24 hours maintenance

Really? couldnt you tell me this last week before i filled my 3 gardens with 40k seeds and 45k soils? gonna lose everything, thanks a lot :mad:

Urm...to be fair the Patch date was announced ages ago. So they sorta told you this...multiple times.

never said anything about a 24 hours maintenance, usually maintenance are from 1am to 5am, the only time it was 24 hour was before heavensward

Doesnt matter. They knew they would have to do a 24hour maintenance when they announced the patch date. So they should have announced that long downtime too.

Another patch maintenance, another person whining about said maintenance. SE posted the time and date for 3.1 ages ago as Hyouretsuzan stated - it's up to you to actually take proper notice of it and read it carefully. This patch is adding a whole new area to the game so that alone explains the longer downtime.

Besides, if you're so narky about this situation, refer to the Terms of Service you agreed to when you signed up for the game - amongst other things it states that they reserve the right to take the game down for maintenance at any time without warning or compensation to you the player. Legally, SE are under no obligation to even tell you when they're taking it down.

No FFXIV a whole day? How are we going to survive? It means we have to go outside and meet people and do things..........omg terrible.

24 hour maint is normal for large patches.

yeah like we're all supposed to remember a major patch is 24 hours maintenance, when was the last major patch again? 2.5 in 2014? they warned us a week in advance for the 24 hours downtime before HW, they should've done the same here instead of a 48 hours warning, gonna have to stay in-game all week-end to feed fertilizer every hour to MAYBE have all my plants grown before server downtime, that's why i'm pissed and that's why we should have an earlier warning for long maintenance time.

i really dont care that the server is down for a day, a week, a month even, i just want to know soon enough so i dont fill my gardens with jute seeds and thav onions seeds, it was never about not being able to play for a day, i have other games

Try to one fc member or you, before reset, tend the plants. Sometimes, maintenance doesn't take 24 hours and you could save them.

you only have yourself to blame. the maint was announced 4 days ago when it would happen. if you chose to ignore the launcher notice that also updated the same time as lodestone, how is that SE fault?

The 3rd would actually be 7 days before the patch, so one could say a weeks notice. Apparently the OP didn't actually read what date the warning was posted.

i'm not asking for a compensation for the seeds i will lose, i'm just saying an earlier warning would be nice for long downtime. 3.1 was announced ages ago, you dont have to tell me that, everyone in game knows that, but they never said anything about a downtime long enough that every garden growing stuff will be lost. i'm not asking for my items back, i'm not saying it's illegal or against the terms, i'm just saying it's lame and frustrating so maybe next time, we'll get a sooner warning.

The fact that SE can do a major Patch like this in 24 hour's is very impressive,most wouldn't complain if they know what went into these updates and what is reqired to implement them both Client and server side of the data-center. Not to mention quality cheks to ensure every-thing works as intended.

Does this really surprise you? They ignored the original announcement stating the 24 hour long maintenance.

Details have been out for like what? a week now? what's 1 RL week / Eorzean time? you've had a while tbh.

you chose to plant them, if you're an avid gardener which your post kinda says you are, you should have known how long they will take to harvest and if they would be ready before servers went down.

Square Enix actually have no obligation to give you information about down time and can shut the servers down right now if they wanted to. That's what you agreed to when you accepted the terms and conditions of the game.

OMG get over it. Every single time they release a patch with a lot of cool new content, everyone is subjected to someone like you complaining and whining because the game is shutting down for a small period of time.

Nice to see the friendly people on this game are being friendly on the boards. Imagine how friendly they'll be on maintenance day when they have no other outlet for their friendliness!

the tone of replies are usually set by the op. had the posts made by op been less inflamatory, the replies would have been less stabbing.

If you water your plants just before the servers go down, they'll be fine.

Not impressive at all. Most other MMORPGs have less than 12 hours downtime even for major updates.

I agree with this >.<

Gardening is no longer affected by patches. You won't lose anything. After the maintenance is finished and you log back, it will be as if you were never gone. They adressed the gardening issue with crops going to waste due to long patches some time ago.

If you're worried, water the plants before maintenance begins, then get back on when servers are up again to water them again.

That's assuming they didn't already take into account things like that previously as some people say.

Though Square usually manages to finish maintenance earlier than expected unless something bad happened. They always give lengthy time frames as a buffer "just in case"

My only real complaint about this maintenance is that Fallout 4 won't be out on Monday. But I can deal with that.

Hi! You must be new here. 24 hour maintenance has been the norm since like 2.4.

But dont we always have a 24h maintenance between the big (2.1-2.2 etc.) patches. I understand that you will lose gil that you have invested, but a 24h maintenance was expected.

Didn't read all the pages honestly... But plants can go 36 hours without being watered before they die... log in 10min before servers go down, water plants. log in once servers go live again. water plants. plants survive. problem solved, moving onto next issue... where did i put my bagel?
