two people - dances, hugs, etc!

This is horribly imbalanced. Could you please change it to ONE of the main character outfits? Noctis' outfit should be available to both genders like Clouds' outfit is. Also the gender locked mount is awful.

I would like:

more MSQ per patch, it feels like it finishes way too fast for my tastes
More dungeons
using the proper elemental magicks to matter (Ice on ifrit, etc, fire should never DAMAGE a bomb)
more glamour

Inventory- for one, purchasing an expansion should get you a free retainer IMO. We do need relief for storage issues, whatever form(s) that relief may take.
A complete wardrobe (glamour) system. A glamour log would go some way towards solving inventory issues.
Additional character creation option- faces yes definitely, more face options. There is just not enough variety.

As beautiful and sweeping a game as FFXIV is, I am really surprised the above are even issues and weren't seen to early on.

I want to see kick vote removed from the game ^

a bigger involvement from the in-game mods or support or any of the staff related to abuse of vote kick and strict sanctions on abuse
I wish for solo dungeons
I wish for education
I wish for respect
I wish for integrity
I wish for relation of group rather then solo in a group
I wish for more housing and more afordable or a private studio for all and those that want a house go for it
Hard content with changing mechanics so that nobody really knows what to expect once Inside
more relevant stuff for crafters
more inventory space
separate inventory for fishers and lures


well I think is all

1. Character design needs improvements, we might have alot of hairstyles, but FFXIV lacks in the rest of the things. 4 faces is bad.
2. PvP needs to be changed, new modes make the previous ones obsolute, the GC requirements needs to GO PRONTO!
3. SE needs to hire more staff and improve the server/client memory thingy. Everytime we ask for more stuff like inventory, new modes, butt slider, the answer is always either "we have a server memory blablabla issue and can sadly not add these features, or their staff is to small."

1. Whether it be through reusing animations , a cutscene weapon, or a duel system like dark cloud determining a minor outcome, Our character needs to be more active in involved in action cutscenes. Make us part of the action, rather than on the sidelines.

2. More usage of voice, even the grunts and mutterings we have(though a more perfect scenario would be more added), would be nice.

3. Stats, and their weights, should be given another look, especially secondaries like parry.

4. Living/walking dead. Can we have an effect for walking dead? Healers have a tendency to miss that we are under a death sentence during walking dead.

There is a few thing that I really really want including storage space but...

For me the most important thing is the character creation, making the character you want to make, being what you are.

The second one is also related to the character creation, better character animation and emote (choice).

That's why I want better animation and emote for each race. Gender is not by anymean a binary, not just female and male. You should be able to choice which character personality is good for your own character, either masculine or feminine. Again more choice and option is always make the character more unique.

While I somewhat agree with no. 4, no. 5 is ridiculous beyond belief.

This seems like an ambitious undertaking, but what the heck.

1) PVP adjustments (remove GC limitations, mostly)

2) Horizontal gear progression

3) More Housing plots

1. Reduce Skill bloat

Challeging 4-Man Raids
More Elaborate Guildheists

1) Raid Roulette, and easy-mode raids (to allow everybody to see the story)
2) MSQ ! I want to see how story ends right now, not in 2030 ! ^^
3) More relevant crafts. Crafted equipment should be better than the stuff you get from doing tomestomes. Or maybe being able to change your esoteric equipment to HQ esoteric using your crafter classes and some rare items. I don't know. I just want crafter to be useful.
4) SCH and SUM as separated classes, or second job for every class.

Alexander Savage or Thordan EX would be close to impossible with DF, people still fail Bismarck EX!

1.) More midcore/challenging content. Our current options are face roll easy/ auto pilot mode, or very few and limited hardcore raids. Either add something in between or expand the amount of raid content. The game has a wider audience than 98% glamour farmers and 2% harcore players.

2.) Job customization. Skill trees and specializations are a good example. I think the materia revamp would be the easiest way to introduce this. For example, implement job specific materia with ability modification I.e. increases crit chance of death flare by 10% or extends huton refresh effect by 10 seconds when using armor crush.

3.) API/ add-on support. The UI is clunky. Just let us fix it already.

3) Make the current armor rewards in the new dungeons part of a series of upgrade recipes for crafters (iLv for the resulting armor can be 195-200)

Never, at any point in the history of this game, has it catered to raiders. Not once. This game and 98% of its content is catered to people obsessed to playing dress up with their underage catgirls. There's next to no incentive to raid. You can get equivalent gear (gear far stronger than you need because you don't bother to attempt anything challenging enough to require it) by running one absurdly easy dungeon once a day.

The delusions...
