I was buying Thavnarian Silk from MB and I saw someone put wrong price. It's only 11,8k per pieces. I instead buy 2 pieces and trying to make Thavnarian Armlets (and trying to HQ). But I failed on 2 times Rapid Synthesis and then the synthesis is... failed... :( NOOO MY CHEAP SILK!!
...
Moral of the story: Just sell the silk again for safety reason (Or make NQ one than HQ)

depending on how fast you want it to sell NQ is still fine. And you can still make a profit. If people did more NQ I'd buy glamour stuff faster. I only buy HQ glamour stuff when that's the only option :( -

Crafters like to HQ items as a status thing. Their signature is on the item, and a lot of crafters will sell their NQ items for a lot cheaper.

While HQ and NQ sell at the same price on some servers, I know for a fact on others, HQ is worth more, regardless of it being a glam only item. I even had a crafter who failed a HQ item he was crafting for me and wouldn't give me the NQ one, instead used his own materials to make it HQ because he saw the NQ as a failure. I guess some people just take pride in HQing their crafts. :)

Personally, if Im making a glamour item for myself, I wont bother to HQ it. Same for if Im having one crafted for me, Ill tell the crafter to NQ it or that it doesnt matter.
For selling, Ill try to HQ it, but wont sacrifice progress for it. -

Here, the HQ glamour gear offers literally nothing extra: no different colours or patterns, no special nametag on them, no special visual effects, nothing is different in their appearance, you don't get better stats from them - absolutely nothing whatsoever. The only purpose they serve is that already filthy rich crafters can exploit others much more, making those "how much gil per server?" stats even more skewed. I understand the crafters' intentions for wanting to make them HQ because it's an option, and I understand people buying the HQs when there are no NQs on sale because everyone's only making the HQ version.Quote:

This thread reminds me of how I failed (I believe) Standard Synthesis with Steady Hand II up.
Basically, I had a 110% chance to succeed progressing my craft and I failed.
