So yesterday, I made a thread in the General Discussion forums showing that Cloud Strife made it into the current Super Smash Bros and congratulated SE for getting a character in. Come today, I receive an email telling me that the thread was deleted for not pertaining to XIV and was in violation of the User Agreement...
I guess SE only wants threads that are player suggestions and concerns they'll just ignore, rants that will spiral out of control, and silly, little ideas that they'll actually reply to. I apologize for trying to socialize on the threads, inform people who might be interested, and/or being excited that two game franchises I like are collaborating together.
(Note, this doesn't effect my XIV experience in any way but it certainly effects my outlook on these forums and those who run them...)

I think it's within their best interest to NOT promote other games, just think for a second. How does your thread relate to FFXIV? I don't see any relations.

Think about it from this perspective. If they allowed off topic threads referencing other Final Fantasy content, how long before this forum would be overrun with FFXV or FFVII: Remade discussion? The idea is a forum dedicated to FFXIV, and nothing else.
