This issue comes up from time to time but I haven't seen a definite resolution. To start... make sure your drivers, even ones not necessarily related to video, are *all* up to date. Maybe someone else will stop in that's found a way to fix it...
all the drivers is up to date
Are you running it borderless window mode? If so, that will crash out on DX11 mode for every driver since 15.7.1.
running in borderless mode.
For me it's crashing for a half of year. Using R9 285 Gigabyte, windows 7 64-bit. Running game in fullscreen mode. DX9 working perfectly.
same as you have crash only with dx11 works good wicth dx9 windows 10 64 here but i have MSI r9 380
It's look like Tonga chipset graphic card has issue with Unreal Engine 4 and Crystal Tools Engine. It's quite a problem, and AMD is so slow with resolving it >.>
true true true
Just to chip in, I'm on Win7, DX11, R9 290X, Borderless fullscreen, I've got zero crash for the past few beta drivers. Running on 15.9.1 right now.
I recently changed from Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti SLi mode to Radeon R9 380 4G CrossFire enabled. On the old cards if I had DirectX 11 on, I would randomly crash when loading up a roulette dungeon. With the new video cards, it just randomly crashes. Trying out DirectX 9 now to see if I have problems or not. Is there a way to find any logs the game produces to help troubleshoot what the issue is?
There is a note about FF14 DX11 issue in the 15.9 driver known issue notes. that note has not appeared in either solved or known notes sections in the driver releases that followed. I read on the AMD forum in a thread discussing this issue that a fix had been found but not implemented in a driver yet. That was back in September. I have been asking in those forums if there was a chance it would be released in the Crimson Driver package releasing in a couple of weeks but no answer.
Has anyone switched gpus because of this? just curious
Had hopes that with a new patch DX11 problem got somehow miraculously fixed. Nope. Game still crashes in dx11 while playing perfectly in dx9c. R9 380.
Now the only hope is the new driver from AMD... If after that game still crashes I might think about changing GPU (which sucks because I've bought the card less than half a year ago :( ).
In the same boat, I too have an R9 380 purchased in july. One would think with AMD's release of r9 380x coming up that they would square(enix) away as many issues as possible with the Tonga/Antigua line.
Just got this message:

The issue has been fixed, You can go ahead and use the latest Catalyst 15.11 Beta drivers.
.......
but but I just tried that and nothing has changed....
I reformatted my comp(win10) reinstalled FF14, used 15.11 beta and I still crash on my R9 380 in DX11 mode. No issue in other games...
People still talk about this being an issue, SE has tipped their hats off as resolved long ago and now AMD says its fixed....what gives...
