Suggestion for Dungeons and other duties.

At the moment, I'm on the part of the story where you need to go to the Praemetorium and can't find a party that won't just run past all of the enemies and its really annoying. This dungeon that I've been told is really good, is just getting ruined by people not doing it properly! My suggestion is that you make it so that the party must defeat at least 90% of enemies in order to complete the duty to stop this from happening, or at least something to stop people doing this. I plea that you do this because my experience is just being ruined because of it.

Okay, I've been told that something like that is in place on later game dungeons, but I wish it was on story mode ones too, because if people are just going to skip through the dungeons, its going to really annoy everyone trying to play through the story. To be honest it makes me just not want to play unless this is fixed.

If you're playing through for story, get your FC to help. No one will wait for you in DF since anyone there is likely through Duty Roulette Main Scenario so they want to get through quickly since the story is irrelevant to them

Also why do you care about the trash mobs? It's not like killing them gives you more story. What's the difference between running to the teleporter, or just sitting there spamming AOE attacks to kill mobs that couldn't kill you if they tried to just use the teleporter anyway? I can see complaining about the cutscenes but trash mobs?

And as you found out, this is the only story dungeon where this is a thing and why they stopped making dungeons like that

Firstly, I'm only in a small free company with just myself and two friends so that isn't an option.

Secondly, I care because I'd like to actually play the dungeon, not just run through an area getting chased, I can do that anywhere else in the damned game, I go into a dungeon to play it!

Also, games are supposed to be fun. What, may I ask, is so fun about running through an area getting chased?

Then find some other people to help you. They're not going to change the way the dungeons work just because of player behavior in one archaic dungeon with a design that's no longer used for content.

If you don't know 5 more people that can help you then go out and socialize more. Join some linkshells or something. Make a party finder. The community isn't event heartless, there's always people willing to help.

Though to be honest you're being unreasonable. This is one dungeon. In a large MMO. Threatening to quit because of one bad experience means you're probably not going to like the rest of the game since you're bound to get other difficult groups that are rude or inconsiderate. People want to do things that are worth it. The trash mobs in there don't even give exp. So to 99% of the player base, it's not worth their time to kill it.

What fun is it killing mobs that give no story, no exp, hit like wet noodles and die in like 15 seconds?

Oh? I'm unreasonable for wanting to play a game that I spend REAL money on, properly? Ooooh gosh I'm sorry! (Sarcasm) I'm not being unreasonable at all. I want to play this dungeon for the experience. People are just running past all of the enemies, running past people watching cutscenes, and then just enter a boss fight without them! That's just 100% selfish! If Square Enix have managed to stop this sort of thing in later dungeons, then how hard would it be to simply apply it to this one? As it stands, it's completely boring, which sucks because I've been told that when it's done properly it's actually a very fun dungeon, but I can't do it properly because people are wankers! If I'm going to spend £9 a month on a game then I want to be able to actually enjoy every aspect of it, but I can't.

It's 100% selfish to expect 7 people you don't know to do a dungeon the way you want to and cause them to spend more time in it than they need to.

I already told you, go find 7 other people (5 if your two friends help) and run it that way. Don't expect DF groups to do what you want.

And they're not going to bother wasting time on a 2.0 dungeon when there are several things in 3.0 that are way more important

its not really the trash mobs that's the problem its the 10+ cut scenes in it.

I wish people would stop making threads like this cause all these suggestions if they put even one into effect. No one would bother with the roulette. Yes let's make it harder to fill in the roles for these dungeons no problem since you need them cleared to advance the story.

The only reason people do it is because it's quick. If you want story you make a premade party.

Oh and the reason they put up stops in 3.0 dungeons was to avoid speed runs for exp. It's not for story reasons. They don't want the tank to pull from boss to boss and then AOEing all the mobs to get quick EXP (or stuff like DD where you just do first room pulls)

So basically, you both think these players should be rewarded for doing absolutely buggar all?

It's faceroll content. Theres no iLevel Sync.
People walk in with their i130ish+ characters and just wreck everything anyway. Why waste time? The dungeon is tuned for like ilvl 50. Even if you kill everything it takes 0 effort but adds like 5-10 minutes to the run.

Just remember those other players also pay that amount of money to play this game per month as well. So the argument can be flipped, why should 7 others spend more time than needed doing a dungeon?

Thread will go thin into the air anyway, as soon as the OP realizes he's forced to run praetorium (or castrum) for exp on a daily basis with the roulette. It won't take long :)
