Halloween Coatee

Dear FF14 clothing designer,

The Halloween Coatee on women is amazing. I could do with out the bow, but it's awesome regardless. I would love to see a non-Holiday Coatee with the attached skirt at some point. No matter what, Thank you..

I was kind of irritated when I saw the icons for the Halloween costumes, because it was just a recolor of the patrician coatee. I figured they just made a throwaway costume this year because they needed something available to players, while the focus of the event was on the mount.

But I've got to say that the outfit this year looks really nice. It is modified just enough from the previous models to make it stand out on its own. I hope they apply this level of modification in the future when they reuse older models in dungeons or via crafting.

Aww, but I like bows. Ribbons and bows on everything! It's cuter :3

Sadly it was designed more for girls then guys, T.T, Oh SE, why do "cat"-girls get all the love, lol

Oh, yeah, the special treatment that the Halloween outfit gives to you girls is just not enough, you want even more - when you already have more. Just...no.

Not a fan of the bow. Or the pumpkin on it.

But its cute enough from the rear. And I need to glamour new pants because my black booty shorts look weird.

Meanwhile the males just cry in a corner cause our version isn't different at all. Unless I missed something. Please tell me I just missed something. o.o

Boys would also cry if they have to wear more skirts ^^
How can the male body coatee be altered without it turning out girly?

It would be half bad if pants are in the set

I think if the coatee was altered a bit like longer coattails (kinda like the wedding tux) instead of a straight recolor with pumpkins I would have been happier. That way both guys and girls got something a little more unique looking.

So I can do a proper Jack Skellington cosplay?

I was so ecstatic when I saw the gloves. Ever since I made a glamour to look like a queen on my WHM, complete with crown and a robe from an achievement whose name eludes me right now, I've been looking for proper dress gloves that would vanish up under the sleeves of the robe.

These gloves had that exact form, tight around the arms!

But um ... SE? Where did my sleeves go?

Yeah, I really like the female version as is, but the males could have really used some fun new pants to go along with theirs. Maybe even would satisfy some of the complaints about the lack of variety of glamors available to male characters and the amount of gender-locking in favor of females.

Would have been nice, but it's blatantly obvious the armor designers at Square-Enix would rather be designing cosmetic glamours for women.

Two problems: The ribbons don't dye and the pumpkin on the coatee limits it to being a seasonal glamour instead of everyday (unless you're someone that likes to wear halloween stuff year-round) Even then, the pumpkin would be tolerable out of season if the ribbons would pick up dye.

I managed to make a nice colorscheme (inspired by onion prince) but I wanted to do dark blues or greens for other glamours but it looks terrible with the orange ribbons. Everything has to work around those stupid ribbons.

My only complaint is that the chestpiece clips a bit weirdly with Miqo'te tails when we run. A lot of body pieces do but still.

Other than that I love it.

Oddly enough one thing that made me bummed was in the artwork the boots have heels but they aren't heeled in game :(
Was looking forward to having a dyeable, heeled thighboot for any class.

My complaint is that we yet again can't store the set in the armoire straight away. Why is it this time? Server load? PS3 limitations? You want us to pay for extra armoire storage?

Another year, another halloween glamour set made completely in favor of female characters.

I love the female version too. It would be so nice if guys didn't have to sub in some completely mismatched pants to have a full outfit that doesn't look terrible, though - especially as the coatee is cut quite high.

I did have fun passive-aggressively doing the entire quest with no pants on, as both my (male) characters. If I don't get any pants I want the entire server to suffer with me.

(Not entirely serious about the last part.)

Liked! It'd be nice to have a version of this outfit with a normal neck piece or none at all.

I put it on just to activate the quest then I removed it, Guys don't wear ribbons on legs, sorry but it just looked bad.

I wonder why guys couldn't get like a more guy attire look.

Not a fan of how we can't dye the bow. That orange only goes with so much. :/ Wish SE would get with the times and give us multiple dye channels.

Overall the outfit is pretty cute, though.

Guys are perfectly capable of wearing ribbons. Not everything has to fit into a single definition of masculine.

I'd like one without the ribbon too.

I prefer subtlety in my seasonal gear (it also makes the gear less nonsensical to wear out of season), not "oh my god giant pumpkins and ribbons all over you". But other than the ribbon, imo it looks nice. Really would have liked the boots to be heeled and not have the strange end shape too, but oh well.
