My Problem with Materia

I am at a dilemma. Ok I have some really good materia.

Here's my problem, is that some materia, like this Fire Materia IV can be equipped to either Conjurer or Thaumaturge two-handed staves.

Say I attach the materia to Jade Crook, then the new job system comes out and Thaumaturge is black mage. Guess what, now I can't use that Jade Crook cause it's Conjurer only, and it's white-mage. I just lost the Jade Crook with the Fire Materia IV.

or you can purge the materia and add a different one....

also remember, you dont have to be white mage when you are conj

you can just be plain conj, and use nukes

Not to be obvious, but given how in FFXI when a new job came out, they had absolutely no problems allowing said new jobs access to said older material, i.e COR was added perfectly fine to previously RNG only Guns. (For the most part.)

Job system is optional, but there's no reason materia would be locked to only existing classes when they're released -- It's a general system which means jobs will have access to it, if anything Materia was made with the new jobs in mind. So I'm pretty sure this is the last thing to worry about. Also as said, purge it.

It's all Hypothetical. That's only if Conjurer is White Mage when the jobs are released. Which why I would like to know which job is going to be which. So I can save my damage materia for the right job. Cause if I put it all into one class now and it doesn't become black mage, I just wasted all my materia for a job that won't be able to DD.

I don't think it would hurt for him to answer THM/CON which is WHM/BLM question.

Unfortunately I can't. I am not making a twitter. I actually have dignity, regardless of how little it maybe. Hopefully someone else can ask for me.

I am surprised it wasn't asked. Maybe for the greater good I will make one and delete it after, unless it's like stupid facebook where you can't get rid of you account once you sign up.

Consider for a minute that healing the injured is a noble occupation. No? Noble but not destructive enough? Then consider the possibility that Holy will be affected by fire potency. Holy fires, for purging evil taints. There. No worries.

Healers are awesome, I respect and admire anyone who says the enjoy people who like to be healers. I can not do it though. I can't keep myself awake. i don't have the skills to be a full time healer.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but can't you equip Elemental potency+ Materia onto feet slot? If so, equip it to feet and problem solved dude.

Materia aren't so rare that you need to treat this like a life altering decision. Just play, and if the OP scenario does happen, just grab another one.

It's not rare, but I don't also want to pay the ridiculous prices at the moment either, they may go down fin a bit.

i think i remember hearing jobs will have there own gear. so it wont matter if its black or white. you will need new materia for either

Prices on Materia are dropping as more product enters the market place, by 1.21 you shouldn't have any issue. Plus, I would vote to attach it now. And look for the same materia that can attach to feet, or other parts. I have found different variations attach to different pieces of the body.

I think it's safe to assume CNJ will be getting WHM now since they recently gave CNJ Curaga, Curaga II, Raise II, Rebirth and the gimped THM's Sacrifice to single target but then again who knows.
