So to collect the new items as a gather you have to travel to diadem which you need least one other person, kind of annoying but ok which for the most seems like sort of a workaround for what I'm going to talk about. Now if you want to go into the area solo you can only partially as you can queue for the area solo but you will still be dumped in a group which the objectives are mainly combat. So you pretty much forced into doing combat unless you want to be called a "moocher" which I have seen people say in shout (this was from different group not one the I was in). So even though they made it were people can't be kicked and this is most likely why they did it cause what if person just wants to gather and not do combat? Can they just go off and do gathering or they going to get called out as being a douche and a moocher?

I was under the impression it would be something like killing all the mobs and then you'd be able to gather. I won't have time to try it until I get back from work though.

After that you can go gather to your hearts content, but note that many of the nodes are guarded by NMs that will one-shot you and that see through stealth pretty dang often. ARR was very solo friendly. Run one dungeon and the whole world opens up. HW is very solo-unfriendly. I'm letting my sub lapse month to month and just resubbing while I can't let my houses go.

Go in via FC ships and have a second person join you to help out with sac pulling for aether currents. Once you're in, second person can drop and you're in there solo to gather all you want.

It's FC content. I have no problem with this. If you do not have an FC or a group of friends that you can say "Hey, mind covering me while i mine/fish/botanize for sky pirate shits?", that's a personal problem. Hell you'd probably have luck getting a PF going that says explicitly that you're there to mass gather, then you all go in, murder shit next to nodes, and change classes back. THat's why class change has no cooldown, i'd wager.

hmm well i haven't trouble really with fishing or mining nodes, though those are guarded, while fishing there are nice locations where mobs not reach and u can relax, with mining though most mobs are closer and you can "sneak" past them if you go in right angle for not alert them. So dying there is not much troublesome though.

They made it so that you need dps to get credit, then made it difficult to get with less than the standard party, then gave gatherers a huge incentive to abandon their party. And then they left the ability to roll on loot even if you are not participating. Then they made it so that you couldn't kick. And now I am hearing reports that if one party member is too far away, the group cannot get credit (unconfirmed).
Basically they made it a trolls paradise.
I wish they had made it so that combat and gatherers benefited from working togeather. Like you battle your way to a node at the end of a cave, gatherers hit node, and it wakes up a star monster to fight. Right now a fisher can just sit on an island, hobble the party, and get all the loot they want. -

simple form a pf for gatherers only. kill your way to currents, everyone switches to gather classes after and does what they want for the rest of the time.

but by the by weren't people asking for exactly this but in dungeon form, you know taking gatherers in to a place to gather and what not. alittle more in depth the request was but SE seemed to of atleast noticed those posts. -

It was only when we decided to just df it for the last 4 people that the other 4 people showed up in the span of 5 minutes or so for whatever reason.Quote:
