That moment when everyone's dead in Ravana EX, and I'm the only player, a healer, left. *Looks at limit break meter and Rav's 2% HP* "SO CLOSE" *Spams, spams, spams heals to push up LB meter* *Gets LB3 up and activates* *Dies .0000000000001 secs after everyone ressurects* We passed the run fortunately :D Made me feel really good as a healer though :3 Could never do that again lmao
Everyone is dead in the group, except for me, by the boss.
I'm trapped in a corner and the boss with his adds is charging at me with 0.3% HP left.
before they can one shot me I fired a Slug Shot, playing as a Machinist, at the boss and killed it.
Victory!
As a summoner in A4, raising healer that had died, then run in one direction, using the healer you have just ressurected as a meatshield for the lazer (while he had the immortality thingy still)
My first t1 kill with dots, my first t6 kill with dots too (everyone was dead) and t9 first kill, our team died , only me and bard left, , i was out of mp. garuda was dead. i used aetherflow and spammed energy drain/ruin while us both kited it. (we died alot yeah eheheh)
thou its something known now, first time i used shukuchi to avoid death in levi ex, felt so good....
First win on T9. My team was having a lot of trouble with the divebombs, after surviving them and whittling down that last bit of health, which seemed to remain at 1% for a ridiculous amount of time, when she finally fell. I half broke my keyboard.
But as far as DF, there was a roulette run of Ravana NM that I healed. I have never seen so many raises cast, had to be at least 10 by each of the healers. I was exhausted by the end, but when he finally died, it was great.
Just the other day in Ravana Ex, we were doing some runs for a person and had a couple of DPS die to Final Liberation. Ravana was at 2% when he came back down, figured we could kill him right then and there. Nope, he activates his Warlord Shell so he's basically invulnerable for a bit. Of course due to the lack of DPS on the shell we failed the DPS check, but somehow by some miracle the people still alive managed to kill Ravana as he was casting Warlord Flame, the instant wipe move he uses on the party lol.
Before expansion.
I had helped a PF group with Titan Ex clear. We made it to final phase, along the way the PLD had fallen from Landslide, everyone else had started dying or fallen and it was me (WAR) and a healer (WHM) left. Titan was on the verge of dying and I had 9 stacks already. The phase had repeated again with the adds and landslides were soon on me, I quickly targeted an add and used Holmgang to avoid falling off. We miraculously beaten it few seconds after.
That moment I was running Tamtara HM blind the day it came out as a healer with a tank friend, first boss DPS died easy and my friend and I two manned it.
..No moment I had in the game tops that time I was tanking Aurum Vale, and the other three were first timers. No wipes. It was only at the end of the run did I realize I led three first timers through the worse dungeon in the game in a smooth run..
That's always gonna be my best DF moment/memory.
I'm shady on the specifics, but it was shortly after World of Darkness came out. My wife and I were running it (BRD and BLM, respectively), and right toward the end something happens and everyone dies..except for us. We don't notice right away and go on about killing the boss, which is basically dead anyway. The fight finishes and we're both like "Woo ho0... OH CRAP!" when we see the party and alliance list. lol
When i was playing a whm lalafell a year ago, it was halatali story and we get to the second boss my party dies from the water, the boss was @ 50% hp and my party ports out assunming is was gonna die. I enxded up soloing the boss. I was just level 30 in basic gear. I pretty much ff11 styled kite the thing and the thunder sprites. Took a bit, but killed it. (i've been gaming 27 years I'm not gonna lay down and die i rather go out fighting)
getting stuck with a full raid of new people to LoA during the rush of new players around 2.25, having four members quit from two of the other groups, (1 tank, two heals, and a dps) b/c dumb wipe, assuming control of 20 people and leading them to victory after through the last half of the raid dungeon.
That moment in Ravana Ex when everyone except for me is dead and I am using living dead and kill Ravana, then 2s later I die.
WAY back when, I was a Summoner helping someone level their archer at level 15, so we were in Sastasha. Tank is new, Healer has a bad connection and is phasing in and out basically, till they're gone for good midway through the second fight with Maddison. Thankfully still Sastasha, so my Summoner Heals weren't too bad to finish the fight. So we're down a healer and we're waiting for a new one, but no-one likes the waiting game, so I bring up that I CAN heal, though not well in the slightest. It does well enough to get us too the boss, with me as healer, Garuda and my Archer friend as DPS and the glad as tank, of course. We get to the final boss, and decide that everything is going smoothly enough that we can run it without the healer at least once. If we lose, well, we're losing time waiting for the healer anyways. I know that I'm going to have exactly zero time to deal with the grates, so I summon Titan to function as an off tank so when the ads inevitably show up. The Glad looses agro to titan almost right out of the gate. So I'm using Sustain and Physick to keep Titan alive, but he's dying, even with Aetherflow my MP is dying. The group is thankfully killing Orcatooth and the actual tank seems to realize what is happening and pulls off a good job off tanking, but I'm not quite able to tell which will end first, Titan or the boss. I figure if Titan dies, Orcatooth will turn on me and murder the hell out of me, the Archer and the tank getting swarmed by the Ads.
Thankfully he dies just before Titan bites it after my MP does. I then tell the Tank that what I did was very silly and not to do as I do.
That moment when your carrying someone through titan hm in 2.0 as a tank and have a screenshot idea...and then you fall off by accident.
When you try to four man t2 with a L60, 52, and two 50 white mages...and then end up soloing the last node after enrage because that AoE hurts ~50s (a lot) still.
When you clear t13 for the first time with four people alive, one of them freshly raised and another still in a raise animation and you were just hitting all the buttons.
When walking dead is allllmost gone and you get that benediction off just in time.
When you're 400 points behind in a Seal Rock match and somehow manage to come back and win.
That time when our tank in Aurum Vale got lv50 and immediately left... a monk tanked the rest of the dungeon (we were past coincounter anyway), then on the last boss both him and the healer died and I ended up killing the thing.
Everydaylife in DF is "that moment" X°D
Last thing I remember where I felt godly cool was in DR Trials queued as SMN and popped Moogle Mog: Many new players, one of them was an arcanist undergeared. LOL
I try to explain the general things but the tank "pulls", and I say "pulls" cause he wasn't keeping a thing, I try to put marks. Ruffle tuff (WAR) was freely going around killing people but we manage to phase with only 1 moogle alive.
Second phase was a crazy mess, luckily I had marked the moogles previously cause a DRG and a BLM were at least following the numbers. Tanks couldn't keep enmity and players were dying left and right. I resurrected so many time the healers I've lost the count and tanked Ruffle and King with Titan Egi while DPSing the rest and giving out some orders.
I still don't know how we made it
Today in A3, the tanks wouldn't decide who is going to MT and everyone was clearly tired of waiting. So I yell "LEROY JENKINS!" in party chat and shoulder tackle the boss, run went smooth as butter after that =P
Lol@leroy Jenkins! Brings back memories galore...
But yeah one of my boo yah moments was Coincounter in AV when I was the last one standing and kiting like crazy and my dots killed the bugger when I had less than 100 hp left.
The other was in Steps of Faith pre-nerf, everyone else had died and was trying to sprint back... Vishap was at 1% and lb already used. He only needed to hit the wall once more for another FAIL but once again my dots killed him at the last second.
Last boss in vault, I was on BLM, less than 1/4 life left, other 3 members dead, finished the boss with a limit break. Got triple commendations ;)
Edit:
Similar time when leveling ROG in Haukke NM, last boss, other 3 members dead, and managed to finish the boss, with an add still left up. Celebrated by singing the Ninja turtle rap song :)
(yes, I wasn't technically a NIN yet, but semantics :P)
Soloing Halatali HM and won at last second with only 5% HP left! Was Exciting to know not to know you can solo finish an expert run! o_o
Solo'ed the Cutter's Cry's Chimera twice at level synch. Once as a bard (ez pez kiting) and once as a monk (god that thing hits like a truck).
I also have solo tanked T13 while wearing the chocobo suit. Solo'ing akh morn without holmgang feels pretty badass :D
That moment when the first boss of Fractal throws down his mess of AoE and you manage to find that one tiny safe spot in the middle and watch everything blowing up around you while you remain perfectly unharmed.
That moment in Neverreap on the last boss, when the Tank fell off on the first knockback and I tanked the boss from ~70% as a NIN with cooldowns and the healer said after the smooth kill that I was easier to heal than the tank.
