Request: Exchanging transfers

So I have two characters playing on different servers, my main one is in Excalibur, and other one is in Tonberry.

I always liked to play my main character, and I wish to move to Tonberry server. But I don't want to delete my Tonberry char, because I also play my char there. Even though my Tonberry char are not strong enough, but I don't want to lose what I've already done playing to that char so far.

How about making another optional transfer for the two of my characters? Just exchanging two char spots on both servers. So switching my main char to Tonberry server, and another char switch to Excalibur server for once? Paying £12.00 per-transfer/char and multiply 3 times is ridiculously expensive. I hope the dev should consider to add this option for our needs. Thank you.

So... two questions. Which plan do you pay for? If you pay for the 1-per-world okay. If not why do you want to move your character from Tonberry?

Can't you move your alt to a different server, transfer your main to Tonberry and then your alt to Excalibur? I think server transfers are free for now (although I'm not sure if it's just one).#

Edit: now that I think about it, it's probably on free from EU > NA/JP. =/ Worth a shot I guess?

It's only free if you're transferring OFF Chaos

That's too bad then, I don't SE will implement what OP is asking for now, or ever since it would eat into their profits.

I can see the exploit on this though.

1. Create a new character on the server that you would like to transfer to.
2. Swap the main character with the newly created character.

There you can bypass the whole transferring fee.

I read the OP a couple times and still not seeing the exact reason of needing 3 transfers, so I'm assuming its for the (same) name on both characters? If that's the case, do both swaps back to back, go ahead and let them get flagged for a name change, and after you switched both, "change" your name to your original name, as it would no longer be taken. This is of course payment for two transfers but your looking to "save" both characters names it seems, so this problem is special to your needs; and not something they are gonna make a service for as it would be way to rare and/or lose profits as others mentioned.

Edit: if its any consolation, I did two transfers back to back when I was house hunting for my main character, it just comes with the need, and how much you want to keep (or in my case get) what you want.

Edit 2: just occurred to me the different sub model for 1 per server. if that's the case, not sure what to tell you other then need to 'upgrade' your sub temporarily and do the switch, if that would even work, I never dealt with that sub model.

If you're on the entry level plan (one character per server) then just upgrade to standard until you decide to transfer your alt off tonberry. It'll come in handy if you have friends on Excalibur you want to keep in touch with, without having to create and level an entirely new character there from scratch.

When you get to my point of 3 times transfers, I mean if the dev can't have the swap two characters option, it'll be like this:
1. Tonberry char > transfer to another world for temporary (Let say Ragnarok).
2. Next, Excalibur char > transfer to Tonberry.
3. Again, the Ex-Tonberry (Ragnarok?) char > transfer to Excalibur.

That sums up total of 3 times transfers.
If I delete my tonberry char, that of course only one time transfer. But I do not wish to delete it, so I keep it.
Main reason why I wanted to move, its because I live in Asia, a few friends were playing there, and the lag latency experience.
Also if I move my Tonberry char to Chaos data center, and then transfer again to Excalibur, would that consider free of fee charges?
If they have same name with my characters, that I have to pay for name change in order to transfer. So far I checked on both servers and names, none similar.

Sorry, but world transfer is considered by SE an optional service and they have a small fee as you know. You don't need it to play the game, you're just choosing to transfer servers for your own reasons.

You need to either upgrade your account to have more than one character/server or just pay for all the fees involved.

No you don't get a free transfer if you go to Chaos now and then back again. That was only for accounts that existed on Chaos at the time that announcement was made (and it's only for another few days).

However if someone has the same name as you on the server you're moving to you DON'T have to pay for a name change. They'll force it on you when you try and login automatically (at no cost to you).

I don't get the point of upgrading my account, is this related to transferring world things?

Whatever, I don't think it's a good idea to pay £36.00 for this to make what I wanted to manage my chars, it's not cheap.
Just only swap service option, and pay for reasonable fee.
It's just a request, if they can't do it, I'll just sit plain and play, no strings attached.
Who knows people out there have this wishes too.

Well, upgrading your account would only cost a couple extra dollars per month (or whatever currency you use) as opposed to the full price of an extra transfer. That way you could transfer your main to tonberry without transferring your alt first or having to delete it, and it would give you some extra time to decide what you want to do with the alt.

Unfortunately, the free transfers are only for players transferring off of Chaos data center due to changes in gameplay caused by the move, not onto it, so that idea wouldn't work.

Ohh, I forgot about that! Standard upgrade can have 8 chars in one world.

Also forgot to mention, but as far as I'm aware you should be able to downgrade again at any time once you don't have a need for multiple chars on one server. At least it was easy enough for me once the name change service was added to mogstation and I no longer had to worry about transferring to change a char name.
