Will we ever see

Will we ever see anything like FFXIs or World of Warcrafts transportation system?

Runescape lets you teleport everywhere but even still there are not as many instant teleports as in this game.

No I don't want to walk and mount everywhere. I also don't want to take boats and airships everywhere but for some bit of it...

World of Warcrafts transportation system between all its methods is really viable.

The game feels so small sometimes. There's like what... Nearly 30 artherytes? It's a bit much.

Instantly teleporting anywhere and everywhere defeats the purpose of both taxes and hub cities as well.

People just AFK where ever is most convenient or visually pleasing.

Honestly, slowing down travel will only serve to make the world feel artificially bigger than it is. XI's airships did the opposite, they took a large world and made it smaller. Same with it's ferries. You could still teleport but it required you leveled/partied certain Jobs and they dropped you at hubs that often still required you travel on foot the rest of the way. XIV's world outside of Heavensward is nowhere near as big as XI's, much less WoW's. In XI if you knew all the shortcuts it'd take a half hour to cross the main continents from city to city. XIV not even half that. Little point not to make a trivial journey even moreso.

I still wish for XIV to have a bigger world. Its a bit late now as there's a pattern ad I do't see it changing now, one can dream though. Like getting rid of the instances and mashing all the areas together in one giant world. I mean why not? There's really no point, the world feels disjointed and small. You don't really have a sense of traveling a world in this game, but rather small-large instances. That's my main dislike of the game, and pretty much everyone I know too. It works in WoW because there's a huge world with zeppelin and boats, there's no loading screens unless you travel cross continent (or enter a dungeon/raid, etc) so you can just fly up high and click autorun and alt-tab, or take the flight paths.

anyone here actually play 1.0, the land mass were pretty big, filled with mobs ranging from 1-90 with player cap @ 50.
Also the claim of players finding copypasta map sections. The world was large and empty, and each zobe had several servers and players would poof between them

Wow is a graphically simplistic game on pc only it can handle the "seemless" map.

in 1.0 the gate of nald to the royal allag was inb 1 map. and drybone was not a far run. Treespeak was actually a higher level then it is now. And hystmill was A PAIN to get to, you had level 90 diremite blocking the paths. '

With Limsa you could go from the main gate toorchans torch rather easily infaxct a lvl 4 escort mission with sisipu took you there.

I personally like the way teleportation is, i don't the the world is all that small, it is all on perspective.

That's really no excuse in this day and age, with the advanced texture and model streaming found in today's games in can be done fairly simply. Your computer won't be rendering the next area or, or the next one after that, or even the current one in its entirety. It'll be loading very low quality textures and modified objects with an extremely low polygon count to converse resources for the areas around you. This is how 99% of open world games work, including WoW. It's already used in MMOs, including Black Desert which is far more impressive visually, and will also be releasing on PS4 at a future date.

When you don't Even have to leave the city to do any content it becomes quite small.

Flying into naxxramas and ice crown was cool.

I'm all for instant teleports but there's too many. i would cut it from 30 to probably 6

one major city of the players choice and one per "region".

Areas central to Limsa maps, Uldsh Maps, grid maps.

Excluding sea of clouds and azys ila which can become regions of their own with added maps in the future.

Or keep it all the same as it is and do something new in the next expac

like yesterday. I was in sashtadha just before the final boss and the sun was rising in the background through the holes in the cave walls and I had to stop and was like wow.

There aren't very many moments like that in the game right now.

Because I enjoy this games seamless combat and epic story. Which other MMOs do not have.

I'm sorry I should just leave because I think things could be done to breathe new life into the currently dull world

1.0 only had loading zones when you left regions (i.e the Shroud to Mor Dhona). The zones were huge, high res, and you would pass the same hill or stream or rock every minute. If small zones are the trade-off for the current beauty, then I'll take it.

My screenshot folder is full of countless shots of sunrises/sunsets and other pretty scenes I run across.

If you spend a lot of time in the open world gathering or hunting, you'll see them. ^^

I don't think they made the world feel smaller, but it did make the world feel like it was alive and not on demand for everything. If you missed the airship you had to wait till the next one came and was a actual ride just now a CS that could be skipped.

One thing I really liked was you could see the airship flying over an area and be like "hey. There's probably somebody on that"

And they could be on the airship flying above and they were both synced in real time.

i mean they have these gorgeous environments that outside of the MSQ for your first time you never have reason to see again or go back to.

Hunts are toxic and just tunnel vision to the target. Gathering is boring.

You aren't supposed to have to go and look for nice things. It's just supposed to be a part of the world you play in.
