Some weird details in patch notes.

Reading the patch notes I came on some changes that seem weird to me.

New options are available in the Character Configuration interface
Dim unequippable gear in the Armoury Chest when in Equip mode.

Graphics Settings
General
Glare (DirectX 11 only)

But we ALREADY have those options in game. Why it states those are new because they are not. Anyone have an explanation? :confused:

Glare might be getting a High quality setting?
As for Equip mode....what even is Equip mode? O.o

im wondering why some stuff is in french....

speaking of the patch notes,

how does the 2 seater mounts work in flight? does both players need flight? or just the main rider?

when you equip your chear whenm you select slots on the character tab it gives you stuff to equip. They puttung an option to dim stuff we can'tr use I more think its tools/weapons as all gear is already dimed but tools and stuff is not might be that turning on said option dims those so players are not accidently sswitching classes when trying to equip new weapons.

But they are already dimmed out and with a blue/red X marking them as unavailable. Items you can actually equip are not which is the same as patch notes describe. So this doesn't make any sense. Both options as described are already in game.

Is that the weirdest detail to you? I thought it was the nerf of all 2.0 dungeon in NORMAL mode, plus garuda NORMAL.

That's not weird it was expected. Those I'm referring to do not make any sense. The nerfs are logical as content adds up. Imagine how many dungeons we will have when 4.0 arrive and adds all those from the 3.X it's kinda too much for newcomers as older players move to the new content fewer will queue for the older content. 2.X dungeons will be solo dungeons or doable with NPCs at some point in the future. The content will simply be too much for normal queue times but let's stay on our topic now.

Garuda Normal is actually the easiest one to wipe in cause level sync. I'm not surprised.

Yeah, Garuda normal can be hell to get through for new players.

I think the second issue is easily forgetting that Normal Garuda still falls under the needing to be behind rocks during her ultimate that isn't used in hard mode anymore. So it's easy for even a veteran player to wipe because they simply forget that mechanic.

1) Sounds like they're making it a toggle so you can turn off the dimming. Currently there's no way to disable it, unless I'm just overlooking it in the UI or there's a text command that I don't know about.

2) Sounds like Glare is getting an additional setting exclusive to DX11.

No you don't! The damage from Aerial Blast is purely determined by how much of the rocks is left. There is no reduction from standing behind the rocks.

Yeah, I got garuda normal the other day and had 3 new people. Even with explaining mechanics, we wiped 5 times.. Then the tank/healer disconnected without a word. Waited 5 minutes, booted them, then asked friends to join in progress to help. The remaining new player still utterly failed on mechanics, but having 3 people who knew what to do got us through.

Though I do wonder what some of those other dungeon nerfs are. :/ whenever I needed a dungeon for weekly bonus, I'd choose tam Tara since it's almost impossible for people to screw it up.

To be honest Garuda Normal should have been nerfed long ago. Normal mode that is way harder than the Hard mode does not make any sense. I hope we will see further details in the complete patch notes.

I honestly appreciated Garuda Normal mode for giving me a wakeup call on what to expect in endgame PVE. Can't expect everyone to feel the same unfortunately.

Garuda Normal was horrible for me. Simply put: The DPS I kept getting through DF sucked (I mained WHM at the time). I came THIS close to leveling SMN (which I had always intended to be my second job to level) just to rip her apart while also fulfilling the need for a half-decent DPS myself. A couple members from my FC at the time intervened however, went in with me unsyched, and helped me finally get the clear.

(Crappy DPS in another story-required dungeon later would be the final straw and lead me to finally leveling SMN.)

But it's a problem when you're blocked out of progressing because even if you learn the mechanics, everyone else in the DF keeps failing to. Especially pre-50..

I don't see the matter about garuda normal... It's not like I healed it without watching my screen, literrally... (for irl reasons)

Regarding story mode Primals, do these fights already grant Echo? If not, I think this should be the first step towards a nerf. I don't want to see any drastic changes quite yet, but Echo would be an acceptable nerf if parties are still wiping.

But then that's how terribad people get to 3.0 dungeons and think they're doing ok and don't accept any criticism because "they got so far with no problems". I'm not liking these nerfs at all. Garuda HM being a faceroll is to be expected for being a terribly obsolete piece of endgame content, but nerfing a mechanics heavy trial during the learning process (the way to 50) only promotes bad players staying bad. I also find a terrible idea that the early gear check in MSQ is now fulfilled with starting racial clothes.

But these people exist now, and clearly a level 5 gear check fails to even make an impact on the first dungeon (seen plenty of wtf gear there). Clearly they're not teaching the peope who need it (and potentially hurting the people who get stuck with them).

And people can still get carried through 3.0 dungeons as well.
