Was actually talking to my wife today about this. If 3.0 was flying, and 4.0 is swimming, an aquatic race would be fun.

I read this completely wrong. I was like: "wth are you guys going to race a fish?"

And I have no idea what fish would be the fast/best to pick. So thank you for not being about racing fish. I'd totally lose that game.

Not only did I assume this meant racing on fish the first time like a few others (thank goodness I wasn't the only one!), I keep falling into the same trap each time I visit the main page and read the thread title. The mental image is really distracting.

But yes, an aquatic theme for a new future playable race would be fun.

Well didn't they say they were going to do "sea" after "sky" for expansions? It makes sense but highly doubt there will be an emphasis on an "aquatic" race. If nothing else it will be some kind of middle eastern themed race or something.

I think an aquatic race would be neat but designing it would be rough. Would you put gils and fins and stuff?

What would a fish race be like? It would just have scales and maybe a tail, which is just like the Au Ra...perhaps make them more beastly? I don't think we'll see an aquatic race for 4.0. Even though it's going to be water-themed, our actual adversary might still be the Garleams or an existing enemy. I'd imagine our new race would be based off of something that's already been hinted at in the lore.

When I read the title to this thread I was expecting the suggestion of a literal fish racing mini game where you catch and raise your fish and set them against each other ala Dark Cloud 2.

Now I'm just sad.

Well, why not? We already have the Dragon-looking-demon-wanna-be race thats discriminated by Ishgard.
May as well have a fish race thats discriminated by Lominsans, a lizzard race for the Ul'dian, and a Cabbage race to be loved by the Gridanian :v (in the kitchen)

Probably cus its only a slight tweek to Miquote? As a person who loves foxes, I wouldn't argue though.

Nonsense, there are different body shapes between all the races, they can do the same with a Fox race.

I'm also in the boat where i feel Miquote should have been full body fur and au'ra full body scales. Full body fur fox race plz.
