Two-handed Mace/Hammer, should it be MRD weapon or new job?

Most of MRD and WAR animations match with Two-handed Mace/Hammer attack pattern. The biggest problem is damage output. It doesn't make sense for let it dealt slashing damage like axe. Is it possible for MRD use this weapon in future or they must create new job for it?

I won't say it's impossible, but I highly doubt they would make any for marauder. At best they might make a blocky Axe someday.

I wouldn't mind a scythe-wielding class for a new melee, instead of more hammers.

Sorry, could not resist. Personally, I want a pole as weapon. Not a lance, a pole. No piercing, bludgeoning. For one, because the blunt resistance debuff right now is just sitting there, looking pretty, for another, because pole dancers, err...fighters are a nice fantasy.

It should obviously be WHM.

as for answering the topic, The thing is with a unique weapon being a requiseite for a new job, and the fact that only mages can "weaponize" objects not meant for war (see, Arcanist and Astrologian) it means that that WAR will not have hammers without limiting the available melee classes or that if a melee class that uses war-hammers is implemented after giving WAR-hammers they would have to take away these hammers like thy did with the Paladin knives.

Basically a Job with more than one weapon and Job diversity are mutually exclusive, and I;d think SE would liek to have all their options open for future expansions.

Any new weapon I think would be better for a new job. For Hammer and Two-Handed Mace i can see it on a Templar maybe a Vikibg type of sort too. They could be be very similar to PLD and WAR but thats the dev work to make them different

There's a certain antagonist that uses a hammer.
Seems pretty MRD-like to me in his attacks.

I don't want to come off as a shock to you, but he still has unique animations that make it quite a handful to give to players.

I'm like those that says new weapon: new job.

Now, a two-handed Hammer.. hmm.. a new Tank? Even if it would be slower, the damage and enmity would have to be increased to counter the animations.

Perhaps then DPS will wait a bit before engaging hehehe ^^

I wouldn't mind to see a Tank with a Pistol or Gun plus Shield.. Switching to 2 Guns (like Sword Oath and Shield Oath) to do more damage..

Perhaps they'll think about advanced jobs, then we could choose from 2 different branches, and the Marauder could go with that Hammer..

Anything is possible. Now SE better read our ideas, and hopefully act upon them! ;)

In MMOs, I'm mostly playing BLM.. but this one, Fire and Ice only.. I am disappoint.

I'm up for new weapons! Maybe that new relic might bring a nice surprise! ^^

i wouldn't mind a class that uses hammers. there was also an npc that used a hand-axe, but uses attacks gladiators use as well.
