New Dungeons - Healer POV

Well, Is it me or the expert dungeons this time are too easy?

As a matter of fact, this is the first time I play the current patch content with 'good gear'. For the previous patches I was always one step behind in terms of gear and now I have some pieces of Alex gear and some Lv 200 gear for my Ast. But let me ask you guys: Is gear that important? In previuos dungeons I thought that I might die any minute if I didn't pay attention to the mechanics, but with this dungeons... it felt so... I don't know... easy...

What do you guys think?

I personally had a horrible time in the plant one...then again nobody was dodging stuff XD. I only ran it once so... x.x I hope it is easy like you say XD cause I panicked hardcore in that run, i would love for it to get easier in later ones =w=. I have yet to try pharos hard....so no opinion on that one yet

It's not just you, OP. My gear has always been "good" for new dungeons; but I still expect wipes while we figure things out. My first time in both new dungeons there were no deaths, let alone wipes. And all players were new to them. I do think of myself as a pretty good healer so that helps, however mechanically the dungeons are just too easy.

I do agree and FEEL that they are pretty easy for new expert level
Even big pull are not that frightening
Mechanics are not that hard but could be deadly

It's still fun !
I love the arboretum
Pharos is fine but people are too dumb to understand simple mechanic xd

Well, yes, they are easy. And gear does play it's role. With an average ilvl200 people even survive blue bombs in PS hard without properly doing mechanics which shouldn't be the case, really.

KotR Ex on the other hand... Those meteors are hard (mainly because people catch every aoe, lol).

I've only done Void Ark and while I wouldn't say it was easy I didn't find it hard either, as there were times I was talking to someone in the room getting a bit distracted to look back and see everyone still at full HP. I don't mind though, I like challenging stuff but I love playing at night in bed or whatever so not always looking to have something that requires my complete attention for the whole time. Nice to just enjoy sometimes :)

I didn't do KotR Ex yet, Dev team said it would be challenging. I'll do it later today.

PS hard was the easiest for my we flew by that with no problem. Am am only lvl 195 but the plant one I had a bit difficulty void ark was a pieace of cake except Ursula (the squid monster) to much going on lol.

That's the only one I had issues with as well. People would be like "GET BETWEEN THE TENTACLES" but I'm like there's tentacles all over the place, she looks the same front or back haha. That and remembering to run to the pads to avoid instant death lol.

Well, either the trash in Arboretum hits pretty hard, or I've had spectacularly bad luck with paper tanks (as in, dropping to ~33% in the time it takes me to cast my DoTs). But otherwise, yeah, nothing too bad.

Not a big fan of Pharos HM... Mainly the Kobold boss with all the slimes coming out of the woodwork o_O but yeah...
Arboretum seems a bit easy. The mobs, other than the bee mobs with Final Sting hidden in the mess, don't scare me much.

In general, I found the two new dungeons more challenging than other dungeons released during 2.1-2.5 when you're already massively overgeared for it. It was pretty refreshing for me and I enjoyed the healing panic running it blind caused that I normally don't feel in the other earlier patches.

The arena wide attack that the Kobold boss uses creates a fissure on the ground that emits gas. Slimes will continue to spawn as long as the fissure is open and you need to kill a slime on top or close to the fissure to "seal it" and stop slimes from spawning. Might help :)

Also keep in mind the slimes keep aggro'd to the first person who attack them :)

yes, be careful with assise

for me it was the best experience i ever made in new dungeons. we were going in there with minimum ilvl, blind and a warrior tank in full str gear. everything was hitting him like a truck. those trash in arboretum... waaahh xDD but it was really really fun^^

Yaaar. I think most people don't realize that the content is balanced around the min ilvl, so if we're well above that it's going to feel facerolly. That's why I still appreciated how not-quite-facerolly it was at the current scores if i200+. I think players should try it with ilvl sync and see how they fare.

Saint's bosses were a decent challenges for a dungeon. I haven't been able to get there via roulette since unlocking it, but when I got there the 1st time me and everyone came there blind.

Mechanics were more or less "easy" but if you (or one of your team) don't dodge it can can be quite rough.

They are easier than Fractal/Neverreap for sure, even on the same ilv.

Also going to have agree. The new dungeons are much easier than Fractal and Neverreap. I spent more time in cleric stance in Pharoaa

Maybe offer rewards for doing the dungeon at a level sync to entice people to do it at a lesser item level.

They go faster, but boss mechanics are harder imo and it is easier to wipe on bosses if you aren't careful.

Difficulty is similar to the other dungeons don't see why folks were expecting it to be significantly harder. I don't think they are easier though.

Good thing is, when you have nothing to heal, you can DPS ;)

I go as healer in Void Ark, as Scholar. And I don't sit there looking pretty when people don't need healing. My WHM partner overheals (I've seen 60% overheal) or does nothing, usually. It's very easy to stance dance. But mechanics make it a pain to reach good dps numbers.

Yes.

Still, very easy either way. Good gear just means more time in cleric stance.
