Yeah, I think the closest we'd get are the terrible Type-0 uniforms... I've never understood the whole thematic trope of 'school' that alot of anime and JRPGs go for. Valkyria Chronicles is a great example... the first game was a gem, all of it's sequels bloody school stories. Type-0, an entire nation is just a big school. VIII, the world is policed by schools! Attack on Titan has a gag series... around a school setting. The list goes on! It's like the Japanese have all their best memories... in school, and are constantly trying to relive that time through their media.

That's exactly the truth. High school is the last time that many Japanese feel personal freedom; the last time when they can still change the path they're on. It's no surprise that a lot of them idolize the experience.

I'd be game with one of the "SeeD" uniforms. I personally liked the blue/silver (undergrad I guess?) but they all had a distinct touch to 'em. We had Shantotto use her mojo, and then Lightning with her thing (only played the first 13, so can't reason that one myself), why not some rift with Ultimecia? She had a huge thing of 'time' revolved around her.

Perhaps not, but the style has been used throughout many FF games, both in the artwork used for character portraits, and the over-exaggerated emotions. In addition, it has inspired an anime series all of its own.

So, it's not a stretch to say they're both taking inspiration from each other.

The difference is that those crossovers were promotional, they were promoting XI's Shantotto mini-xpac and Lightning Returns, respectably. However as pointed out before, type-0, the only other GG game focusing on high school aged soldiers, didn't release such an event, so the odds are very slim unless VIII somehow gets a re-release

@JenyLinsky I believe the term for that specific form of nostalgia is called "Seishun"

I see nothing wrong with adding such to the game.

There are many fairly pointless and strange outfits in this game, few more won't ruin it.

Meh, those don't really argue with the lore of the game in anyway. If they would do the school uniforms to fit the style of XIV, I would have nothing against them. But it seems people want traditional Japanese high school girl outfits and that's a big no-no imo.

I can live without them BUT if they may come I hope they'd be from Type-0! And can't stress enough: DYEABLE!!

Who cares about clothes fitting lore? Like half the stuff in XIV doesn't fit lore. More moe and kawaii glamourz plz SE. I nez me skool outfit!

They can always give to them a FFXIV twist, they did so with SCHs sets, Kain, Setzer, Shadow.. but leaving them simple.
