Are they adding MSQ in 3.15?

I really found the 3.1 mainquest really underwhelming, kinda done too quick (did even talk to all npcs on the area, regardless of quest or not, wich was quite funny lorewise)

but it honestly felt short ending in some more cliffhangers. Honestly, MSQ ''interesting'' stuff was shown in the 3.1 trailer, all but one or 2 things...

so i wonder, we didn't had any type of trial or anything, and honestly it just felt short? Anyone knows if SE said anything regarding it/regarding MSQ in 3.15?

Most likely not, and I agree. The quests were alright, but like 2.1, mostly filler to set up the story for the rest of the 3.x cycle.

I honestly liked these quests alot. Laughed at Krile ''Really?'' for about 5 minutes. i think they were nicely done but like you said, just felt like its onlt setting for later on.

Feels like 2.5 where you only got little amount of quest too because the rest would come in 2.55. There is now... of hooks...

Omega (still, and probably will be connected to one of the last CS of 3.1),
Warring triad,
Widhog/dragonsong war/ishgard.
The missing scion.
Elidibus and the warriors of darkness.
The garleans that are in azys lla (area thats barely used still),nd lets not forget the 2 other sons of Midargsormr, wich in our story plays the role of the chorus of tragedy. A near god like creature that forsees some parts of the future always ending in the glorification of the character. Also very wise, wise enough to not set foot in the forelands to say hi to the Warriors of Darkness.

There was an interview when during a question about Krile, Yoshi P said that rather than try and fit all the plot threads into a single quest chain they want to do separate quest chains for the different threads so the one chain doesn't get crowded. At least that's what the translation seemed to say.

Now the 3.1 story most definitely seem to be setting that up but how they progress with that is hard to say yet. In 3.1 we will have a quest chain involving the Saint Endalim Scholasticate. That is basically the center of Ishgard's scholarly and theological studies and considering what Ishgard, being a theocracy, is going through at the moment, I could easily see this quest chain as being relevant to the MSQ plot threads. Wether this is actually one of those 'branching questlines' is something we are yet to see. Personally though I think seeing how Ishgard's church is dealing with the rather massive truth that has fractured its thousand year old dogma could be pretty interesting.

I doubt they would add MSQ in 3.15. I have to agree though. The MSQ in 3.1 felt really short and underwhelming. I remember thinking, "That was fast" when I completed the MSQ, and I didn't even rush it. Only part I truly enjoyed was the final fight in the Vault. It's definitely not as interesting or long as the MSQ in 2.X.

I really enjoyed the part in the Vault. I hope they add more parts like that in the MSQ.

Generally speaking, it does seem they have decided to reduce the amount of content available per patch: we got 1 trial (just ex mode) and 2 dungeon (bad idea, 3 was working fine) when we used to have 3 dungeon and two modes per trial (HM and EX).
I enjoyed the MSQ as well. the story didn't stretch that far, but it was just like in 2.1 where the most exciting thing was learning about Minfilia's past and moving The Scions HQ from a city to another. Still, 3.1 MSQs were far more exciting than 2.1
If they keep with this pace, I wouldn't expect new MSQs until 3.2 and probably we won't get tons of them ...

Well, if they keep that pace, seems they are either overwhelmed by.. other games that needs to be out of Square-Enix and then they need all the workforce they can get, including those from FFXIV.

or They lack ideas, which we would gladly offer them, if they ever read these threads. I mean, if mods would then give the proper feedback to them, since it's in English.

It was done in one evening, and I'm casual. so yeah, too short, still out of side quests, now it's the same old.

Spoiler to help with Vanu Vanu beast tribes quest for rank 4 to 5 (not sure if it's the right one)

Once you will have gone to vanu vali and killed the 3 mobs, you get a broken sanuwa horn that you need to give to vanu valu (thought it was a typo) then of course, vanu vali, even if on the map you see that you can give her the horn shown by the symbol of the quest, it's actually just below her into a nest that Vanu Valu resides and needs help!

I thought Valu and Vali they made a mistake, so I used up my 2 dailies to try to fix, thought it was broken since some said some quests were broken..

so it's not, it's my mistake, I put it here so you don't make it for you and save 100 reputation points ;)

Hopefully they'll do something good with 3.15 (can't just be the relic i'm sure of it! <- think positive ^^) if that's the case I won't bother to get my Excalibur so that I can enjoy the first phase of the 3.15 relic, to keep me entertained.

in the meantime, waiting for my GF to get iLvl170 to continue our journey together ;)

yet to do Alex Normal, Diadem, the 2 New Dungeons, Thordan EX, heck even all EX with GF, i'm excited, but it's long getting those Tomes when you play casually >.<

you might not like Diadem but don't pretend it's not a thing. as bad as it is to me, it's still better than a 3rd dungeon. and HM trials have been meaningless since Ultima. especially the ones that drop nothing and are simply reduced versions of the EX mode (Leviathan, Ramuh, Shiva). the Vault portion of the MSQ is equal if not better than those useless HMs.

3.1 doesn't have tons of content but it's not noticeably less than before.

my bet is that they are short on people, whats worse is that if we notice it, they have noticed it ages ago and nothing has changed in the meanwhile.

i like diadem (HM isn't that muchfun) but i enjoy diadem if i got a party of friends. its just sad its not as ''exploratory''. maybe if completing all requirments was mandatory (people would prolly not do them) but it gives you more of an objective rather than completing 3 and farming dinoland.

The part in Halatali during 3.0 was also excellent. I only wish you could replay story instances without rolling an alt.

Disagree. 1 week later and I've noticed.

-short MSQ (first MSQ update to not include a trial as part of the story)
-No new primal (Thordan is not new)
-1 less dungeon (I can confidently now say that this decision is hurting the game)
-no side story (Hidebrand-esque) content.
-no relics (hard to believe we are 5 months into Heavensward and these still aren't out)

Of all the major patches, it's the smallest, and took the longest to create. Going to need a quick turn-around for 3.2. If they try to stretch 3.1 for 4-5 months, there will be tumbleweeds rolling through Idyllshire.

3.15, coming out mid Dec, is bringing both the relics and a sidequest line called Saint Endalim Scholasticate

I much prefer the tighter story quests. Every quest served a purpose and moved the story forward. No longer do I need to go fetch some ingredients for a herbal tea because precious minfilia is stressed out. Or being asked to check on Staflbon (guy that lets you into Cid's workshop in Mor Dhona) to see if he needs a hand with anything! Like wtf?! I hope they stick with this format for the story it was very engaging.

Besides being the smallest and the one that took the longest to be available, it's BY FAR the most bugged patch of all time.

DF issues, all kinds of Vanu Vanu beast tribe bugs, all kinds of Diadem bugs, even the wrong amount of materials for red token mats exchange, just to name a few...

This and don't forget the Pet Battle. Both new systems will have taken a lot of development time.
If 3.15 brings Relic and an additional Side Quest Chain in mid. December, than I take that model for the future with bigger Content for 3.x Patches and some smaler Content in between of 3.x5 Patches.

Anyway, I want to see al Relic Weapons, show them to us SE :D

I felt that the MSQ quests were a bit thin, but that the Void Ark story made up for it. The final cutscene there was as beefy as any in the 3.1 chain.

The new dungeons were beautifully designed, but the quest lead ins were not exciting at all. It's like someone spent all their effort on a perfect science project, with beautiful printed labels and perfect charts and graphs and rock solid results, then realized the morning of the science fair that they'd never actually written up the "introduction" or "conclusion" for their display board, and hastily slapped it onto the display in marker at the last second.

Well, the MSQ this time is 9 quests long. However, a large portion of the quests are just going to Point A to Point B and that's about it, making it feel even more shorter than it actually is. I mentioned 2.1 was mostly filler quests to just give the patch a continuation of the main story, but even that had a little more meat to it compared to 3.1.

Yeah, that was undoubtedly the highlight of the main scenario quest. Aside from the usual trial per patch, I'm hoping to see more instances like this integrated in the main scenario.

I find my lack of fighting Derplander disturbing.

I agree, though, that patch 3.1 does feel smaller and I do attune it to the lack of a 3rd EX dungeon. Honestly, when you think about it, there is no need for an additional EX primal fight.

We're mid november already and they said early december for 3.15. Shouldn't they be teasing the relics? I mean, I haven't seen anything about them outside of a sketch of a DRK and AST weapons that we don't even know if they are really Relics or just new instances weapons...
