I just want an opinion on and idea of mine, I want to pitch the idea of specified clan quests for each race. Each race has two clans so that would be two story arks for each race. There are small description about each clan when you create a character, what I would like to see is a description of the lore about each clan. For example the Au Ra consist of the Raen: A clan that remains secluded and peaceful. And the Xaela: A clan that is filled with hunters and war. It would be nice to see these have more depth and us get to understand the clans we decided to be apart of, and earn "Clan Reputation Points" as a currency to buy gear/ mounts only available to members of the clan we decided. I would like to hear opinions on this idea!

Culturally Keepers of the Moon and Seekers of the Sun for example will share similarities but families, tribes and nations operate pretty much independent of each other and in a lot of cases would be strangers. SE seems to have approached this in FF14 by providing us small sample exposures to racial cultures. The two I said before are prime examples. You visit as Seekers tribe during the MSQ and you get some exposure to Keeper culture in a couple of side quests. I think this is the best way of doing it, giving us small windows into racial cultural habits, when the opportunity arises.
That said, I would be very eager to see more of it. I very much hope we get to visit the homeland of the Hellsguard at some point. -

While I think most people can agree that it would be a nice touch to get a real racial identity, I can't think of a way to implement it. While it would be very nice to have a greater racial identity, in the end a PC's race is mutable - we can change it with a Fantasia, so there can't (or, just to placate the people who will point out it is technically possible, shouldn't) have anything bound to a PC variable.
Not to mention there are some races not particularly abundant in Eorzea, such as the Au Ra, or outcast clans, like the Duskwight.

While I would love to learn more about Keepers and other clans, I, too, think it would be pretty hard to implement properly. Reasons are given by other people above (e.g. Xaela or Seeker triebes with vastly different cultures). But if you find a way to do it - go for it!
However, I would love to have more sidequests giving details about clan lore. -

Maybe a side story quest chain so you wouldn't have to be that race to do the quests.
Ex: A Scholar from Ishgard is eager to learn of the other people of Eorzea and has arranged for you to interview someone from all the different races and bring back the stories to him. They have agreed to share their culture in exchange for a task/favor which is why he needs an adventurer to go for him. -

Honestly I think it would be an amazing idea, It would really nice to see some more keeper of the moon lore or the raen and xeala lore for staters. It could also be a nice way to give some more variety to the game and patch them in over an expansion, instead of trying to put them all in at once maybe do two or three clans per patch.

Although the Moogle Quests seems to be the best to do this: As seen with how they shed some light Keeper of the Moon miqo'te culture, but that might be limited to pre-established npcs/ FATEs npcs
There is also that college of scholars in Ishagrd that could very well give us quests for lore (hopefully) -

I would personally prefer to not have quests that are racially locked. I'd want to see all the lore, but I don't want to have to raise 12 characters to see it all. Much better to have lore for the clans and have it open to everyone.

i think it would be cool idea, cause i am a drow....ere....dark elf....ere...duskwight and their is literally no lore anywhere in the game for duskwights. Lots of lore with Lalafells given that they largely settled Ul'dah but not so much for other races

I don't want to see a quest that only gives you the info for your race at the time. That sounds silly and a would require you to play multiple character to get all of the clan info. Making multiple quests that each focus on a specific clan would be far simpler, and far more rewarding for players, as they'd each have their own experience rewards and gil rewards, on top of the fact you could go to the Unending Journey and watch them seperately instead of one cutscene whose dialogue changes based on your race and clan.

It would probably be cool if there was something customized to the player's personality (based on all those times we actually had a choice to reply with).
I don't expect anything too deep or involved like branching story lines, but maybe something like the moogle courier quests where you become involved in helping to better a clan as a whole and learning a little more about it while doing so. -
