What's your favourite thing about FFXIV?

Hello, I'm new to FFXIV and this forum and would like to hear your personal opinion on what your favourite thing is about FFXIV, optionally what your least favourite thing is about it too! :D

My favourite thing so far has been the boss fights of both dungeons and raids, they have have been amazing so far, and I expect I'll feel the same about end-game raiding aswell (I'll have to admit that the stories I've heard about Titan and Ravana on extreme and Alex Savage scare me a little too, in a good way I think)! :rolleyes:

So far I've just been sucked in by the game and are having a blast leveling up with so many options to what I should do and where I should go next, but my least favourite thing is something so small as getting dismounted everytime I interact with NPCs. :p

So what's your favourite thing about FFXIV? :confused:

Tanking.

Simply being a tank has allowed me to grow a nice sized community of friends, allowed me to take the Free Company on silly adventure's such as Twintania Sync and enjoy a night of wiping before one shotting it the next day with the same people.

By keeping a positive and friendly attitude and encouraging those who are struggling during a dungeon or raid I can change a parties attitude from potentially toxic too helpful.

Nothing to me beats the sense of being in control that being a tank provides and for some reason it always feels easier to get people to join in content if you're a tank forming a group than any other role.

What else do I enjoy about FFXIV?

Doing silly things and taking screen shots of the shenanigans... Also dyeing everything Pink.

I like best that there is no server-wide chat like general or trade.
Meaning less trolling, and the world feels more realistic.

Yeah the screenshots. I have 4 gigabytes of screenshots of very important, awesome, or funny moments. I also enjoy that I can do everything on one character.

Oh and gathering and crafting is actually fun here. Well as fun as it can be.

And the size of the content patches.

Only thing I don't like is that I will never be able to experience the first half of the story.

Hands down my favorite things about th game are the story and localization. The writing is genius, funny, and even the most insignificant part of the game has some story or lore nugget attached to it. It makes the world feel alive and full of secrets.

My least favorite part about the game are the boring stats on gear and lack of any significant way to customize the gameplay of your character.

Favourite thing Hmm... The trials, probably.

We need another tier of Titan! I miss him.

I'm guessing if I deleted my SS folder I would suddenly have tons of space on my harddrive again.... sigh. Oh well.
I also like how you can change jobs; no need for fifty characters anymore :D



Least fav is the forums; you should probably run while you're still pure and innocent

Bosses. The more challenging mechanisms the better ._. .

They should make a ravana riding bismark extreme boss. I'd pay to play that xD.

The music.

Fave: Screenshots, the community, music and all the things you can do in game.

Hate: All the fetch quests, they take the fun out of the main storyline quest and turn it into a chore. If they would just reduce the amount required to progress and leave it to the important ones I'd be happy. Go get your own favorite food/random object NPC!

Definitely music, it's one of the things I look forward to the with most content. I love it when I step into a dungeon/raid/whatever and am just blown away by the music, some examples being Snowcloak, Labyrinth of the Ancients and Syrcus Tower.

My favourite thing about FFXIV?
That it is a final fantasy game and an MMO :D
You get to see all the nostalgic enemies from the previous games, and not only that, talk about it to other final fantasy fans!

So... I guess the community? :)

Primal fights, music and Lalafellins.

My favorite thing is probably the world at large.
Most MMOs are either just reality with a bit of magic sprinkled on top, or completely "lava pool to your left, Elsa's ice castle to the right"- over the top.
Few get the balance right and I just love it. I feel so at home in this world that is full of fantasy but still makes sense by it's own laws :o
I guess the extensive (but never overly complicated!) lore plays right into that too ^^

Least favorite part? Mh..the forums. It's like a drug, you know it's bad for you and you are gonna feel like shit in the end, but you can't stop using it once you got hooked .-.

Glamour, the music, and the story probably.

Lots of good scenery and some pretty cool boss fights, too.

Probably the Relic questline in ARR and (hopefully) what will become the Anima questline in HW, and beyond those, the aesthetics.

Graphics, housing, large free companies, a variety of content and gearing options as well as being able to play multiple classes and jobs are some of my favorite things about this game.

endgame grinds with tomestone caps, raid lockouts, PvP's large selection of playable modes, the graphics, the music, lore, the community, housing prices and reasonable item limits, our large inventory space, Relic weapons, LP LK circle-right-- oh sorry that slipped out. Ahem, Gold Saucer minigames, the Veira april fools jokes, the Au Ra race, just about everything in Heavensward (I love it soooo much I can play it for 6 months without being bored. :D) Roleplaying, talking with friends, playing with friends, blacklisting frie--playe--rmt, gc leves, battle leves, the collectible function, scrips (my favorite are the red ones ;D ), Alchemy, farming for materials with 5% drop rates, crafting story quests requiring you to be 60+ to complete them, watching character nonchalantly nodding at everything, undyable gear, unattainable gear and the SE support service. Btw PvP is my favorite of them all.

I started out as a tank since 2.0 I really love being the meatwall that is the tank role but after being in 3.0 for a few months I started doing more PvP and gearing my other jobs such as Smn and Nin. I just love how the retuned 1.0 to what it is now I still enjoy the same just not as much from a raiders stand point I just PvP to grind those ranks and Esoterics. I sometimes run Expert roulette but it's rare as of late because i'm tired of Alwaysreap and Neverfractal. I'll be picking tank back up in 3.15 for relic and 3.2 for the tank changes that are coming I never once gave up on this game it's my favorite MMO since I quit WoW's PvE was just tiresome after many years of playing and the PvP has been at it's all time low since Cata and MoP.
