Famfrit seems dead. Just, no one around.
Then transfer to Midgardsormr! :p
IDK, just yesterday morning there was a crowd of 50+ people for an S rank in Lower Lanocea.
People are waiting gfor the update.
I would have to agree. Do you understand how hard it is to pug someone for a Thordan clear on Famfrit? Nigh impossible.
I transfered from Famfrit a few weeks ago since I wanted to run more current content and have a reliable pf for older content like for ponies. The active population has declined and used to really be booming a year or so ago. But it got hard for me to find groups and also I was having a hard time selling things on the mb and it always fluctuated crazily. Anyway I am on Excalibur now. There are always pf groups up and so many skilled players that have helped me become more involved with current content. The mb is a LOT cheaper since so many people have level 60 crafters and prices only fluctuate a little. A glamor piece i wanted went for 3 million on Famfrit and 20,000 gil on Excaliber due to having more high level crafters. Plus FC populations are a lot more stable and loyality is high with a lot less people taking a break from the game. Famfrit is a neat server in that a lot of people know one another and people are a lot nicer because it's a tight knit community. I loved the people but had to eventually move and leave them :/
Hard to believe that Famfrit is a one of the most populated servers in FFXIV. It's really been turning into a cesspool server. Most people won't use VOIP and complain about having to watch youtube videos to learn fights. Pretty sad =/ I'm trying to stick it out on Famfrit but I don't see Famfrit's community as a whole changing any time soon.
Famfrit was for a long time a server where new people were suggested to start on around the time of the ps4 launch thus why i started there. A few months ago many of the players who basically were my mentors transferred and I didn't understand why. A lot of talented players left the server...I identify as casual and I do not attempt savage but I want to get better at other content. It was bad when I had pf groups for unsynced primal fights fall apart. I didn't understand and can't count how many FCs I was in that fell apart. Famfrit has a large population but only a small part of it remains active or transfers. What I saw personally was that there was alot of people in one of my old fcs who would subscribe for the story and dungeons then unsub after completing it only to resub 3 months later to catch up on it. To each their own if it brings them enjoyment but I wanted to do more endgame content.
When I calculated the active players on the server there is about an average of 800-950 people that are active during peak hours NA time (basically when people get home from work, school, etc). Furthermore, the population is less during non- peak hours NA time (about 400-600). I have also never seen the server population spike to more than 1k. The people that I counted do not include the number of people that are in a duty, or in a raid, or doing a dungeon etc, but I believe it won't have a significant effect on the number of active players. To sum it up the server isn't dying it's just severely underpopulated.
It is also to my understanding that a couple of months ago, about three FC's left causing a domino effect of people leaving this server, and causing prices to fluctuate to biblical proportions, since those FC's decided to purchase all of the servers materia, and several other items.
When I counted the players on the server (10 minutes ago from this post), not including players on duties, raids, dungeons, etc, there was about 748 people.
Server is dead sorry to say. There are still some good people on the server, yes, but they are few are far between. Personality, people are generally good, but I'm not looking to be a casual. I like to beat all the content. Goodbye Famfrit forever.
This ^^^^ I just moved from Famfrit for the same reasons, I appreciate all the help that I received from Famfrit but I need a server with more active community, Odin showed today and only 35-40 people where there, we got him to 90% T_T, after that I transferred over.
I xfered to Gilgamesh Sunday. Took 6 of my friends with me. No regrets. Hard to believe I played on Famfrit for 2 years. I feel like I'm playing FFXIV for the first time, finally!
I'm been debating for a couple of months to transfer servers but I honestly don't know which one to transfer to. I want one with a large population as well as an active economy. Any suggestions with reasoning?
Well a lot of people will say gilgamesh since it has the highest population. I transfered to Excalibur because it has a upper medium population and a good economy. I would say make a alt and check it out especially the market boards and party finders. Also the gaming culture on servers varies a lot and is worth checking out. If you are someone who waits to learn harder content later on, some servers may be easier to have learning parties and others may simply pass you by. It's a hard thing to tell someone where they should go.
May I ask, to what sever did did Y transfer?
Server isn't dead, you could see that from the amount of relic pf parties that popped up after 3.15. The problem is that the raiding community on this server is quite cliquey, so savage isn't accessible for pugs+people looking to start raiding.
I don't know if I 100% agree with this whole sentence but there are partial truths in here. The raid community on Famfrit is small and close knit. If people are looking to start raiding I'd look for the groups who are having success and reach out to them. Groups are raiding and more and more of them are starting to see success. Do a little digging see who is raiding and see if they can provide assistance or guidance.
Is this server dead? No
Are we a high pop server? No
Can you find success on Famfrit? Yes
How many people are on my server on Phoenix? Should I be looking to transfer?
I can't speak for Phoenix since I have never played on there. This thread is concerning the world Famfrit but if you feel as if you could have a better time on another server I suggest make a alt when you can on a another server and see how it is.
I have a alt on famfrit and unless someone has around 20 million gil or a crafting friend the crafted items will be a brick wall. On my server, HQ arrows are around 200,000 gil while they were 2 million each on Famfrit. That was 2 days ago.
You can find success in any server, same goes for finding bad players. However the difference is the rate in which you'll find it. I left famfrit stuck on the a3s wall (10weeks on a3s); 6 weeks later, Im farming a4s. My dps was only behind Etherial in famfrit, but still could not find a group. Groups are cliquey in famfrit because they know how bad everyone else is on the server
