Attack on the ward!

Wouldnt it been cool like to have a real use of all the classes to your ward, private housing/fc housing, together defending it from pirates and monsters.
At the ward would been an invasion on the district regions and you had all to defend it together.

Example, use of housing materials you can place out cannons, traps, using of chocobos, build walls and defends against the pirates, Sagahins at mist, Lavenders beds against corruptions and monsters and Goblet against soldiers and thugz.

You had defend your town!
Cannonballs, fight on the beach, at the bridge, roads garden, fighting on the peir agains the boss that invaded the town.

it would be like marks similar as the raiding Seal Rocks to take control to save the town.
At the end some houses would needs to be repaired.
All classes would be useful to save your town, crafting, gathering for make stronger fortress.

Maybe i dream high up :p
But that would expand the housing fun and made a connection in the wards.

It does sound like a really fun idea. There are a few convenient chokepoints for this too, so mechanically, it could work.

I do doubt about the purpose of houses as "forts" though, or how crafters and gatherers could contribute except early on in the preparatory phases (like making cannons).

Otherwise, it sounds like a great new PvE game. I can see this fitting easily in to the lore too. Maybe the devs make a new area with an Ishgardian fort or maybe Idyllshire that you defend against monsters and dragons. I do feel like it'd take on some aspects from the Steps of Faith though, which may not be bad.

There are a few towns and villages that already have defend the town fates. Could be easily implemented for the wards. Instead of seals and xp, they could reward company action points.

I like it. It really does sound fun. It would be cool to have something like a signal telling you that a monster outbreak has occurred in a certain ward and if your house is in it, whether its your FC house or private, you'll need to defend it and also assist in defending other's homes as well, in case people are in the middle of a dungeon run. You'd lose nothing valuable, but maybe gain something depending on the quality of the ward's defense.

Huh... what was the system called in WoW? What was wrong with it exactly?

Garrison invasions, and they were pretty easy even in early raid gear... but they were kinda fun.

Yes, cause one other game did it and failed means that idea will never work period.
I honestly hope you never do any design work what so ever.

As longs as the mobs don't spawn anywhere near my house, I suppose I could tolerate it. I'd imagine many people would not appreciate the distraction.

I've been thinking of this too. Adding FATEs and GATEs to the wards to liven them up.

How about a PVP match like frontlines but based on a housing ward map? That would be fun, repelling hoards of PvE enemies in a 24 or 72 man coop... sorta defending the fort.

That would be a interesting 10 minute adventure. The PvP arena map could be based on an existing ward from any server in the datacenter (so you may recognize your neighbourhood), you would not be able to go inside the houses themselves, and it would be instanced so you don't annoy the real residents of that area. But you could see how people decorated their houses and frontyards while fighting sahagins, or goblins or ixals or whatever invading force was trying to break through.

You get ranked by kills/heals/damage dealt, and the goal is keeping the invading army from securing certain locations in the ward... I'd play that! ;)
