What should the new Ex Primal drop?

Just out of curiosity ,I personally would like to see an ilvl200 Ring. What would you like it to drop?

Mounts \o/ but that's props a later one.


Rings I'm always happy for but I think DPS/heals would benefit from them more since Tank can have 1 Slaying and 1 Fending ring on.

i200/i210 ring would be good, otherwise any i200/i210 accessory.

i200 weapon would also work, but most people have their i200 weapon now and a lot of people don't like the incentive to running EX Primals to be to gear alts.

This would actually mean that tanks benefit from them more if they're Unique. A tank could get 2 i200 rings, whereas everyone else would only be able to get one. If they use the Ravana/Bismarck token thing then you wouldn't have to worry too much about RNG, would just have to run it long enough to get both. Though tbf, most tanks are just running full Slaying atm. :P

I was thinking more Main stat wise, but VIT for Tanks are like well not high in demand for end game content at the moment, I was thinking a DPS would benefit better if they had 2 slaying/casting on since it's their main stat but I suppose it's how you look at it.

Since primals drop tokens now, I don't think it would be unreasonable to have entire gear sets which can be purchased with primal tokens. Could make this an alternative to eso gear.

People have been asking for more horizontal gear choices and I think this would be a good way to do that as well as extend the life of primal fights.

Definitely iTunes gift cards.

I'd like to see a possible mount (to keep people busy once it's no longer relevant) and maybe some accessories. Weapons would be nice too.

Something useful that isn't obsolete instantly or in the near future.

Give us armor for once, with interesting stats. A little horizontal progression.

If they're going to make the drops get outdated on release, it might as well be a glamour piece (especially since they're allowing multi-slot glamouring).If they're kept relevant, can't go wrong with weapon or right side.

i210 accessories (preferably rings). Make them i200 to start but upgradeable if they need to, but please, make sure it stays relevant.

Upgrading would be cool. Maybe the rings could be exclusive to drops on the primal, and instead of being able to buy a specific ring with tokens you can buy an upgrade item. That would also let you get 2 rings per job, one upgraded and one regular.

A ring would be the most logical. Could be i200 at first, then upgraded to i210 in a subsequent patch (3.15), or just i210 from the start. Can't see a weapon being added, since I imagine the relic will be available as the alternative i200 weapon to go for.

The relic weapon will likely be either i205 or i210, no one's going to farm their ass off for a weapon that's on par with what they already have.

An i200 ring with better stat allocation than the Eso Slaying ring. That thing is... yuck.

That was essentially how Shiva EX was set up (though I think the upgrade item came later), and it worked well enough. They still seem to be struggling to find a good reward structure for the EX primals. They've been different for every tier really. I still think the 2.1 set were the best designed in that regard (even without the Primal Focus weapons, at least the accessories weren't going to be obsoleted).

I'm hoping they can hit upon a structure that works (though I've never really understood why they deviated from the model in 2.1, generally).

If it isn't i200 then i205 will be best bet, but not i210. The relic has only ever been on par with the current raid weapons whenever we were close to a new patch that would out-date said weapon. So i200/i205 on launch, then upgradeable to i210 after, say, 3.18 is more likely.

This is probably correct, yes. I'm assuming we'll be customizing stats for the very first stage this time, resulting in a weapon that's probably i205. They might go for an all around longer quest chain, though, time gated in some fashion perhaps, that would culminate in an i210 weapon around 3.18 without an extra stage. They've had more time to plan the relic this time, so things might be less disjointed. We'll see in a few weeks!

Item level 190 weapon of course. It must be obsolete the moment it's released.

Left side glamour would be cool.

Considering that all gear is almost obsolete the moment it is released, I would love to see mount, minion + weapon or armor glamours. :D

I hope they drop more content.

Demimateria, to use in the crafting of primal themed Glamor Gear up updated Armor (and could be gotten from tokesns as well)

I;d also like this to apply to the older EXs as well

You'd be surprised at how many DON'T have the ESO weapon because they say they don't Raid, so they focus on their gear > weapon.

That always surprises me, but yes, that does happen. I did get my body first because I was waiting for a good NIN-styled body for a long time, but if it weren't for that I still would have gotten weapon first if only to make the stuff I do on NIN that much easier.

Eeeh yea its just pretty sad to rip hate as heal of those tanks with full i200 gear n i170 weapon in DR EX.... as healer with a simple Regen AFTER pull.

I'd really love a ring or accessories, maybe a belt... weapon wouldn't make sense imo.

Accesories for sure i200 min, weapons - would be nice for more glamour but can live without.

You know what I'd like? A whole event built behind Primals... Something like Sky Exploration, perhaps going into the various Beast Tribes Strongholds?

If you tied that in with the Primal fights, I think that would give Primals a much longer shelf life... You're no longer doing a Primal for a weapon, or pony, you'd doing it for an item that grants you access to an entire event...

I mean, take Bismarck... He is dead, he was dead at launch... Bismarck was literally nothing more than a stepping stone to farm Ravana for weapons... I certainly find none of his weapons particularly appealing, so I've done Bismarck (Extreme) a grand total of once. Slap "Requires an Expanse Totem" on the requirement to enter the new Sky Exploration zone (which being in the Sea of Clouds, you could argue is a Vanu Vanu area) though? Well would you look at that... Bismarck suddenly becomes extremely relevant, assuming Sky Exploration isn't a complete flop.

For the most part it's also something you can easily apply to the other Primals... Entirely new open world zones (like the Sky Exploration area) would need to be added, of course, but for the most part those are there, or could easily be added... The Ixali have a gate in Coerthas Central Highlands (just north from Natalan) which could lead to an Ixali Stronghold to make Garuda relevant. At the back of Zahar'ak there is a blocked gate and fairly ominous tower, perfect for a new zone. Sylphlands has a fair few dead ends which could lead somewhere. There's a dock at the back of the Sahagin area. Even something like the Ultima Ballad could grant you access to more of Castrum Centri for such an event... Odin, Mog and Shiva are a bit harder to work out, but I'm sure something similar could be done... Odin doesn't have his own tribe, but I'm sure there could be a particularly dangerous part of the Shroud they could lock behind him, same for Mog... Shiva could just work of Snowcloak...

IDK, maybe I'm just tired of events all just being handed to me instantly in the Duty Finder, I'd quite like having to do some leg work to access an event... Bonus points if it also keeps old content relevant...

It doesn't matter because with i210 aetherical gear from exploration Hunts without weekly limits anything EX will drop (stat-wise) will be instantly obsolete.

That depends largely on how easy it is to get that i210 gear and how lucky you get both on the gear and on the stats. I reaaaaally doubt the exploration thing is going to be the gear treasure trove that everyone imagines it will be.

Likewise. They weren't happy with the speed at which Hunts allowed people to hit i110 in 2.3 (given that they doubled the grind for 2.5), and I'd be surprised if the grind for Exploration Missions isn't even longer than what it was for Hunts in 2.5, especially given that you need RNG on your side for stats. My suspicion is that it's intended to be evergreen content, something people will always be able to return to to get that "perfect" piece (both for stats and for glamour), so I'm not confident we'll see anything remotely near one good i210 piece a week from it.

Ring for sure as currently the eso ones for many classes is well... yeah

I miss when ex primals were relevant. Garuda, Titan, and Ifrit were challenges with amazing gear rewards for the challenge. Compare these to the later EX's like Shiva and you can tell which was better.

Come on square. Give us something challenging with no lockout with a good reward. Do it.
