Leveling/Exp Idea: More Exp bonus per max lvled class/job.

So I had this idea as i chatted with friends.

I'm sure there are many of us who enjoy leveling other classes. Whether its for new roles, story or to kill time, i'm sure many do.

The armory bonus is pretty nice, its a pleasant reward for hitting cap. However, at some points it still feels like a drag, even more when its a class your not fond of.

My idea is and extra 5%-10% pre max leveled DoW/M class/job ( maybe a cap on the 4th, 5th class/job), and like before with the expansion, the armory bonus is reset one the new cap is placed.

Given how many jobs there are to level and the far higher amounts of HP/def that HW mobs have, it really does need more love sooner than later to exping. Anything to help speed up my avoidance of all these Aurum Vale attempts with tanks that can't tank. Amazing that they got far enough to do AV without even being able to generate more threat than a NINs DoTs can produce. Although, I'm even more amazed if we make it far enough to get to the first boss so we can wipe a bunch before calling it. There's some hope for that tank if we can make it that far, at least.

Today I reached the semi halfway point in the leveling process.

Now then I have played a lot and still I am not even close to being done with the battle jobs. I will not be done by 3.1 for sure and all this new content will come out and I have yet to finish the 3.0 leveling content yet. So please Yoshi P / dev team do something about the leveling on battle jobs, make it easier please. It is very long and grindy currently. Something should be done to make it easier to level up. Levels 50-60 is burtal to level up because it takes so much exp.

Also there is another minor issue with lower level jobs eating your rested exp. I want to try the 3 new jobs but can't because it will use up all my rested exp the lower levels go by so fat and thus eat it fast so it makes no sense to level a new job until all the old jobs are 60 first.

I wouldn't mind how long it takes if it weren't so monotonous. A dungeon every 2 levels seemed fast at first, but once I got a handle on the xp curve that illusion shattered pretty quick. Outside of those dungeons you've got daily hunts and fates (more fates, awesome), which really isn't much. Roulettes aren't even efficient (except trial) after 51.

I got a tank/healer/dps at 60, and was gonna level nin cause I like the mudra system (yay for not being laggy), but I really don't wanna run each dungeon 15+ times.

But I guess it's too late for adding more leveling content, so yeah, an exp bonus would be nice.

Some guy in my fate party was on the lv59 of his last job. The crafts are very easy to do take a couple hours each with leves, battle jobs now thats the hard part.

I would say it isn't because other MMOs don't let you play every class on one character. FFXIV takes ages to max out everything. It only seemed easy in 2.0 because everyone who played 1.0 already had everything at 50 so we only had to level smn/sch and be done and people got bored cause they already leveled all their jobs. With 3.0 everyone has the same amount of stuff to level and its taking a lot longer then expected.

You can make alts yes, but in a popular MMO that starts with a W you get about 120% exp boost for alts with leveling gear you can buy once you get one to the cap, and another 300% for referring friends. Talk about easy leveling there.

I don't know how to craft. ^.^" I leveled them all via Ixali dalies and GC turn ins.

Level them one at a time with leves look for the cheapest turn in, either make the stuff or buy it from the MB if feeling lazy. Like for cooking its ishguard muffin. I think it was aroun 60-70 muffin turn ins to get 60.

Am close enough to 60 on all my jobs now. Finding it's not actually too bad with dungeons, fates, leves, roulettes, hunts, challenge log. Soon they will add exp to enemies in lv50 dungeons also. Perhaps the same will be done with lv50 raids such as the world of darkness. It's quite an extreme undertaking to level every job in the game to 60, so I don't think the burnout of doing so affects many people. I love the game so much that I'm near that goal without really getting bored, but there were times I felt it a little slow. Though considering the level cap will not be raised again for over a year, there's no rush to cap everything right now.

Ya, this really isn't true. Leveling in WoW takes far less time. I did 1-70 on one class in a day. Takes significantly longer in this game.

I suppose the only change that I would make is to the Leveling roulette. If its true purpose is to level low level toons, then remove the once a day reward for completing it. You will get plenty of people to flock to those dungeons.

The purpose of leveling roulette is to bring people in dungeons (much) lower than the level of the job. To level up you can also use the dungeons around the level of your job outside of roulette.

The roulette exp is purposed to be a compensation to give you around the same exp as if you did a dungeon at your jobs level.

Is there a reason you all want to cap everything so quickly...?
I'm like dead serious, I thought I was going sort of fast with my leveling... (and I only have three DOW/M classes maxed)...
not to mention the jobs I'll never touch. Still probably not going to continue level WHM or LNC or BLM until I get really bored.

Or even just scale the roulette better for 51+. Even the once-a-day bonus can't compete with just doing the highest available hw dungeon unless you luck out into something like ifrit normal.

EQ2 did this as well, a per max char exp bonus. It was definitely a nice feature, because by the time you're on your 4th, 5th or 6th job, chances are you've leveled the ones you really enjoy already, have done the same dungeons so many times they're getting mind numbing, and just want to get it done.

No need to play with those bonus numbers.
Just reduce the exp needed for second/third... classes by 50%, problem solved.

It should be 33%+ experience per max level character account wide.

in other games u have a bonus 100% of the time (a chest with gear , usually jewelry) , in others u have the bonus x7/day

in a game like FFXIV that u have to level all classes with 1 char....having the bonus once a day is a bit lame , while others games that is one char one class have more runs and still have the quest leveling.

the ppl with all the classes leveled how did u level? :o spaming fates in NT?

They could even make it optional for those who prefer the current speed by working it as in in game buff.

You go to the npc, he puts a buff on you giving you a % boost based on how many jobs you have capped (I assume would work same as armory and only count battle jobs, whether or not crafting/gathering should have any bonus is a different discussion) that stacks with the armory boost.

Buff lasts until you turn it off, or logout. If you cap another job, click it off and go back to get a re-calculated one.

It's an extra step, but I don't know their code base, so it may be easier to work it this way, and this also makes it optional.

I so agree with this. I have 2 characters, my main with tank, melee dps, dol/doh, and alt with ranged dps and healers. It's already tedious leveling one character but leveling two or more is even harder. Please consider a buff you can buy with seals from the GC for personal use. For example, 20k seals to double exp in a dungeon one time. You can pair this with the duty roulette bonus.
