It is looking like lag for us in Australia is here to stay so we will have no choice but to find a new server. I have both a FC house and personel house and would like some info on what this will mean.
Can I assume that the FC chest needs to be emptied before the move?
Will the items my retainers have for sale be moved with them?
I guess I will have to move all housing items out too?
And let me guess, SE is not going to give us the gill back on the houses or plots even though they are the ones who have forced, and I mean forced this on us since no gaming company in the world cares about us down here?

The FC owner could sell the FC (and house) to someone if desired though, that's a way to get quick money if you can find a buyer.Quote:

FC Wise:
* Sell House/Plot to someone on the server (SE will not give you the gil back due to a server transfer - reason doesn't matter)
* Remove what items you can if you want to take them with you, clean out chest
* Transfer FC to new house buyer if they want it, if not give away or destroy it
Player:
* Remove all items off Market Board
* Sell Personal House/plot to someone on server
There is a full list of things that need to be done for a player transfer and wont list them all as they are on the Mog Station platform. Check to see if there is still a gil restriction when transferring to a new server. -

I'm on Malboro. Last night, we had hella lag when we were farming old Coils. My Mudra lag was off the chain (setting up and activating Suiton but Raiton casts).
In T9 earlier, we had to quit because the debuffs were not displaying on us until like 1 tick left (that Lightning debuff, though). In T5, the Divebombs were killer. I logged off and played Batman: Arkham Knight. -

New Zealanders have the same thing... Leaving everyone I had ever known in FF14, seeing my friends list got from 142 people to 0, It was heart breaking, luckily I found a friendly FC on the server I moved to, to help fill the void that was made when I left.

I understand people in Australia and New Zealand would like a server in their region. I think every person in Europe that now experiences the marvel of low ping can understand. Unfortunately, you need to see the business need here and what I suspect here is that there are simply not enough people from that area of the world to warrant a datacenter. As a company, would you make a whole datacenter for 1-2% of the server population? (number is just random). Seeing that the datacenters are not connected to each other, would you want to be on a deserted datacenter? Believe me, especially in such a group-heavy game, that would NOT enhance your gaming experience.
Have you tried using ping enhancers? Try WTFast, battleping or whatever else is out there. -

FFXIV has a much larger Australian/Oceanic community than SWTOR. HiRez studios, SOE/Daybreak, Blizzard, Jagex, and others all have Australian servers, some of those studios are far smaller and make far less money than FFXIV. The problem lies in SE's lack of unwillingness to invest money on it when they're already getting away with what they have, 2 years to implement EU servers? I'm sorry, but that's pathetic. Most MMOs have that at launch. That's not to mention that the servers don't even have to be located in Australia, Singapore/New Zealand would both work.Quote:

If you want to get around the 1 million gil limit buy the tin/bronze/whatever pieces from the market board or anything else really that has a high sell value you can't take gil but items are ok.
