It seems like there are a lot of areas that are unfinished or just never meant to be open in the cities.
In LL the only road that seems to have any traffic on it is the one between the aerythe and the MW/GC instance.
I hope in the future patches SE provides us more reasons to travel to the other places in the city as well and maybe build these places in the actual city by using the un-used areas like the higher level of LL.
I hope I'm not alone in this but I really hate it in games when the visuals show a lot of the areas the player never has access to.
This is also very true in Ul'dah.
I liked the feeling they created in XI where you eventually really got to know the massive cities because all the necessary places where scattered throughout the area and not just in one instance.
Also it makes a huge difference if these areas are in the city or just warp-portals to a loading screen between areas. If they just scattered instances throughout the city it would probably feel just like useless running around.
For example it would be nice to see actual chocobo stables now that we have them instead of just one guy standing around with a chocobo.
Use the ENTIRE city please.

Yes, i agree with this.
I was shocked that there was no actual stable for chocobos.
Like the repair npc should have their own place instead of randomly just standing in some corner in the city. -

It is obvious to me that the cities are designed for future expansion in mind. There are lots of doors that don't open and areas with little in them and I am sure that in a couple of years many of them will be used. -

I agree with the idea, and I agree with the loading screen, while the loading screen and the loadng screen after port throw a portal is the same, but the player do feel different
and to add into the idea as Yoshida mention something about add mog house with the map re-make (if i remember correct):
they can also make the mog house in the way that you can have the garden and can enter the door and not port into a room -

San'doria is a good example of an area where you see upper areas to the city like pathways and hidden corridors but still lets you access those areas mostly. If house is copied as just dressing and the door is never going to be opened I'd rather not see that kind of filler at all like some huts in Gridania that you can't access. Some areas seem to be gated without any purpose at all like the Airship Platform in Grid. In an area where you sometimes have to wait for long periods of time this is the worst area possible to gate off half of the visible ground.

The cities should be plenty of things to do too, like:
- some mini-games (casino in uldah?).
- events (music hall in gridania?).
- special fairs or npc markets (on sunday).
- interesting quests inside the city only (like onion children in ff11). And special quests for DoH like fix buildings and city stuff.
- nice places/citystreets to visit (particular scenery vistas or unique places like the Manor and the Church in sandoria) and something to do/interactive with.
- a place, graphically made, for Grand Companies (with garden and a majestic entrance). So as for the Markets (entrance only).
- secret/hidden places (like underground cellars in sandoria).
- the prisons (in which banned pg will be put -instead of an instanced room- and you could interact with them from the jail door -limited interaction-). :D
..and so on. -
