Coil rebranded for level 60 thoughts?

Just a thought, if coil was adjusted to the same difficulty as it was at level 50 would you be interested?

Same mechanics just boss hp and dmg increased.

Maybe dropping i190 first coil, i200 second coil, i205 for final coil

Or even just adding this as an alternate source of eso farming

That would make it extremely boring. I don't enjoy doing the same mechanics with inflated stats. That's not harder; it's just more time wasted.

One point of consideration is that the new abilities can change a job's capabilities rather drastically.

All that said, yes. Going back to level 50 rotations/skillsets sucks.

Indeed it wouldn't make it harder, but would at least let newer players or those who never did it experience these mechanics.

so we redo the coils but keep all new level 60 skills that would be awesome

that's what the minimum ilvl setting in the DF menu is for.

The problem with that is it locks you out of the rotation you've been living by for all other endgame content.

Now if there was a sync that allowed people to keep their level 60 abilities... that would be nice.

I'm pretty sure if you use both the Undersized and the Minimum iLvl together, you end up at 60, but with just your iLvl synced, so you can still do your new stuff

I wasn't looking at this wanting it harder, it just gives more options on what you can do at 60. Gives players a chance to experience it without undersizing and completely facerolling it. Level 50 rotations aint anybody got time for that

Unless there is an incentive to do it, I can't see it being a popular choice.

As cool as the idea of revisiting coil is.
the idea you have for it to be just the same thing just high HP leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.

the best ways to revive coil would be:
New gear 210+
New Routes, New Bosses, New Story.

First and most important. GEAR! players need incentive to do the content. Offer us Gear that is on par with what ever current content is going on.
New Routes would make it more interesting as well. as amazing as coil was back in its heyday going through the same path again wouldn't be enjoyable
New bosses, we already figured out and mastered the old bosses we need new challenges new heights to surpass.
Why are we returning? whats the story? is this another "bard's Tale"?

While i give your idea my admiration, understand that i don't support it.

What you COULD do:
Build a small elite group that wants to do Synced level 50 runs.

that would be turn 1 with an ilevel of 70. /shudder im getting goosebumps thinking about it!!

What a waste of time.

You can already go back with level sync if you want to do it as it was intended. Just do that.

We don't need that we have level (and gear) sync.

If it is redone, I'd want it to have a normal mode like Alexander. I'd want it to be a less-punishing fight that still has mild-moderate DPS checks and mechanics.

Thordan ex with its use of some old final coil just stirs some fond memories of farming this content in the past, although yes we can run this synced min ilvl etc etc finding players willing to do this is the challenge.

We all know Alex with its highly tuned A3s is what's causing many statics to break up, just offering a different raid type to do together could help keep them entertained.

Atm we have faceroll alex normal, rng zergfest diadem or static breaking alex savage as our only options

If they were to rebrand coil, I think it would be a good idea. Perhaps, instead of getting gear out of there, they could just have the allagan stuff drop as glamour. Make it dyeable too. But it would just be a white with no stats, etc.

People have been clamoring for dyeable allagan gear for a long time on this forum.

They are doing the quest-sync so it's not like they don't have the algorithms and damage/hp calculations in place for this idea.

It still wouldn't be the same though as the new job mechanics are very different for the various classes so some jobs are going to be better at 50 and others better at 60 (BLM and BRD being some prime examples where gameplay changes are profound between 50 and 60).

Maybe if there's enough demand, we'll see this type of thing being applied to all the dungeons and raids. Otherwise, I think there's a lot better things for the dev team to be working on than rehashing old content.

No thanks, would rather see resourses put to new content instead of rehashing old content.

Right now you have the option of unsync, sync, and min ilvl sync to cover what you wanted. The only thing you wouldn't get is the loot you requested. There are a ton of options for people who want to run it for the experience. What you requested is already a thing.

I imagine we will see it rehashed as dyeable crafted gear, even if we have to wait until the next xpac.

So this idea, would be a new level of Savage or the original instances? I ask cause elevating the difficulty of the original instances seems alot like trying to force people to 'get on your level' and deprive them of Coil's story, one of the reasons Coil was reduced in difficulty and Savage made a thing. But if it's just another level of Savage I can see that, would be interesting.

Indeed this, that's where I feel perhaps lv 60 coil could maybe be for the midcore groups, these are stuck firmly on a3s with no other options available.

Alex normal has already shown the story, savage is just for gear.
