GATE - Why is it still every 30?

I understand that your trying to bring people back to the gold saucer by increasing the amount of MGP people can earn, but what I don't understand is your 'solution' to GATEs.

You increased the reward on them, but they still only happen every 30 minutes. Why didn't you just leave the rewards alone and increase the rate to every 10 or even 15 minutes? Specially when anything that happens in the event square requires you to sign up for it within a minute or you can't do it.

Yea it really should happen more often. It would also be nice if they said what event it was in the chocobo/minion areas too, instead of just the general "event has commenced" message. I hate having to port down just to see what Gate was up.

This would be great if Any Way the Wind Blows could come up more frequently to give me more chances.

I haven't won that GATE since about May due to very bad luck. I usually get blown away on the very first breath. Correctly guessing where to stand 5 times in a row seems so unlikely, and you need the win 10 times for the title.

GATEs are quite fun! But every 30m is a bit too long of a wait. I think reducing it to 15m should be fine, especially since there isn't that many people in the GS anymore.

If they made the events happen more frequently, they would lower the rewards to compensate.

Even if they did decrease it, the MGP per hour would remain the same if they cut the spawn timer in half. As another up side, it might bring more people to be interested in them which would give them a reason to make additional ones beyond the 6 we have.

The other thing is some GATEs can be a little lengthy, so they would probably have to make the games end sooner so that the next GATE comes without interruptions. Not good for games like the vase and glamour where you do need time to finish them.

that or allow what theres a mainsquare gate and a no mainsquare gates active at the same time

Even if it's every 15 min, you earn only 1000 MGP (more or less depends of the GATE)
It's still so small to compensate the fact that you need to "camp them" to be able to "farm" them... playing TT against the lazy garlean guard is still better reward for low difficulty...
It's the same for the chocobo race, if the reward were better, people would grind them a bit more, right now, it's like 3 min for 170 MGP at low level (and it's a looooong way to be high level) Playing the new minigame (botanist precisely) is much easier and faster too. (i can win at least 160MGP every minute or so)

TL;DR : The MGP reward are too low for "casual playing", you must farm them 24/7 to earn 1M MGP... (and it still not enough)

This ^ I barely ever win it and now I'm pissed because the prize is 3k mgp for winning and they make it so hard to win. I become on the verge of tears after losing. Ive lost on the 4th/5th breath before.

I manage to win Any Way the Wind Blows once and never again... I don't care for the Achievements too. That's WAY too luck-base to beat it, at least give us a hint during it so we can predict where he's going. Not a lot of people play that GATE on my server.

It's frustrating. I've seen people sit in one particular spot and not move at all end up winning - but that feels very cheap and isn't really playing it as intended. Forcing players to spread out and having the wind appear on the largest gathering of players would make it much more engaging.

I think Any Way the Wind Blows should give Gil based on when you get knocked off. It's so painful to wait so long for that one and walk away with nothing.

Since it's 100% luck, it'd be nice if you got x amount of gil for each one you dodge.

As for GATE timing, it'd be nice if they shifted the time. Too many times I find GATEs spawning at the same time as unspoiled nodes.

If GATEs happened more often, it would just interfere with someone else and more often. I like GATEs at 30 because odds are I can accomplish something else in between them, such as a quick duty on my healer or tank classes, trial with DPS queue wait time, wait for Frontlines to pop, or do some crafting. If you choose to take that time to gather, it's all about which you prioritize first: gathering, or MGP gain? You cannot always have both.
