Yes it work on Windows 10 perfectly. I have Windows 10 Pro install on my PC. Direct X11 also work if you have a Graphic Card that supported it.
It not officially supported if that what you asking.
Only problem I've had is that it doesn't remember my username with Windows 10.
There is a weird thing with windows 10 that if you use a controller it stops responding for a couple of seconds twice in a row randomly. Not really sure if that is a win 10 thing or something with my machine, all i know is it didn't do it before windows 10 and both of my win 10 machines have it happen at the EXACT same time every time like clockwork.
Normally this doesn't cause too big of an issue, but if you just so happen to be walking out of an aoe and it decides to do it, you just keep on running lol
I think it runs fine with it. Before when I'd tab out of the game, sometimes it would crash. Now, I can't recall it crashing yet.
ive never had that happen to me my controllers work flawlessly ps4 and xbox one
Or, you just haven't noticed it because you were not doing anything at the time. Or it is something with both of our machines and windows 10.
My wife didn't notice it either until I started calling out when it happened, It happens on her windows 10 upgraded machine at the SAME exact time like clockwork yet it has a completely different hardware. At first I thought it was because of the cortana/msn online all the time thing, but it does it even when that is off.
The timing of it seems completely random. Didn't have issue on win 7 pro, do now on win 10 pro, nothing has changed software or hardware related, with the exception of the update to win 10 pro.
If I am running forward at the exact time it happens, it seems like autorun is stuck on but it isn't it is the controls not responding for that couple of seconds.
Also I should note, it doesn't happen in any other game except this one that I own. She runs dx9 I run dx11, different video cards, different controllers etc... same problem, same times, different set ups.
It may be a local issue, I just find it incredibly coincidental that 2 machines with completely different hardware configurations, both of which switched to windows 10 , both of which are having the same problem at the same time with the same game.
Been running it with Windows 10 since September 1st with no hiccups whatsoever. This includes with the Direct 11 upscale.
I'm running W10 x64 Pro since it was launched and FFXIV DX11 runs perfectly without any problems and slightly smoother than before. W10 is not "officially" supported yet. We are still waiting their announcement which was delayed once and since then no official announcement yet. You can run it on W10 the announcement will come later to confirm what we already know.
I have been playing XIV on Win 10 pro ever since it released, it runs better than on 8.1, which ran better than on 7.
The only issue I have come across is the "doesn't remember user name" bug - it looks like Edge is taking over control of the fields, trying to add autocomplete to them, but the client doesn't show the "pick a username" thingie. (I think it's because of this, since the username field is yellow, just like when you have a remembered password on a browser)
I encountered a similar issue but have resolved it. This may or may not work for you and others.
From what i've read up, FFXIV launcher is based on internet explorer's cookies so something must have changed where it is not saving it
To fix this:
Launch internet explorer, click the cog on the top right corner and select "Internet options"

Under advanced, click "Reset..." at the bottom and reboot.
Hope this resolves your issue.
Well, my computer got completely roasted after i installed Win10 and tried playing ffxiv on it. The nivida graphics driver went completely insane and it is still prone to black out at least eight times daily.. (It's a stationary pc from 2009 and a HP computer to boot however, so i'm not entirely surprised)
If other people with well endowed computers can handle it though then i'm sure you're good to go! but if you're sitting by a computer with a bunch of years on it's back i wouldn't recommend it.
Only thing that's bothering me is the loss of focus from time to time while I'm playing. I have windows notifications on silent and only Chrome running simultaneously (which I'm pretty sure doesn't have anything to do with that).
No idea what it could be >_>
I ran it fine on both Win10 Home and Pro
I only had problems running the game until I updated my video card with windows 10 ready drivers.
Windows 10 isn't all that different to Windows 8 really, and I haven't heard much trouble about compatibility overall about it...
Never heard anyone have problems with FFXIV when running on Windows 10, not anything that is actually related to Windows 10 at least... and I've been using it since the release, without any problems.
i ran ffxiv with windows 10, and its perform a lot better than when it run in windows 7.
Like many have said in the thread, I've been running Windows 10 since it launched (upgraded from Windows 7) and I've never had any issues running the game. As a matter of fact, I've seen a slight increase in FPS in directX 11 but that could be the newer display drivers at play, not Windows 10 specifically.
As for official support, I'm pretty sure Square Enix doesn't officially support it just yet but you should have no trouble running the game. I wouldn't be surprised if they officially start supporting it come Patch 3.1
I've had some issues with Windows 10 and ffxiv but nothing that makes it unplayable.
First I had the issue with not saving my username, but I set ffxiv as a trusted site which fixed it.
I've had an issue where my game will occasionally freeze for like 0.00001 seconds, not that big of a deal and a barely notice it but it did get me killed in Titan ex once.
The last issue is the game bar, first time I used the game bar it worked, but any time using it after that it just gives me an error message that says it was unable to change my settings and to try again later.
I've run into this as well here and there. It's very sporadic and I've gotten such stutters that have lasted anywhere from a barely perceptible microsecond to lasting a few seconds, the latter being super rare.
I'm still tinkering to try to minimize such issues.
The big one that got me was that Win10 completely f'd up my wireless connection. It went from running smoothly on Win7 Pro to pretty much nonfunctional on Win10 Pro. I of course cleaned out all old drivers for my wireless device, installed the necessary new Win10 certified drivers and all that but still my speed was crap. Started messing with network device settings, changing some and then running a speed test, rinse repeat until I was getting the best results I could.
Most of the kinks seem to be worked out but I still get lag hiccups every now ansld then, so I'm still looking into possibilities.
Win10 x64 pro. Upgrade install (aka not a clean install). Minor issue is one slight pause 30ish minutes into the game. Just one though. Another issue is Intel graphics causes blue screen when using a second monitor with it. New drivers from Intel seemed to have cured it.
I've had some issues with my HD7950 running too hot, and the new build broke controller support entirely, but I've been using windows 10 since they put out the developer alpha. The game running poorly has been the least of my worries. If you're on the release build just keep your drivers up to date and you'll be fine.
I've had issues playing the game, as sometimes I'm just doing a leve and my computer instantly freezes, so I have to force my computer to shutdown completely. I don't know what causes it. It never happened on Windows 8.1.
Someone finally found a fix for this on Reddit!
Press Windows key + R and type regedit. Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
system
GameConfigStore
Children
-find the folder in here that contains ExeParentDirectory C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\game
There should be an item in the same folder called arguments, delete it and the gamebar will work on FFXIV again.
For the brief two weeks or so that I used W10, I had no issues with running FFXIV on it.
However I have since reverted back to W8, due to W10 being a steaming pile of ass regardless.
