How to get 450 Collectability?

Stuck with 484 total Perception. Not even getting 450 collectability. I don't even know how to get it because I have 0 gil.

Which gathering class?

What level?

What gear? is the gear HQ or NQ? Melds?

0 gil? go check your MB for what's selling and get gathering LOL

I'm a Lv 60 Miner who is entirely new to this. I've only got 484 perception and Gathering, yet I can't even manage to get to 450 Collectability because I have next to no gil and due to the fact that I tend to wind up with 421 or so collectability!

What perception do you need to even start on blue scrips?

The rotation I've been using so far is DE->Methodical->Utmost Caution->Impulsive(proc->Single Mind->Instinctual)->DE->Instinctual

I've never had good experience with Instinctual Appraisal, so I would suggest sticking only to Methodical and Impulsive Appraisal until your stats improve.

For stats, what GP do you have? Do you have at least 579?

How much collectability is DE + Methodical generating?

You need a lot more perception then that, also 600 to minimum, my rotation is ME and DE, x3. If your low on gill then mine some more and sell it on the MB, also selling maps is a good way to earn gill or even do the maps and sell the items from the maps.

If you have at least 600 GP, you can max collectiability at the cost of only getting one item by going hit to reveal, DE+MA, DE+MA, UC+MA, UC+MA, collect x 1. That will give you your upper limit.

Is it always 600 GP? Because I've seen people do it lower than that. My current GP is 577.

600 GP is the magic number as the big collectible actions all cost 200. You can get to 600 GP pretty easy with quite cheap food (such as HQ antelope stew).

My rotation for 450 is Discerning Eye -> Methodical Appraisal -> Discerning Eye -> Methodical Appriasal -> Single Mind -> Methodical Appraisal, which gives 459 Collectibility and 3 swings.

I'm not sure what other stats are needed for this rotation to work for you, but I know that stats reach their cap quite quickly. If this doesn't work, using 3 x DE+MA will probably work but will only give you 2 swings. That combo give me 516.

You are a miner, mine stuff and sell it.

Some of the unspoiled nodes from 2.55 and before yeild stuff that still goes for good gil.

Then there are the assorted ores and sands from the 3.0 areas.

I put in an hour or two a day mining and am sitting on 11m gil.

Did you get to 60 on nothing but levequests?

Make a goal to acquire the following gathering accessories, either through the marketboard or the good graces of crafters. You can supply the hardsilver yourself; only 6 ingots are required for this set.

- HQ Dragonskin Choker
- HQ Dragonskin Ring x2
- HQ Dragonskin Wristbands
- HQ Hardsilver Earrings of Gathering

Wearing all of these will give you 597 GP with zero Materia melds. From there you can meld a single Gatherer's Grasp III materia, or avail yourself upon the Gold Saucer's cheap supplies of antelope stew.
